17 September 15th, 2010 ATWT: A Snapshot Gallery! Through the Years of the Citizens of Oakdale

How can we sum up 54 years of daytime television by a soap opera so multi-generational in it’s legacy?  It’s a daunting task, but On-Air On-Soaps prepared for you, our fans,  (in honor of the final episode which is fast approaching this Friday), a very special photo gallery presentation.

We present to you an overview snapshot of the familiar faces and characters and actors, who inhabited the fictional town of Oakdale over the course of decades.  We hope you enjoy the captions which reflect our sentiments, whether it be humorous or touching, as we say take a look back at just a cross-section of memories below.

View the gallery after the jump! Remember: to see the “Next Group” of images hit the icon next to the + symbol, or you can just watch it as a slideshow.

Thank you so much Michael. Right now I have so many mixed emotions where the show is concerned. It was good to be reminded of why I was so in love with ATWT place.

Michael, what a beautiful tribute to ATWT. I loved looking back at all those photos and the actors that have been in our lives for so many years. What memories they recall. I commend you, Michael for being such a great journalist with sensitivity and giving the fans such wonderful interviews from ATWT cast members, and now these pictures. Thanks!…..

I was there at the beginning and i’ll be there at the end.Even though I can’t get over the dying of Reid, and Luke left to grieve there were so many good storylines through the years. Most of the actors were wonderful .It’s like losing your best friend…I’ll be sad because with all the wacky scenarios it had a genuine sense of decency that too many shows on Tv just don’t.I’ll be so sad when our world stops turning, but I’m grateful that we had this show for so long!Thank you for the photo gallery….lovely.

Thank you for the great photos and walk down memory lane. While I won’t miss the poor writing, I will miss the show for the great cast!! They all deserved better than what they’ve been given over the last few years.

Thanks for this montage. I love the photo of Luke in the Snyder kitchen… Luke will always be an inspiration. I’ll especially miss Luke, Carly on ATWT.

Loved seeing all these! I especially loved the photo of Benjamin Hendrickson and his daughter Lien: also known as Ming Na, now on Stargate Universe, and the voice of Mulan.

Lien was Tom’s daughter, not Hal’s.

The guy in the B&W photo with Ming-Na (Lien) is the late Michael Louden who played Duke Cramer, Dr. John Dixon’s long-lost son. :-)

The gentleman standing to our rear far right in the 1965 B&W Hughes Family photo with Wagner, Hastings, MacLaughlin, & Prinz is the late Peter Brandon (1926-1983) who played lawyer Don Hughes (Chris & Nancy’s oldest offspring) from 1966 until 1972! :-)

Why are there no pics of Luke and Reid in a romantic pose? They are the it couple the show ended with and we want to have them recognized as such, not ignored!!! I am still upset they never even posted a pic of LuRe on cbs/ATWT web site….what’s with that??

I agree with you… it seems that it’s Luke and Noah existed but Luke and Reid is the supercouple in my opinion. And seeing Janet in more than 1 photo is disturbing me. :(

    Sorry.!

Same thing happened with Paul, Emily, and Meg. Lots of pictures out there of Paul and Meg, who were dysfunctional at the best, but not of Paul and Em who turned out to be the loving, accepting couple that ended up together seemingly for always.
