His reel rides circles for days around all the rest.

    Competition? Not even close.

  2. su0000 says:

Greg Rikaart (Kevin, The Young and the Restless)
He hasn’t received the notice he deserves, Greg is very talented and has brought many great performances to Y&R.

    Celia replied

Yes, SuzieQ….Greg deserves to win. He walks among the best. You should start watching DOOL.
I was so happy to finally see him on the show when I returned. Soooo good to see his familiar face, albeit he is starting out on the wrong foot, LOL.
I like Vaughn very much, but can’t compare to Rikaart as a heart-stealer.
I just hope that Wes Ramsey is not nominated next year. I dislike the character ( Peter) as much as I do Carly. Can’t stand him.
What’s with the flipping of the lighter? What is the fascination with fire? Is he a pyromaniac? I don’t know if we’re to take the image as a portent of doom….burning down the building?

    Jimh replied

I dont care for Peter as well…and its obvious he has fallen for Maxi!!!

    su0000 replied

    hey! Celia ,,
I give you *and others) for watching 3 or 4 soaps..
How y’all find the time, dunno..

I watch Y&R then GH, in bed before I sleep..
I get both watched in about an hours time.
(I whitelist this site, right thing to do)

I’d love to watch DOOL, perhaps some night.. however! we all know the ‘effort’ to get into a new soap, it takes months to even get hold of it all.

Peter; the lighter was Faison’s, and ”surprise” it will tag him a Faison’s son, of course (predictable)
Peter is OK , dull and mostly not noticed lol ..

Roger, his portrayal of a haunted man from child abuse is a big BRAVO!
I can understand his wanting to kill the man, it’s a true emotion…

    Phyllis Fontaine DeMarco replied

Su, what does whitelist mean? You whitelist this site? How does that work-sorry for my ignorance.

    su0000 replied

    Hi Phyllis,

    I use an ad blocker.
Michael has ads, the ads help keep his site going.
So- when use whitelist and I click on here I see the ads and will click on some.

ok- whitelisted- allows sites that display ad content to be seen when you use an ad blocker. It’s the opposite of a blacklist, which tells all the places ads can’t appear.
Also- whitelist does way more, but that’s all I use it for, my ad blocker offers whitelisting.

((it’s just an auto pause of my ad blocker to turn on the ads here))

    Phyllis Fontaine DeMarco replied

Thanks Su! Appreciate the reply and info-had no idea. xox

    Celia replied

    Hey, su,
Yeah, I know it’s Faison’s lighter…but, Peter seems to fall into some kind of trance, as he flicks it on and off. Weird!
Methinks he wants Maxie, as Jimh said.
Anyway, I think the Emmy win is between the two Gregs…..agree with everyone.

  3. Jimh says:

    Greg Vaughn..

  4. Alan says:

Greg Rikaart and Greg Vaughn’s submissions great performances but I think Chandler Massey will win — his tape has a strong arc and a variety of material that will appeal to the judges.

  5. Mateo says:

This one is hard for me. The choices were all good but I really feel like it’s a tie between Chandler Massey and Greg Rikaart. Great actors both of them. Chandler’s reel was more emotive, and him and Paul together make me ummm…..happy? Okay we’ll roll with the happy one…lol…This is too close to call…but I’ll stretch my hand out and say Chandler Massey.

  6. Mo says:

I don’t know who should win. I like Chandler, but don’t know if he had enough to win. Greg is good too.

  7. James R. Poissant says:

I’m torn between Greg Rikaart’s reel and Anthony Montgomery’s reel. Those were both powerful to me.

  8. dmr says:

I’m a Wally Kurth fan. Love Ned Quartermaine. Not too keen on the other nominees.

  9. Steve says:

Of the scenes that were submitted, the two GH actors have the strongest reels. Montgomery shined in what little he was given. Kurth is consistently good and the pep talk to Tracy was quite wonderful.

The second half of Rikaart’s reel puzzled me. It really seemed as it belonged to Judith Chapman.

  10. Soaphound says:

I’m all for the wonderful Greg Rikaart. He brings a tone of humor and goofy sexiness in addition to brilliant dramatic ability. His recent one-off returns to the show highlight what a bright light we’ve lost on Y&R. And why? To bring back and then totally TRASH J.T. Hellstrom? Or the new, creepy Kyle? TPTB really blew it letting Greg go.

  11. ChandlerFan says:

Actually, I’m with those who are on the fence about Chandler Massey, liking what I’ve seen of his return debut, but knowing he’s capable of so much more.

As always, he shines his brightest in scenes with Deidre Hall and Alison Sweeney. But, I’m still waiting for that special spark of chemistry that classic-Chandler provided with a simple smile, laugh, or gesture.

I can only assume that it is by design that this subdued new “Memphis” Will Horton behaves confusingly differently from the cherubic yet deeply-conflicted Will Horton of the past.

Perhaps when his character finally remembers his past, his character will revert to form.

Or, maybe I’m just an idiot who doesn’t know fine art when he sees it.

    Patrick replied

Chandler Massey : ” I’ve never seen a character, ever, who is so loved and cared for”

in my decades of; how does this happen

across the board appeal. sublime intrigue. endearing like no other

    I LOVE HIM – always

    he’s a juggernaut talent

he’s not being written like the STAR of the show… he just belongs with us

his contribution is more than the LGBT “angle” HOW DOES HE DO IT ?

GONE IS THE smirk. that in itself is change. he’s playing the dynamic of his character presence unlike no other @DAYS.

I LOVE Paul that much more.. because the chemistry is OUT their. I LOVE Freddie Smith even more. I love … again… Chandler Massey

    there’s no reason to quantify – THIS – trio… Paul / Will / Sonny

GET THIS GH : Drew / Sam / Jason. oh well

my Paul / Sonny / Will continue to give life to Salem. what a heartbeat.

    IRENE M ADAMS replied

Don’t understand Chandliers return work. No definite fav here.

  12. JMER says:

This seems to be a Chandler Massey year. He had so much to offer in his clips. It’s not easy to pull off all that camp and still make scenes grounded in real emotion.

I can see why Wally would submit scenes from his last year with Jane. He should’ve just submitted scenes from Tracy’s going away storyline and the reel would’ve been stronger.

Anthony Montgomery really is impressive especially in his scenes with Finola and Vinessa. It’s too bad GH never took the time to give him much else to do but that is what GH does with most of its actors and actresses. Sorry to see him go. I think he deserves the award as well but knowing how much work Chandler did on his return story and knowing Anthony really didn’t have many scenes at all (or a coherent story) makes all the difference to me. Still, the fact that Anthony made all his scenes work so well without a decent story for him makes me feel that he is THAT good.

I love Greg Vaughn from various shows but just don’t think his reel is strong enough. Now if we got out his Queen Sugar reel then I’d be like, OK you win!

    Patrick replied

Anthony Montgomery : look how good he is now, w/Finola Hughes. get it

his dance with Anna alone; was boogie get out of the way sensuality …trot to HOT

    this is a pairing intelligent

@GH continues to bubble gum dumb down and showcase dead on arrival.. dullard stink

we bear witness to all the rest of the cast. I can forget : Sonny and Carly, Jason and Sam, Michael, Finn, Franco.

    I can forget this show

Frank Valentini has got to go

    JMER replied

While I agree with you on the Carly/Double Jason/Sonny/Franco (and let’s add Valentin) show, they definitely should be pairing up and writing for Jordan and Andre. Just look at the scene with them breaking up–it says is ALL and that’s why it was the lead clip in the reel. That’s when I said, Wow, this guy can ACT, for the first time since they never give him much to do. Besides, some of that chem from the breakup is real life chemistry–the two are dating in real life. And really for me, he and Anna just come off as friends having a nice time together, although I love them as friends and he’s not the worst choice at all on canvas for her. In fact, he’s probably the best choice out of all of her love interests post-Duke. Since he’s off the show, it doesn’t matter anyway. I’m sure he’ll get much better material now that he’s off the show and doing other things.

  13. jaybird369 says:

Greg Vaughan…TOTALLY!!!!! As for the rest of them…N-O.

  14. Patrick says:

Greg Vaughan is thee … one and only … HOTTEST male species

    VOTE HIM , Please

  15. Patrick says:

My Ned – solid – dependant – HERE

Ned Quartermaine resonates pulse quickens direct connect

blow this up should he win

    Patrick replied

    I ended with : – drive -

    dreamy trance

if he gives you a YES

    DRIVE something argh!

  16. Patrick says:

OK – I’ve said it for three : @GH Andre and Ned ; @DOOL Eric

always out of the box: Chandler Massey.

HOTELY Contested – how do you arrive at all this

YOU watch each of the three.. how they drive… how they give us show

I hate this year… so talented so mega watt so pull

    Salute each of them

    so much heart for

  17. Jamesj75 says:

Like others, I, too, think that Greg Vaughan gave the best performance. And I agree with @Patrick about Vaughan’s… um… appeal!

That being said, I can easily see Chandler Massey walking off with yet another Emmy trophy. His acting has indeed improved since his first stint with the show. Emmy voters (daytime as well as nighttime) tend to be creatures of habit: #Emmys So Repetitive!

  18. Satan says:

I’ll go with Greg Vaughan here, though it’s 666% ridiculous that they only allowed Eric & Nicole to openly admit loving each other when Nicole’s departure date was already hard wired into the scripts.

Way too much time wasted pairing her up with literally every other male between the ages of 20 – 60 in Salem and pairing Eric up with Jesus, and the woman who used to babysit him (Jennifer).

    Violet Lemm replied

I think Greg is good for the win, unless Hell freezes over, so keep those fires stoked!

  19. ChandlerFan says:

By the way, regarding Chandler Massey’s reel — it makes my blood boil to see the character Will NOT FIGHT BACK against being choked, again! We were not even watching a flashback, it was an entirely new second event.

Even putting aside the actor-swapping, the character of Will should have learned from his first near-death experience that not fighting back was a losing position.

If Will had fought back, it would have shown either that his character had learned from experience, and was thus growing — or else it would have shown that this “Memphis” version of Will indeed had developed a different personality from his previous incarnation.

Regardless, the re-enactment scene should have ended with Ben suffering a broken nose, lying in a crumpled heap on the floor.

    ChandlerFan replied

The life-lesson from being strangled, twice, is that Will needs to take self-defense martial arts training.

Apparently Will is also a lousy marksman, only wounding EJ with a head shot. Grandpa Roman should encourage Will to practice at the Salem Police Department shooting range. Cousin JJ can show Will how to shoot to paralyze; while Gaby, Sami, and Hope all can show Will how to shoot to kill in self defense.

    Stephen replied

LOL, didn’t like five people shoot at EJ? Only Will hit the target! And he was 14 at the time, and had probably never shot a gun before! And he can hardly be blamed for not learning from something he does not remember!

I appreciate your sentiment. Will is a fighter! He used to hit kids who teased him at school, and punched bag at the gym in Massey’s first run. He fought back against Jensen, who had a gun. He’s also the nephew of a boxer, and I imagine he got some training in when he stayed with Austin and Carrie back in 2008. They should show Will being badass again.

    ChandlerFan replied

To be clear, what angers me about Will’s failure to fight back (twice) is the perpetuation of the stereotypical misconception that homosexuals must be limp-wristed, defenseless lispers.

  20. Candozier1 says:

Those all look like great submissions! Wouldn’t mind Chandler winning but the others gave good performances as well, in particular, Anthony Montgomery & Greg Rikaart. Am interested in seeing how far they take Leo on DOOL

  21. Phil says:

    Greg Vaughn deserves this one!
