7 November 29th, 2010 UPDATE BREAKING NEWS: The Young and the Restless renewed for 3 more years!

Update on the news from this morning of The Young and the Restless being renewed by CBS for three more years through the 2013-2014 television season.

CBS put out an official press release today that stated, “The Young and the Restless has been the #1 daytime drama on television for more than two decades, as well as an enduring symbol of CBS’s success in the daypart,” said Barbara Bloom, Senior Vice President, Daytime, CBS.

“Our audience’s beloved characters in Genoa City will continue to flourish under the leadership of Head Writer and Executive Producer Maria Bell and the wonderful storytelling ahead.”

The news of the renewal was first posted early this morning on the CBS  twitter page.  Here was the message in the tweet, “Hey Young & the Restless fans – TV’s #1 daytime drama has been renewed for three more years!”

Great news for soap fans!

    AWESOME NEWS! Was there any doubt!? Young and the Restless is the NUMBER ONE show in all of daytime, 18 years now, for a reason. It’s consistenly fresh, extremely entertaining and they employ not only the best production values of a daytime soap, but also have some of the most talented actors in the business. This is wonderful news to old and new fans alike! REJOICE!!!

    Hey, don’t tell me that Diane is going after Nick, or vice versa? You know this show is like playing Russian Roulette. Are the writers’ crazy? Is Ronan going to be wriiten off the show or is he going to be saved by a miracle? I don’t want Kevin to be with Chloe because of Daisy’s baby. either. And at this point, I’m tired of caring about Sharon. Where is the good news?….

    As far as Ronan’s illness, I wish this new, weird, pathetic Heather was not involved with him at all. Why Y&R pairs her with the best looking men on the show is a real mystery! First Chance and now Ronan!

    I do not like Chloe with Kevin at all! Chloe following little Kevin who looks and acts like he is 13 years old is just ridiculous!

    I say put weird Heather with little, weird, goofy Kevin. Chloe needs to be with Ronan (look great together and fantastic chemistry).

    I am hoping Chance will return to help his sick brother. This would make a great story, if only this Heather would disappear!

    Just my opinion!

    Why destroyed that great looking Ronan with the worst recast ever NuHeather!?!

    And no don’t match her with anyone I like, which is most of Y&R characters, just let her go, she does not work on Y&R!

    I USE TO WATCH THIS SOAP ALL THE TIME BUT NOW I REALLY DONT . I THINK ITS SO GROSS THAT SHARON WOULD BE IN LOVE WITH HER KIDNAPPER SOMEONE WHO TOOK HER BABY NO ONE WOULD BE IT MAKES THIS SOAP LOOK DUMB. I LOVED HER WITH NICK.AND ADAM GETS AWAY WITH ALL THE OTHER THINGS HES DONE THAT SHARON DOES NOT KNOW ABOUT.

    It is great news that The Young and Restlees has been renewed for another 3
    years. It is my and my friends favorite soup. We watch it daily and look
    forward for each episode.
    Good news for all fans of the Y&R.
