It’s a big week for CBS Daytime as they celebrate 30 years as the number one daytime television network.

And to kick things off for fans of the CBS Daytime programming line-up of:  The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Talk, The Price is Right and Let’s Make A Deal, the network has launched their own “Daymoji app” now available via Google Play or the App store..

From emoji categories of “All The Feels” to “Favorite Things” to “Team Daytime” to “Let’s Talk” to their own set of GIFS including ones featuring: B&B’s Quinn, Bill and Brooke, and Thomas, to Y&R’s Sharon, Nick and more, users of the app can share their thoughts via integrating the Daymoji keyboard into your phone, or share them directly from the app.

Let us know what you think of the new “Daymoji” app after you have downloaded it, or reviewed it in the comment section below!

Sadly, this “Daymoji” app is a desperate attempt to reach the young demographic. Another such attempt, the misguided launch of AMC and OLTL as online series, proved to be a dismal failure.

Of course, CBS wants to do all it can to increase viewership. And, yes, CBS is thrilled and proud to have been the top daytime network for 30 years. But let’s face it: ratings for the 4 remaining soaps are nowhere near what they were 30 years ago.

Today’s producers and network executives could learn a lot from the golden era of soaps (1970s). Tell engrossing stories, develop rich characters and families, and create compelling drama. Newest technological advances, be damned. Yet today’s soaps are not your mother’s (or grandmother’s) soap operas — and that’s NOT a good thing…

AMC and OLTL failed because Prospect Park didn’t have a sustainable or viable business model.

I wish CBS daytime would use their resource to develop an online soap. But this crap they come up with just boggles my mind.

This idea is just as bad as those comedy skits CBS put on YouTube.
