Finally the Canadian fans prayers have been answered, so they can see all-new episodes and the returns of iconic soap operas, All My Children and One Life to Live. The Online Network just released confirmation that FX Canada will be the exclusive Canadian television broadcast home of the two soaps, making it as of now the only North American broadcaster currently airing AMC and OLTL.  And yes, they will start to air on FX Canada concurrently when they run online in the U.S on the premiere date of April 29th!

Here is the official press release with all the exciting details!  “FX Canada pumps up the drama, the passion, and the scandal with the exclusive Canadian broadcast of brand-new, 30-minute episodes of beloved serial dramas, All My Children and One Life to Live. Breathing new life into the popular series with an edgier and sexier spin, both programs reignite the classic franchises with modern themes, fresh new faces, and the return of fan-favourite characters. The long-running serial dramas premiere Monday, April 29, airing weekdays starting with All My Children at noon ET/2 p.m. PT, followed by One Life to Live at 12:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT, exclusively on FX Canada. FX Canada is the only television network in North America to offer the new, re-imagined All My Children and One Life to Live series to subscribers.  Produced by Prospect Park’s The Online Network (TOLN) All My Children and One Life to Live will be available in the United States through online stream via www.hulu.com, to subscribers through Hulu Plus, and for purchase on iTunes.

FX Canada is the exclusive broadcaster of critically acclaimed and envelope-pushing hit series such as American Horror Story, Louie, Wilfred, and The Americans.

All My Children and One Life to Live are a unique addition to FX Canada’s slate of provocative and critically-acclaimed dramas,” said Scott Moore, President of Broadcast, Rogers Media. “As the only television channel in North America broadcasting these new series, FX Canada continues its commitment to deliver exclusive, premium content to its viewers.”

Our partnership with Rogers answers an overwhelming demand from viewers in Canada to access our transformed All My Children and One Life to Live programming, and incrementally furthers our footprint across all of North America. We have the fans to thank for forging this partnership, and bringing their shows to Canada,” said Prospect Park’s Rich Frank. “We are grateful to the team at Rogers Media including Keith Pelley, President, Scott Moore, and Malcolm Dunlop, Executive Vice-President of Programming and Operations for sharing our vision and empowering our network to reach this very significant audience.”

AMC and OLTL would be perfect on MTV…with Jcow still part of that station, and it with the club Shelter its music might take MTV back to its roots. Not everyone can go online so heres its chance for more viewers and ratings!

PP hooking up with FX Canada means the soaps have created another stream of revenue.. the more money coming in, the more that can be brought in for the show.. the more likely it’s to be deemed a success!

I am so happy for our northern friends and fellow fans of our beloved soaps! I have seen many of them post about not being able to access Hulu or any other venue to watch OLTL and AMC. What a great job prospect park and FX Canada dud, I bet ABC is just kicking themselves for letting those shows go, at least I hope they are. I am so looking forward to seeing the edgier versions of my peeps in LLanview and Pine Valley. :) yippe! Thank you PP and Hulu. I upgraded my hulu account just because they are showing my soaps and I wanted to support them for their part in bringing them back to us fans.

That’s great for them but still sucks for me! I don’t have the internet at home so I won’t be watching. If they put it on FX here, I can.

Perhaps, you can stay at work a little longer or go in a little earlier and watch at your desk or whichever computer you are using now. The episodes can be watched at your convenience and don’t have to be watched at any given time. Find a friend with a computer and watch together; perhaps a few episodes at a time. Just some suggestions.

    FX is cool !!
American Horror Story, The Americans, Sons Of Anarchy, Justified, etc etc ..
Have/show full nudity, shows the ‘nasty’ (intercourse) , uses the f… word among others, shows the full happening of x-rated-crimes, some of its’ programs are very explicit ..
(hmm is will host our 2 soaps)

Ahhh :( network TV just can not compete , any-longer..

Your comments make you sound perverted…are you deliberately trying to force the more conservative AMC and OLTL fans to judge and not watch these shows b4 they air! Thats what your childish immature comments will do when you make it sound like these online shows are going to be tasteless porno! I myself dont mind certain curse words and some sexual situations as long as its kept in good taste but you make it sound tacky. Thats no way to convince some fans to watch!

    su0000 replied

I said nothing as to the 2 soaps, it was about FX’s programming ..
The soaps will not be censored on FX, is all..

As for the rude comment of ‘perverted’ there a 4 million people whom watch FX/those shows, they are very popular and do have a fan base..
    It is cable..
Again, read with compression, the comments were of the FX shows, not the soaps.. whatever you have assumed came from your mind :)
The ”Conservative” fans will have to watch and judge for themselves, not assume; you are assuming, yes.. :)
I know with certainty that both soaps will be presented with dignity of their core, but modern.
Enjoy the soaps.. they will be awesome..

    Patrick replied

American Horror Story – w/the fabulous Jessica Lange….

    makes this “program” interesting.

    it’s renewed for a third season….

not many can say as much.

    ———————-
I like how the article states – “classic franchise”.

i’m jubilant… on the return of these staples.

heck, i envy our canadians’ – soaps on tv… it just seems easier… to watch and record.

I apologize but still when you mention these fx shows, ive watched american horror story, it does kinda insinuate that fx airs only shows with that kinda content making some assume that our beloved soaps will contain the exact same content too. What ive read so far about the soaps wont stop me from watching again but after reading some previous comments from other fans in the past who fear Prospect Park will go to far will these shows will think exactly that with your comments about the other shows they carry. Your comments are harmless to me, im just saying it could give others the wrong idea!

    jip replied

I apologized for the perverted part but instead of mentioning fx for its programs adult content id mention the fine writing and acting on these shows instead. Like id said before, others will get the wrong idea about the soaps content even if you didnt mention them because it does sound like you were hinting what the soaps might contain just by mention what the other fx shows contain in theirs!

    Hey Susan,

There are three options and not two! Hulu Plus and iTunes are fee-based with Hulu Plus without commercials and iTunes you could watch it on your Iphone or Ipad.

However, if you have internet access you can just simply use Hulu.com to watch it. You will just have to listen or mute the commercials.

    Because Soap Net is:

    A) Supposedly becoming a Disney Jr channel. So who knows how much longer Soap Net will be on for.

    B) Owned by Disney, which owns ABC, the bastards who cancelled AMC and OLTL in the first place.

    C) It wouldn’t solve the problem for most (or all?) Canadians to put it on that channel, as that station is not provided in Canada either….unless unlawfully obtained.

And just as good news, Rogers will still be able to track me and my interest in the show through ROD, which sends a good message to them that people are watching.

FX Canada is not part of basic cable, so the cable company will charge extra to have that channel, or you might have to subscribe to a package to get it. So you wouldn’t have to pay for the soaps, but you will have to pay for the channel. Also, not every cable or satellite company carries FX Canada, so you will have to check with yours to see if they have it available.

This is great but Why are the shows only a half hour instead of an hour long? The stated time is 1200pm et for all my Children and 12:30 PM ET for One Life to Live..

    Reply

    Mary SF replied

Prospect Park ( who is producing the show) doesn’t have the deep pockets ABC had for production. Therefore, the rebooted version of these soaps will be shorter in length. I believe I heard the on line version is shorter than a half an hour, so FX Canada must of factor in commercials to get the half an hour figure. Maybe, if successful and PP makes money on it, they might consider going for a longer format, but for now it will be old school- short but sweet.

Congratulations Canada! FX bringing OLTL & AMC into your living rooms again is fantastic! Hopefully, FX will do the same in the states & SOON! Am happy to have them back & will make do via HuluPlus on AppleTV. But nothing beats watching our faves everyday on full screen TV, complete with fast forwarding & rewind. You can back up on Hulu but not advance. Sometimes you want to go back and hear a particular scene & then advance, Hulu doesn’t allow that. Fast forwarding ads is now the norm, sponsors should go with product placement instead. Seinfeld perfected the art of product placement. Far more effective then commercials people ignore. So way to go FX Canada, I know your ratings will go thru the roof, both live viewing & DVR recording!!! Your proving the fans voices are being heard & eventually the USA will hear the roar! Again, Congrats Canada & many thanks to Canadian FX for paving the way!
