What does “AMC’s” Cameron Mathison have to say about moving west with the show, and his cougar storyline with Susan Lucci? What does “Y&R’s” Daniel Goddard and Christel Khalil tell me about the next beat in the Cane/Lily romance? What did “DAYS” Peter Reckell and his wife Kelly Moneymaker think about the actor who played Bo Brady finally being nominated and recognized for an Emmy, after decades? The answers to these questions and many more are all found during my newly released 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Red Carpet Gems ( as I like to call them) with the stars of your favorite soaps.
I have to say, in my years of reporting and covering the Emmys, that some of these moments were really entertaining! Make sure to check out “DAYS” Jay Johnson and Shelley
Hennig’s clip as the duo reveal that a hot quandrangle is going to definately heat up Salem, and then there is some giggles…Why?…well, you have to watch. Ex- “Y&R’s” Victoria Rowell who has been all the rage on the internet of late, gives me a little clue as to if, she will indeed return as Drucilla to the number one soap.
Now for those first meetings and encounters, Noelle Beck from “ATWT”, pretty in Bagly Mishka finally got to meet one another after our charming interview on XM’s Soap Break, a few months back. She does tell me, that yes, Lily sleeps with Damian, and she says, “Who wouldn’t? Or something to that effect.
Guiding Light gang was represented with the beautiful mother and daughter duo of Tina Slona and Beth Chamberlin, as you will see the interview almost disolved into total tears. As did, my wonderful final red carpet ‘Josh’ moment with the incomporable Robert Newman, and then we come to Jeff Branson. Jeff and I shared a brief moment i
n the press room, after he won his Supporting Actor Emmy. He knew that earlier on this red carpet clip, I gave him good Emmy Karma. So check that out. Finally, I got to talk with Gina Tognoni, who always brightens up any Red Carpet. This two-time Emmy winners shared with me her final thoughts on the ‘Light ‘being put out in Springfield on September 18th.
“B&B’s” and “True Blood’s”Ashley Jones and I had some good laughs talking about Bridget Forrester’s unbelievable ability to be a surgeon, OBGYN Fertility Specialist, and top fashion designer seemingly all at the same time, and we talk about playing with hot vampires in her HBO series.
Our “On-Air On-Soaps” fashion contributor, “DAYS” Lauren Koslow also gives me her initial reaction to the Red Carpet Frocks and Jocks. Later, after mulling over her faves and not-so-faves, she came up with her Daytime Emmy Style and Fashion review also in our Red Carpet Emmy-site section.
There are 26 soap star video interviews, and each one had a little fun and interesting moment I hope you will enjoy. You can click below to go right to the Red Carpet section. http://michaelfairmansoaps.com/emmys2009/redCarpet.html
Also, if you want to see what all of us journalists and reporters do backstage, make sure to watch our grilling of the winners in each of the Daytime Drama categories! LOL! We had their heads spinning… probably. We can be a tough crowd. Seriously, make sure to go the Winners area and watch the wining clips from the Emmy telecast and then watch the stars backstage. Once in the Winners area, you can also view my final Daytime Emmy Wrap-Up 2009, posted today. Its been a long, exhausting, tiring, controversial, thrilling, puzzling week, and now its time for a long holiday weekend. Best to all,…enjoy the Emmys one more time by reliving the moments in front of the camera and behind it with me.
