2 June 10th, 2011 B&B Wins Monte Carlo TV Festival Award as Best Telenovela/Soap Opera!

Just a few short hours ago in Monte Carlo, The Bold and the Beautiful picked up the International TV Audience Award in the Telenovelas/Soap Opera category at the 6th annual The Monte-Carlo TV Festival, honoring programs that have gathered the highest number of viewers globally in 2010 across five continents in three categories: Drama TV Series, Comedy TV Series and Telenovelas/Soap Operas.

Accepting for The Bold and the Beautiful were Heather Tom (Katie) and Patrick Duffy (Stephen).  The nominees were pre-selected from the fifteen best performing foreign fiction programs in 67 countries – a market of almost 3 billion potential viewers!

Congrats to the BOLD!

    I like the Bold and the Beautiful it is telenovela style but Port Charles was the first American telenovela, B/B is a glamorous old school soap opera true to the genre that features its vets in top tier story.

    Yes it has its flaws but no show is 100% (maybe except The Good Wife) overall I find it quite entertaining. I must not be alone they are huge in Italy (and other foreign countries) e.g. South Africa went crazy at the airport an unbelievable crowd when Brandon and Jacque, and Jack visited..
