1 February 7th, 2016 Christian LeBlanc and Michelle Stafford Present Longtime Y&R Stage Manager, Tom McDermott With Special Honor At DGA Awards!

The Young and the Restless longtime Stage Manager, Tom McDermott was honorerd with the Franklin J. Schaffner Achievement Award at the guild’s 68th annual DGA Awards last night on Saturday, February 6th at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City, California.

On hand to present the award to McDermott were good friends, Y&R’s Christian LeBlanc (Michael) and GH’s Michelle Stafford (Nina), both whom have worked with the Stage Manager through his enduring career at the CBS daytime drama series.  McDermott’s honor recognizes an Associate Director or Stage Manager in recognition of service to the industry and the guild.

McDermott currently chairs the DGA’s Western AD/SM/PA Council after first joining the group more than three decades ago. His credits include Nightly News With Tom Brokaw, Today, Late Show With David Letterman and several Super Bowls, Olympics and NBA Finals in addition to his gig as full-time Stage Manager for The Young And The Restless.

Tom became the full-time Stage Manager for The Young and the Restless back in 2002.  He was also part of the directing team that earned a 2011 Daytime Emmy Award in directing, and several Emmy and DGA nominations.  For a complete list of winners and receipients at the 2016 DGA Awards click here.
