Darius McCrary is the new Malcolm Winters which finally, once and for all, puts the end to any thoughts of Shemar Moore returning to his once popular role on The Young and The Restless.
McCray is best known for playing Eddie Winslow on the long-running ABC sitcom Family Matters. The actor has signed a multi-year deal to assume the role beginning Nov. 18. His debut will air on Dec. 29.
“Acording to EW.com who broke this story Y&R’s cop- executive producer and head writer, Maria Arena Bell had this to say about the surprise casting decision. “We are thrilled to have the character of Malcolm back on Y&R. “Malcolm, Neil Winters’ brother, has always been a catalyst to exciting stories. He’s coming back to town to see his brother and to reunite with his biological daughter, Lily Winters, as she fights for her life. Malcolm is a photographer…someone who lives on the edge and who always pushes the envelope.”
According to reports, also, Shemar Moore who now stars in CBS’s Criminal Minds at one point was said to be going back to the soap for a brief or limited run, but due to his schedule and inability to commit to the return full-time, in the end made it a no-go for the actor.
