6 July 1st, 2011 B&B Gets a Major Fashion Makeover: Colleen Bell named Director Special Projects!

The Bold and the Beautiful the domestic and international soap opera hit, is getting another face-lift! And this time it’s in the wardrobe and representing what it is all about… the world of fashion.   So Brad Bell and his team have decided it’s time for a fashion makeover within the series with its mainstay characters and their waring fashion houses… Forrester and Jackie M.

Enter Colleen Bell, an style maven in every sense of the word, who has decided to help the show look fashion forward. The series has named her Director of Special Projects and her first order of business is to update the fashion and give the characters a new look.

Colleen told TV Guide “We really need to push the envelope. Brad and I would be watching the show together and I’d see what everyone was wearing and be really bothered by it. B&B should be a benchmark for fashion. People should be tuning in going, ‘I can’t wait to see what Hope wears today!’ We want them saying, ‘Did you see Steffy rocking those leather pants?’ I saw a need and knew I could fill it. We’re overhauling the entire wardrobe department and integrating the clothes, hair and makeup so that B&B is relevant and cool. Every character, including the men, is getting a distinct look.”

Some of things Colleen has already accomplished with the show: She recruited designer Monique Lhulier (Kristen Stewart, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez) to gown the runway models on the show’s new opening sequence.  She also talked leading lady Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) into that new, shorter ‘do that’s been wining raves from the fans. Bell handpicked stylist Danielle King (Ally McBeal) to be the soap’s new wardrobe designer and they joined forces for the July 5-6 wedding of Ridge and Taylor.”

So soapers,  which characters on B&B wearing would you like to see wearing an outfit from what designers? Let us know.

What’s major about the fact that Brad Bell hired his wife for the job? Just asking!

Why don’t they hire a new writer?Dumbest soap biggest waste of talent hire great actors and still show old man Ridge!!!

  3. Edgar says:

I agree that the show needs better writing than fashion advice. However, I think it is VERY funny that the quotes mention Steffy, Hope and Brooke while there is NO mention of Stephanie. For years, Stephanie has been dressed extremely inappropriately to be the matriarch on a show that is suppose to be concerned about fashion, style, and glamor. If Colleen Bell doesn’t immediately put Stephanie in something other than those horrible monotone pant suits and put a stylish wig over that butch gray hair, she clearly is not qualified for the job. Stephanie’s appearance is so bad that it actually hurts the plots on the show. Every time I hear Stephanie or one of the other characters even hint at the idea that Eric would still be romanitically interested in her, I chuckle. Stephanie needs a MAJOR and IMMEDIATE complete make over.

I think Stephanie is ill. But they really need to concentrate on being more multicultural. Why are the African Americans on Bells Soaps so ugly. Daisy could have been a prettier girl. Everyone on there is beautiful except her. Look at the Ugly Malcom on Y&R.

I want Liam to remember seeing Steffy in bed with his brother. Maybe then he can move on with Ivy. I also want Ridge to shave and groom himself. As well as finally be put in his place. Who better to do that than Brooke. She needs to remember his judgemental history with her. And back the man whos always had her back “Eric”. Let her son grow up and stand or fall on his own. Give Eric the shares Bill gives her. And let Eric find out (and he will) what Quinn is about. She always shows her colors, and Erics not stupid.
