Great ! but still want to know of the happenings in LLanview

Madeline Stowe in the Revenge promo. I guess it’s obvious she didn’t die in the finale.

What am I most excited to see on ABC this fall?

GENERAL HOSPITAL!

I’m done w/ Revenge. What is it w/ Hollywood and their utter hatred for Asians?! Asian Americans are a significant group w/ high education rates and dollars to spend but all Hollywood does is marginalize them. Films often whitewash Asian roles and cast white actors for parts for Asian actors. This has been going on from the days of Katerine Hepburn and John Wayne and Mickey Rooney as Mr. Yunioshi on Breakfast at Tiffany’s to present. Upcoming film like Akira is a Japanese manga w/ white actors like R. Patz and the annoying and untalented Timberlake up for those roles. Cloud Atlas whitewashed Asian roles w/ Hugo Weaving and Jim Sturgess. Sturgess callously tweeted abt fro yo toppings when asked abt whitewashing of the film. Strugess was the lead in a movie called 21 w/ Kate Bosworth w/c was abt Asian American MIT math students w/c was again whitewashed. The film would rather hire a British white acotr like Sturgess and get him a dialect coach than hire an Asian American actor! TV is equally bad if not worse. TV shows seldom have supporting Asian characters and even more seldom Asian lead characters. The roles of Asian Americans are often asexualized and the perpetual foreigner. Revenge’s white characters have complicated romantic relationships EXCEPT for the only Asian male character Takeda. Typical hollywood racism. Wouldn’t Revenge’s audience be screaming homophobia if Nolan was asexual on a soap opera? Of course! But that’s par for the course bec gay characters are treated w/ priority while Asian characters are the least of the writers’ priorities and can be openly ridiculed on TV. 2 Broke girls anyone? This from the “liberal and progressive” enclave that is Hollywood.

I loved Revenge and will continue to watch. Hate the time slot change. But I don’t care how good a new show looks. If its on ABC, I WONT watch. I watch, GH ,Revenge and Greys Anatomy. As long as they are on I will watch them. But I will never start watching something new on ABC.
