34 June 9th, 2016 Aussie Actor Alexander Bruszt Done At DAYS!

Courtesy/DAYS&TVWeek

The charming Alexander Bruszt, who won a contest against other formidable young Australian actors for the opportunity to play the role of Dr. Fynn Thompson, has finished his run on NBC’s Days of our Lives, according to this week’s Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now.

Bruszt who is currently involved in a potential romantic storyline with Daytime Emmy winner Mary Beth Evans (Kayla), originally won a 13-week contract, but according to Jason 47′s DAYS facebook page, his contract was extended for additional 26 weeks, and that his run will end at some point this summer on-air.

It appears Bruszt truly impressed the powers-that-be at the daytime drama series to be given more story than originally anticipated.

So, what did you think of Bruszt’s Fynn?¬† Are you enjoying his scenes lately with Mary Beth Evans? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

He was another Daniel-yawn….but he is just a filler character only there to come between Kayla and Patch…and i wish Patch would get rid of that outdated Fonzie meets The Pirates Of The Caribbean look-this show is making my own head spin and with so many loose screws i already have im surprised it hasnt fallen off by now-lol

I liked him very much–handsome, warm, open presence on screen–harked back to the “good ol’ days” on GH when Scorpio came–Tristan Rogers had the same likability.
I’d welcome him on GH anyday–would be a breath of fresh air.
PS For the first day or two I thought they were bringing him on for Nicole–he flirted with her a bit, but, alas, not much face time. BUT he has huge potential with the right writers and situation. Bring him, as I said, to GH, and let the sun shine in!

I did not say I did not like him. He’s gorgeous. I just did not get his presence on the show. What exactly did he do? Why be introduced? To put a wedge between Kayla and Patch? Futile.

I guess they realized they needed a doctor after Daniel died.

I was wondering when he would be leaving as I thought it was short term. He did okay. I don’t think his character was ever truly fully formed and then with Daniel dying, he was like a ship without an anchor.

    Good luck to him.

Hmmm….he’s out, but according to SOD, Days is casting for a new doctor. Like I said, they need a doctor after Daniel died. I wish they’d bring Maxine back. Is the actress busy doing other stuff?

WHY not keep the Aussie? They won’t find a more handsome, serious actor to replace him, I’ll bet on that. He had a bunch of audience appeal.. Oh, well . . . another missed opportunity. (Sigh!)

  3. Soapnexis says:

Glad he’s going. He was never needed. Steve and Kayla don’t need anymore third parties. We lost Bope, we need Steve and Kayla

FIRST of ALL – Australian accents are to drool for

I didn’t mind him in the least bit

he was a nice distraction… with all the influx.. and especially with all the comings and goings of veteran and regular cast members

    1. WE never found out… about his “homemade” MOVIES.. I want to see them

he did do a good job… definitely not off putting and didn’t try to steal the limelight

Fynn Thompson first appeared on November 12, 2015.

they never wrote for him, really.

    best of luck, Alexander Bruszt.

I LIKED Fynn… muchmoreso… than Dr. God Jonas

I have said this before, Patrick. With so many AMERICAN actors out of a job, why hire foreigners?
Also, it is not fair to any actor to hire and fire at will, after only a short stint.
Well, unless there was a previous understanding.

I thought he was really good but wasn’t given that much to do. I sense untapped potential. Maybe GH should grab him up and cast him as a newly discovered Jax brother? It would be great to see some real, meaningful interaction among the members of the Jax family.

Aside from a two and a half months of marginally higher ratings, has anything that Griffith and Higley done been at all successful? They killed, killed & killed and added nothing….Finn, the teen scene, Lani, Shelle, More Hernandezes than anyone need, Rope….good lord, what an epic and well-deserved fail. It’s not that fault of any of the cast really, even the too green teens who were given too much too soon. It’s all the fault of mean-spirited, petty and amoral writing. And the too dark sets.

I thought he was awful I’m sorry to say – good bye and good luck. I just didn’t think his character fit in properly and I found it ridiculous that he would chase after Kayla.
Handsome, yes, I guess he and a million other actors could be handsome, but acting talent and a compelling storyline are what makes or breaks a character.
This show really REALLY needs some interesting storylines ~ and if they insist on constantly adding actors, make certain they are more than just eye candy.

He had nothing to do. Honestly, DROOL does a horrible job at introducing new characters. There are two elephants, one has diamonds in it and one does not.

I would add that they do an equally inept job and bringing back characters. Did Sean Brady have anything to do? Phillip? Belle?

To be sure, the writing and pacing have been awful. If you disagree, that’s fine. I’d point to the ratings and end with that.

Godspeed to the actor. I don’t blame him for an unmemorable stay.

I’m sorry to hear that. They never developed that character in the first place. I thought he did a good job and would have liked to have seen them do something with the character. The very best of luck to Alexander in his future.

I really don’t think TPTB on Days have a clue as to what they are doing. The show is all over the place and going nowhere.

argh! it must be something else… to know… when you are coheadwriting to see what Dena Higley IS doing… spiraling the show !

    ??? Ryan and Dena Higley… start airing… ????

right after the summer Olympics … with that 2 week hiatus… are they going to be featuring this pair… with cliff hangers and surprises galore just before the break

    I truly am… only watching… faithfully… because of

    Daniel Cosgrove…. Aiden

That comment is right on the money, the show is going in too many different directions right now and is not centered.
The writers need to get it together.

Just more revolving door stuff at Days. No chance to connect to characters because they are in and out so fast. If you bring on a new character viewers need time to connect and invest with them. They come and go so fast there is no chance. The show is more like As the World Turns. Soaps were successful in the day because you felt a connection to characters and invested in storylines, but people come and go and storylines are all over the place there is no chance to want to stay and follow. As soon as you start connecting and investing they are out the door.

I kind of liked him. He’s handsome & charming & did a decent job. But as Mo said, they never developed his character. I didn’t want him with Kayla [I want her with Steve] but I wouldn’t have minded him sticking around.

Ludicrous to put him with Kayla–he was her DOCTOR, for goodness’ sake!
And that “story line” was really rushed–should have brought him along gradually.
Mark my words, TPTB; you’ll be sorry you let him slip away. GH, get on the phone and snag him!

Wish they’d bring in Walt Wiley (AMC’s Jackson Montgomery) to be the new doc ! WHY NOT?! I sure miss his handsome face…and he’d be such a great love interest for Eve when she comes back. What a great couple that would make…eek! Just sayin’.

Yeah, Tivette. I have always liked Walt Willey….but, he may be retired. I guess it depends what age group TPTB are considering.

I no longer DVR the show; I may catch it every now and then while at home during lunch. Originally, I only tuned back in a few years ago when Kristen returned. After Eileen Davidson left the show, I didn’t find it all that interesting. The teen scene seems to be the focal point nowadays, and the acting and storylines are dreadful amongst the youngsters. It’s too bad.. New characters seem to come and go fairly quickly, so this exit does not surprise me.

Why was he there? Other than an attempt at trying to clone Daniel? As for Kayla well her constant whining and negativity which this character enabled grew very tiresome! Having loved Kayla for years, I found myself wishing Steve would just punch the dingo and walk out on Kayla! Demanding a man be some thing he is not and attempting to ruin a unique character (Steve) does not win my kudos. This version of Kayla, so lacking in sweetness lost her luster in this storyline!
