5 March 23rd, 2011 BREAKING: Elizabeth Taylor dead at 79!

Legendary screen actress. Elizabeth Taylor died this morning in Los Angeles, she was 79 years old.  Taylor who had been battling so many health issues over recent years died of congestive heart failure with her children by her side at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center.

Taylor won three Oscars, including a special one for her humanitarian work, and was one of the founders of AMFAR, and with her name and devotion to the foundation helped the world with her efforts to raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS research.

To soap fans, Elizabeth Taylor to this day is the biggest star ever to grace daytime with her historic and memorable performances as the original Helena Cassadine at the heyday of the Luke and Laura storyline back in 1981.  Later she was rumored to have a short relationship with Tony Geary (Luke) that was recently confirmed by Geary (Luke) on The Oprah Winfrey Show.  Who cannot forget the immortal soap words of Taylor as Helena, “My curse on you Laura and Luke. My curse on both of you.”

    A true beauty who lived her life to the fullest and used her name and money to help many causes close to her heart.The word “Star’ is thrown around too easily sometimes but Elizabeth Taylor was a true star in every sense of the word!!!!

    All these moments you have brought us,Michael, are outstanding. I did not forget them, but it was lovely to remember.So many great moments between Luke and Laura.They choke me up. And to be able to see Liz Taylor with that gorgeous face was a wonderful memory of a great lady. I will always remembe her and her movies and her loves. Rest in peace Elizabeth….Thanks again, Michael…….
