The Outstanding Daily Drama Series category is back in the just announced nominations for the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards and All My Children and Days of our Lives were chosen as the soap opera nominees for their representations of gay characters in daytime. For AMC, Bianca and Marissa, and for DAYS, Sonny and Will.
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization. By recognizing and honoring media for outstanding images of the LGBT community, the GLAAD Media Awards serve as a benchmark for the media industry and complement GLAAD’s work to bring LGBT images and stories to Americans. The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.
The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held in New York on March 24, 2012 at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square; in Los Angeles on April 21 at the Westin Bonaventure; and in San Francisco on June 2 at San Francisco Marriott Marquis.
