6 December 16th, 2009 BREAKING NEWS: Stephen Nichols in as Y&R’s Tucker McCall!

Talk about a ”quickie”  The Young and the Restless has decided to drop William Russ in the role of filthy rich business mogul, Tucker McCall, and replace him with former Days of Our Lives super duper soap star Stephen Nichols (Patch). Nichols is set to being taping December 17 and will appear on air January 27.   According to this item from TV Guide Magazine:  “The Y&R execs have kept their statements brief. Co-exec producer/head writer Maria Arena Bell says: “William Russ is a talented actor and we enjoyed working with him. However, we decided to take the character in another direction.” Adds co-exec producer Paul Rauch: “[Russ] did a wonderful job while he was here.”

It is highly speculated that Tucker will eventually be revealed to have a shocking connection to a major denizen of Genoa City!  Can you guess who it is?

   I’m happy that Stephan Nickols will be coming to Y&R. He has always been one of my favorite actors.I think he may be Katherine Chancellors son. What do you think about that?? The missing child could be a boy or a girl! I I didn’t care for William Rush’s performance.I thought he was a liitle bit hammy..Do we know the cause of his leaving?….

   sorry to see William Russ leaving this week and I can’t see Jill being with a younger man but on soaps they do!! I hope we see Russ elsewheres and wish him all the best and hope NIchols can fill his shoes! Maybe the writers can make this Tucker have a better attitude towards Mrs.C !

   I was very disappointed to find out that we had a new tucker mcCall. He was doing a great job. What on earth happened to have Patch replaced him? I’ am really upset. He was the most exciting thing to happen to Y&R in a long time. Bring him back. Pleez………………………

   I am sorry to see the young and the restless replace tucker mcCall but I will give Stephen Nichols a chance because I think he is a good actor.
