It’s official, David Kreizman and Donna Swajeski have been named the new co-head writers of All My Children leading the new creative regime, after the exit of the maligned Chuck Pratt. Brian Frons, President, Disney ABC-Television group said, “David and Donna are the perfect team to bring new ideas to All My Children while remaining true to its core by telling stories with a focus on the integrity of the show’s history, its characters and families on the canvas.”
Donna Swajeski began her career working on All My Children as a program executive, her writing credits include Another World, The Bold and the Beautiful, Guiding Light, and Port Charles. Swajeski said about her appointment, “Working with Agnes Nixon was a highlight of my career. My first job in soaps was as Director of Daytime at ABC. I was assigned to, among other soaps, AMC. I remember sitting next to Agnes in meetings and marveling at how she always went right to the heart of scenes. How she brilliantly crafted the dreamers, the strivers, the connivers, the heroes — so that we loved everyone of them. At times, Pine Valley was more real to me than Manhattan. I was lucky to learn how to tell story at the feet of a true Master”.
David Kreizman, helmed the writing chores at Guiding Light from 2004-2009, and started on that team back in 1997, and of course, as of late he had been writing for As the World Turns. As writing partners in crime, David and Donna won the 2007 Daytime Emmy for best writing for Guiding Light. They are also WGA award winners.
