As first reported by On-Air On-Soaps last week in our brand new interview with One Life to Live’s Erika Slezak, the six-time Daytime Emmy winner along with All My Children’s Thorsten Kaye and Vincent Irizarry will be appearing on ABC’s morning talk series, The View this coming Thursday April 25th to promote the premiere episodes of the online revivals of AMC and OLTL on April 29th on Hulu, HuluPlus and iTunes!

According to ABC, the three soap star favorites will join the ladies of The View and special guest co-host singer/songwriter Gretchen Wilson whose latest album is “Right on Time”!  The View airs Weekdays from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, ET/10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, PT on the ABC Television Network.

Now while many may see this as intriguing since ABC canceled AMC and OLTL, it looks as though The View knows that their audience misses their favorite soaps!

Will you be tuning into see Thorsten, Vincent and Erika on The View this Thursday?  Let us know!

YOU ARE ALL A BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES! ABC being sued by PP but turnsaround and promotes PP reboots on ABCs The View? People claim they boycott ABC but will tune in and watch their talk show? PP sues ABC but its ok for them to allow their stars on one of their talk shows? I also wonder…how many people on here did complain about PP back in Nov. 2011 and said they didnt trust PP and said they want nothing to do with them when they announced they had abandon plans to do the reboots? But now PP got their act together and finally are doing them…seems like some changed their names so no one can point their fingers at them. I even read Cady Ms Nov. 2011 facebook page where she blasts PP for not doing their homework and having the money before announcing their first attempt to do the reboots and she even said they were not a class act but since they got their act together and are doing the reboots i guess all is forgiven with her now that she is working for them!

So true, one way or another we are all hypocrites no matter how we try to spin it. Every network has cancelled soaps yet ABC is made to look like murderers, it’s so ridiculous, people are stupid if they think any network cares about the people, their bottom line is money, how to spend less and make more. That’s it period…

CBS cancelled two soaps…ATWT & GL…and NBC cancelled Passions but no one said they were boycotting those networks!

  12. Glenn Beck says:

I find it very interesting that suddenly ABC is publicizing a show they themselves cancelled. I know exactly why, it was mentioned as a factor in the suit with Prospect Park. Part of the deal was they were supposed to help promote the shows, which they had not done at all up to this point! Just like releasing the URL’s for the shows suddenly to PP after news of the lawsuit broke. They are trying to make the suit look as they it has no merit. I read the entire lawsuit and everything in it, from my perspective appears legitimate. They are back pedaling to save face! I am conflicted as to whether I will watch or not but if I do it will ONLY be as support for these wonderful shows and the actors!

Really, there are so many ways to watch The View, I’m not home during the daytime as many people aren’t, I have to work – but I can watch The View show on You Tube and it won’t count (well, I don’t think so) towards ratings…or does it? I surely would like to hear what these three well-known soap veterans have to say about everything, I’m sure it will be on the positive side though some of these actors have been known to be very blunt in expressing their feelings. I don’t like what abc-tv did, but if these shows ever found their way back to abc, which I doubt, I can’t say I wouldn’t record them to watch at night, which is what I did for years.

so pp is suing abc but the view is promoting amc an oltl? ok, yeah, this makes sense! NOT!, it feels like ABC and PP is playing us for fools, and we always fall for it.

You fall for it because you don’t do any kind of research! There is a Reason for ABC promoting AMC and OLTL read the lawsuit you’ll find out!

I have always thought boycott talk of the abc network was silly and hypocritical. How many boycotters pick and choose programs. They say they watch general hospital and the view is ok. Wonder how many watch sports, the academy awards, modern family and countless other shows on abc. Nielsen ratings prove significant numbers even watch the chew as their ratings are pretty good.
Networks cancel shows al the time.. All my children ratings were greatly eroded and the show was almost cancelled in2007 when things really started to tank.

I think the prospect park story is interesting to follow but I doubt I will watch the reboots. I have zero interest in the young crowd and newbies that will dominate. How long do people think the vets will be featured, my guess is not very long.
I totally agree cady McClain is a big hypocrite as the front person for the show but her job options tv wise are kind of exhausted.
I have a lot of respect for Vincent irizarry and hoped he would find other work in TV, kind of shocked he did not.
Thorsten Kaye is another one I am tired of but in the beginning of his run he was terrific as Zach.

Nice post…some of these people claim they boycott abc but then turn around and will watch one of there talk shows? What hypocrites! I bet half of them do watch some shows on ABC! I dont mind the newbies or young crowd but i do believe if these shows are around in a few years the vets will be pushed to backburner and barely used. They are only there to draw in the long time die hard fans for ratings because PP hopes theyll spread the word to younger viewers these shows are on. You do need younger viewers to keep the show going and thats what they care about. I just feel they could care less about they older viewers except for using them. Younger fans will realize this once they get older…i did. Vincent should be a primetime star…Cady is a hypocrite: She blasted PP on her facebook in 2011 but because she cant get other work i guess shes changed her opinion about them.

I don’t care who the guests are-I cannot stand The View. They are loud, obnoxious & talk over each other & get on my last nerve. And I don’t think they truly respect or understand soaps, I really don’t. They kind of make fun of them & yeah, I know soaps can get crazy & but I can criticize since I really love them but I DO NOT like non-soap lovers to make fun of them! It’s like I can gripe about my husband but nobody else better. Anyway, can’t wait for the 29th-long live all of our soaps. To hell with the rest of daytime.

The “rent” (licensing fees) PP pays ABC is nearly $10M per year. The 10+ year license they have is already worth $100M to ABC plus their cut of any profits. Why would they sell their valuable property? And where would PP ever find the cash to pay them enough to make them give up all that perpetual passive income? ABC is NOT trying to sabotage this cash cow, nor are they trying to give up all that money. If anything, if PP keeps making themselves a legal or otherwise pain in the heinie, ABC may eventually simply take the rights back at first opportunity (when the license expires or PP does something to default) or offers the license to another company post-PP that they can actually work with. At the end of the day ABC is still the owner’

Some of the start up cash came from government grants, this was well documented in 2011. I have no idea if grants are still involved. Cannot figure out how prospect park will pay the bills much less their royalties to abc. This is more interesting than the actual show from a business standpoint.
I bet the actors have concerns as well but they cannot say so publicly and most have no job offers elsewhere.

Where exactly was this “well documented”.

“most have no job offers elsewhere.” Boy it is funny how many ppl think they know what goes on in the private lives of these actors!
