And we’re off! The 40th annual Daytime Emmy Awards kicks-off next month with some very crucial deadlines as laid out today by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Senior Executive Director, David Michaels!
In addition to the key dates for performers and judging below, there are a few changes in the rules for Daytime performers. In the Pre-Nomination acting categories, performers are now allowed to submit a three minute scene, as opposed to last year’s which was only two minutes. Those submissions this year will be pre-screened to ensure they don’t exceed this time limit.
Also, The New Approaches category had been divided up into two: One category titled: New Approaches- Enhancement To A Daytime Program or Series will be for material that enhances and supports existing broadcast programming and the second category, New Approaches- Original Daytime Program or Series, will be for original new product. Both categories encompass all Daytime genres. Here are the key dates For Emmy 40!
