On her Instagram, Lucci posted a photo of herself as Erica with LaMura’s Mark Dalton sadly expressing: “How can this be? I just received the shocking and deeply saddening news that wonderful Mark LaMura has passed away! Mark played my brother Mark on All My Children–he was such a talented and accomplished actor/ a bright and charming presence in all our AMC lives–and a really great guy. Mark was loved and he will be missed! RIP, my friend.” In story, Mark Dalton shared his greatest on-screen love story with Kathleen Noone’s Ellen Shepherd, and later with the character of Brooke English as played by Julia Barr.

Most notably, LaMura was the key character in another one of Agnes Nixon’s social issue storylines where Mark battled drug addiction from cocaine as illustrated in this clip in this post of the intervention staged by his loved ones. This was evidence of yet another towering performance by LaMura, who was a very distinguished actor throughout his career.
