Former As the World Turns star and recent Tony nominee, Billy Magnussen, whose career has really taken off these days has now been made series regular in the upcoming new series from David Milch for HBO titled, The Money!   Magnussen also was recently cast into the film adaptation of  the Broadway musical Into the Woods!

According to Deadline.com, “Billy has been cast in the role of Greg Castman — the middle, and favorite, child of mogul/patriarch James Castman (Brendan Gleeson), who wields power and influence to expand his media empire and control his clan.”

The cast also includes as series regular or recurring players:  Mamie Gummer, Rosemary Harris, Ray Liotta and Nathan Lane!  This new show certainly has some very soapy potential to it with its plot, and certainly since it involves the rich and powerful, and plenty of backstabbing and power plays!

So what do you think of the success of Mr. Magnussen? Does The Money sound like a show you might just want to check out?  Let us know!

I loved BM as CH on ATWT. I wish him Good Luck! May he do very well as GC on this new show. He is one of the few ATWT actors who is employed consistently and is doing really well. He is a talented actor and he deserves the success he is having.

In VANYA, SONIA, etc. on Broadway he brought unexpected comedy chops to the role of Sigourney Weaver’s boy toy. He matched the rest of the sterling cast moment for moment. And he is one of the most spectacular-looking men I’ve ever seen live on stage.
