In a week fraught with medical dramas and injuries by three of the stars on ABC’s, Skating with the Stars competition, including a trip to Cedar-Sinai Hospital’s ER in Los Angeles by All My Children’s, Rebecca Budig (Greenlee), our soap gal remained near the top of the leaderboard.
For this week’s episode there were new demands put on the competing couples. First, it was Story Week and each couple had to tell a Love Story though their performance. Secondly their was a required element and that was the stars had to leap from the ice and have a one foot landing! And that is where the trouble began earlier in the week for Budig, who fell on her wrist and then landed in the ER, and Brooke Castillo landed on her hand and she also who ended up in the ER! However, during tape day, Brandon Mychal Smith fell seriously ill, and so the judges scored a tape of his last rehearsal. But Jonny Weir dissed Smith’s absence, saying that he’s been told not to perform before (and still showed up).
Budig and her skating partner, Fred Palascak performed to Katy Perry’s hit single, Hot and Cold and won raves from the judges for her presentation, technical and artistic merit, landing her slightly below the leader with 50 points. Johnny Moseley and Brooke Castile were at the top of the leaderboard for the night, scoring 51. And it was rocker, Vince Neil who got the boot and was sent packing in the elimination part of the show. Neil even scored lower than Brandon Mychal Smith, who did not even show up to perform, due be taken ill, as mentioned earlier!
Skating with the Stars continues for week 4 of the competition next week on Monday night, December 12, at 8PM on ABC. Check out Budig’s performance below!
