Craig posted a photo of himself with shaved head and a bandana covering half his face, with the message: “Say hello to Jack” #Ridemovie.

Previously, Craig let his fans know on  Twitter on October 6th a bit about his next acting gig: “Just closed on a new project. Can’t wait to share with you all.”  That was followed by another tweet on October 9th relating, “Physical preparation starts today…. Gonna be a brutal 2 weeks.”

We will update you when we have more information on Ride the movie.

So, what do you think of Craig’s first role post-GH? Comment below

I’m happy for him. No risk, no reward. The time for him to take risks is now while his career is still relatively new. New wife, new job….good luck with all of it!

He looks pretty creepy! But, if anybody is up to the role, it’s Craig. His portrayal of a bipolar young man were fantastic. I will miss him at GH, but wish him all the best in future acting career.

If ‘THAT’ picture is supposed to make me want to watch whatever that piece of crap show is…it FAILED!

I couldn’t stand to watch “Morgan” with his shaved head. This character looks even worse!

Just because he won an Emmy doesn’t’ mean he can play any other role convincingly.

    Yeah, too dark for me.
Is this gig going to be about a cult? Skinheads? Rebel bikers? Nah, not for me, thanks. Not my kind of world.
I am sure, SZima, that this ‘show’ will attract a horde of fans.

SZima…so with you on the picture and shaved head. If this has anything to do with his new project it certainly doesn’t look like something I would want to watch.

Rather than being rude and judgmental, you should actually wait and see what the movie or TV show is about before you start with the negative comments, and calling something crap based on a picture.

Totally agree. Loved seeing you as Morgan, and best of luck with your new project.

    Elizabeth replied

Not to mention, what is the rationale for presuming that he can’t play another role – in spite of winning the Emmy? That just seems totally lame.

    dmr replied

I absolutely agree. I was not a fan of Morgan. I thought the material was too heavy and serious for the actor to handle. Morgan appeared to be more of a petulant, spoiled child, than someone suffering with mental illness. Morgan and Kiki were filler as best, not a super couple.

Perhaps to you and some others dr, but for me and others Bryan Craig was superlative. His scenes with Sonny, right from the start, were filled with passion and angst, his scenes with Ava sexual and longing, with Kiki hopeful and living….he went from light to dark…mellow to hyper…I just loved this character and Bryan’s portrayal. He touched, then broke, my heart.

Kudos Bryan! Will really miss your portrayal of lost soul/good soul…Morgan.

It’s great- when young actors can get their start in a soap and then be smart enough to seek acting careers outside of the dying soaps before they become stereotyped and stale/unable to grow into rising careers..
Bryan made a good move- up !!

Bryan Craig is a good actor… in this day and age…. he has the capabilities to move his acting

this isn’t a stretch…. but… I liken him to Bradley Cooper of Silver Lining Playbook… where he played a man back home with Bi-Polar

obviously Bradley Cooper delivered a more subtle nuanced even paced show

Bryan Craig… if anything… is not guilty of a frenetic show

one he didn’t know… plus his meds were screwed with…

his skillset patience and study of this profession, given time… I wish him well.

hey… i’m still glad he’s off the show for my lack of care

less is more of the Corinthos

    Patrick replied

I just read an interesting article…. I think it was another yahoo blog

where they discussed the role of Morgan

that perhaps he staged this accident and really just left town… to be on his own… to discover his new life… to learn all on his own

and return someday… however long it takes to recast or await BC.

plus… the biiggie… if and when or whomever is Morgan…that he returns without BP

this character had so much more to drive

    Patrick replied

PS: when its said these serials can film up to 3 eps a day…. that’s frenetic

the prep time…. is so much less

so… Bryan Craig certainly will have the time to earn his keep

    Agree and agree!

Lucked into a role with heavy hitters, did ok, got an emotional story, won an emmy, went to his head, went looking for greener pastures. Same ole story different actor.

    Reply

    Rebecca1 replied

Rude comment, clh.. There’s no “same ol ‘ story.” He got a great break on GH and won a well-deserved Emmy. He’s a talented actor with a lot of range who wants to act in other things. Period. Went to his head? LOL. Maybe it gave him a feeling of pride and the confidence to leave a sure thing and take a chance on other projects. People do that in their careers…in and out of the industry. Jeeeeeesh!

    KansasGuest replied

If that “same old story” is similar to the ones of Julianne Moore, Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon, Nathan Fillion, Sarah Michelle Gellar, & John Stamos, I think most actors would jump at the chance.

    Reply

    clh replied

Absolutely no where in their league. That’s where he thinks he is, but he was not that good to be honest. He was given a killer storyline that constantly had heavy hitters in it, that’s why he won the Emmy, the storyline.

He is not very personable, even when he won the Emmy he looked like he was angry at the world. Every picture he’s part of, those around him are smiling and he always has a look on his face like “Do I really have to be here?”

Does he have talent? Sure, but not as talented as many others on the show. He’ll be wanting to come back when he’s not a big star.

    KansasGuest replied

No one can tell how “good” or what “league” an actor is in at the beginning of their career. John Stamos & Julianne Moore were basically kids when they left their soaps. Same with Marisa Tomei & Alec Baldwin. Their development as actors had to do with the choices they made & the people they worked with. As for Craig’s facial expressions off screen, that has nothing to do with his talent. People have criticized Marlon Brando, James Dean, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, & Benicio Del Toro for the exact same thing – that they aren’t personable & look “sullen” all the time. Big deal. The only thing an actor owes the public is a good performance on screen.

    CharlieM replied

Sounded like he took this step with the support of all his cast mates. Few actors want to play the same character their whole lives.

Wow—we got to see Justin Hartley move on to something big and now we see Bryan Craig going on to a feature film. It’s good to see these former daytime stars landing things that are much bigger than what they had before although I will miss seeing them on the soaps because they did such a good job.

    Rebecca1 replied

Hi James…just an FYI..Justin had success on primetime before his latest role on “This Is Us”. He was on “Revenge” and “Smallville” and made other primetime appearances. Was up for the lead on another CW show but it didn’t get picked up. He’s been around a while longer than Craig…he’s almost 40 so it makes sense he’s gotten more work. Both great actors…but yep…understandably they want to move on when opportunity knocks but it still’s a loss to us daytime viewers who were into their characters and these actors portraying them.

I do think Bryan made the right move. If he wants to branch out, do it when you’re young. If necessary, he can always return to “GH” when he is older, assuming it’s still around then.

  21. Mary SF says:

Well he isn’t the first soap actor who wanted to try to get work in movies or prime time television and sometimes they will move on to bigger and better things– become as they say “stars”– good luck to him, hopefully GH will still be around should he ever decide to come back to daytime because he has to eat and the gigs are not coming his way— and to that end PLEASE GH– let the character stay dead— if they recast in a couple of months with a new actor, explaining his new face as plastic surgery from the burns on his face– honestly I think I would stop watching the show, just to protest using that lame device AGAIN– (Jason Morgan)—

Although I am never in favor of any soap killing off a young legacy character–in this instance– the short term and long term implications of his death might be worth it, considering how he died– but if we have to go through all this emotional turmoil the character’s death brings, only to find out in Feb sweeps he is alive– maybe with a missing limb because they obviously found some part of him to do a DNA test to confirm his “death”– it will royally tick me off—death is a serious matter and I hate it when soaps treat it so frivolously— killing off a character should be treated as final as death in real life— that way we would end this silliness of letting a character “die” when they know damn well they are bringing the character back again. As a viewer I cannot no longer invest in any death on a soap because of that device– especially when the death is so obviously set up in a way to explain the character coming back– end of rant.

Totally agree when a decision is made to kill a character off no matter who is writing you need to stick with it that’s why soap opera are laughed at. When Patrick Duffy made the decision to leave Dallas the killed off and he came back a year later as a dream I was done never watched again.

So you see Sabrina and Morgan fans, dont take their exits too hard, there is life after GH! I never liked Morgan, his attachment to Ava or Kiki, it was gross, and didnt care for the acting, in general, but he did win an Emmy and I’m sure that helped with his new gig. Good Luck!

All actors need to grow and expand their roles no matter what they do,and should be done while they are young enough.
I really thought that Morgan and Kiki did not belong together. Kiki is weak and needs a stronger man in her life, namely Dillon who is good for her

    Reply

    Rebecca1 replied

Kiki weak? She took a bullet for Morgan, she survived her mother sleeping with Morgan, the death of her father…and she was Morgan’s rock. She’s been the pillar of strength through everything, unless you consider showing emotion as “weak.”
