Another General Hospital cast member has been confirmed by an show rep to On-Air On-Soaps as being temporarily recast. It happens to be none other than fan favorite Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones). This is on the heels of the news that Tyler Christopher is also taking a leave from the show as Nikolas Cassadine.
As daytime fans know, Storms left the show once before for medical reasons back in the fall of 2011 and was off the series for almost a year.
At that time, Storms was replaced by now DAYS star, Jen Lilley (Theresa). No reason has been given as to why Storms is off the series as of now. Daytime Confidential first brought to light the switch.
This time Storms has been recast with another member of the Salem family, Molly Burnett! The young actress who has played Melanie Jonas on and off for several years starting from 2008-2012, and reprising the role in 2014-2015, and once again in 2016.
Look for Burnett to first appear on-screen in episodes of GH in July.
That means with the casting news of Bree Williamson as Claudette, Burnett will be involved in front-burner story as Maxie when her romance with Nathan (Ryan Paevey) is headed for more stormy waters.
