Thank you for saying this, Tammy. And if not for Prospect, we would not have been delivered Billy Clyde’s swan song. He really was a brilliant character actor.

B&B’s stories might not be bold, but it is definitely beautiful– the sets, the costumes, the hair, the make up, the lighting, so I am not surprised it clean up in these awards. And since the public isn’t interested in watching these awards, those 1200 people were allowed to enjoy their evening in peace– hope they had a great time and congrats to all those who were honored for their hard work–as viewers we don’t often express our appreciation for those who work behind the scenes but they help make our shows what they are. Think about it, without them we would just be watching a bunch of naked actors standing in a dark barren studio. Okay, I know some of you wouldn’t mind the naked part, but without lighting we wouldn’t be able to see any of it. LOL.

Nearly every single one of my picks won. How awesome for all the well deserving winners. Nice to see AMC and OLTL recognized for groundbreaking creativity in the genre. And B&B. What’s to say? Talk about the most beautifully packaged show on daytime. Kudos to all.

You’d think they could read the handwriting on the wall. After all the uproar from the fans and the media coverage and the lack of success of the replacements, you’d think someone in charge over there would have the courage to say “We messed up. We’d better fix this.”

I think- once the ABC, Prospect Park lawsuit is settled, if good outcome PP they will launch the soaps, again.

Hopefully, but lawsuits usually drag on and on for years.
The longer it goes on, the less likely it will happen.
The shows have been declared dead before, and I do believe that there is a small possibility still.

Congratulations to AMC and OLTL. Both shows were absolutely first rate productions. Please come back to us.

Why are web series included? Shouldn’t they have their own awards? Webbies? Is not fair to network shows that spend countless amounts of money producing their shows and are exceptionally superior in all categories.

These awards are given by NAFAS which is like a union, only those who belong to this association can win the awards– it is for their members. This year NAFAS agreed to include their members whose work include shows that are shown on the web as well. It is a not a matter of where the show is seen, as long as their members have made it and fits the other criteria to be eligible.

Not every show on the web would meet those requirements or are members of NATAS so they have their own award system, but AMC and OLTL did and that is why they were included. In would be unfair of them to exclude members of their own association for an industry award just because it was not shown on a conventional network.

I think they did the right thing by making the amendment and allowing web series as long as they meet the other criteria as well. They did this with the night time Emmy awards too, to include shows shown on Netflix etc.

Ok, 1. The networks shows are obviously not “exceptionally superior in all categories” since the web series’ won in several categories. 2. Saying it’s “not fair to network shows that spend countless amounts of money producing their shows”. How is that not fair? How does that put the network shows at some unfair disadvantage? It’s the web shows that are at a disadvantage. The networks have the money and the already established power bases. If a web series wins under those circumstances then it is well deserved

Congratulations to OLTL and AMC .Well done in the technical categories and also in the acting.
However, the story-telling was just not on the same high level and the dedicated actors and the
ants the devoted viewers needed and deserved better writing.

ITA w/you —the internet-WI-FI is the wave of the future & in a few years I see ALL PROGRAMMING going to the internet! Some ppl can’t accept that fact & can’t accept changes either! Wake up to those who are still watching cable on TV– this will be a thing of the past- as you will be watching via computers/internet and TV’s are already featuring WI-FI capabilities!

I am so tired of hearing ppl complain about OLTL & AMC being online and blaming PP for everything! PP tried to help the fans-& for that I applaud them! I am so very happy to see OLTL & AMC win the categories listed above! Irene- ITA w./you on the online venue of soaps! It is the WAVE OF THE FUTURE!! In a few years, I believe everything will be watched online & cable as we know it will be obsolete! Cable companies will all become 100% totally WI-FI internet based. We already have TV’S WITH INTERNET BUILT-IN- & HULU & other online programs! I also enjoyed watching my 2 soaps via HULU & watching on my time! It was so much more convenient & flexible watching it online & if they are revived I hope they come back on HULU!

I, like so many ALL MY CHILDREN fans, was so elated to have the show back, only to see it not flourish as an on-line presentation.
If the show can ever come back, and frankly I don’t really see how unless fans will totally accept a whole new cast – that would be astonishing. I still think they should combine the remnants of OLTL and AMC and build it into a new show – I think many fans feel this way since both shows feature characters from Agnes Nixon.
I am happy that the shows were included in the Daytime Emmy Awards and acknowleded for their contributions – just wish they would return.
