Breaking news late today in the soap world! The Young and the Restless has issued an official press release and statement that the series co-executive producer, the legendary Paul Rauch, is departing his position with the series and heading back to the east coast, effective April 1,2011.
Rauch, who was named Co-Executive Producer of The Young and the Restless in September, 2008, spent many years as executive producer for shows including the daytime dramas, Another World, One Life to Live, Santa Barbara, and Guiding Light.
“My collaboration with Steve Kent, and Maria and Bill Bell has been very rewarding,” Rauch said. “I have had great pleasure working with ‘Y&R’s’ magnificent cast and crew. I feel that I’ve accomplished everything that I set out to achieve, and it’s now time for me to return to New York.”
“Y&R has benefitted tremendously from Paul Rauch’s experience and knowledge,” said Y&R Executive Producer/Head Writer Maria Bell. “I’ve enjoyed our working relationship and wish him all the best.”
