4 July 8th, 2011 CONFIRMED: TNT’s DALLAS remake greenlighted to series! Coming Summer of 2012!

What a week for soaps, huh? First came the unexpected news that One Life to Live and All My Children will have a new life online following their final airdates on ABC, and now comes word that TNT has greenlighted the much talked about remake of the legendary nighttime soap, DALLAS to series! The new DALLAS will premiere in the Summer of 2012 with an ordered ten episodes!

This new updated spinoff of the original CBS series features the younger generation of Ewings and their gals as its centerpiece. Former Desperate Housewives star, Josh Henderson has been cast as John Ross and former Passions and Desperate Housewives favorite, Jesse Metcalfe will playing Christopher.  The two will play the sons of the infamous JR (Larry Hagman) and Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) who will be reprising their roles in the new series along with Linda Gray as Sue Ellen!

Here is more info on the story from the press release from TNT:  “The new version will focus on the Ewing offspring — J.R. Ewing’s son, John Ross  (Josh Henderson) and Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe), the adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing as they clash over the family dynasty’s future. Jordana Brewster (Fast & Furious) stars as Elena, who is involved in a love triangle with Christopher and John Ross. Julie Gonzalo (Veronica Mars) stars as Christopher’s fiancée Rebecca. The updated Dallas will feature original series stars Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray. Hagman gained worldwide fame for his portrayal of oil baron J.R. Ewing. Gray played J.R.’s wife Sue Ellen Ewing, while Duffy portrayed J.R.’s younger brother Bobby.”

This could be really fun and make us all want to put on our cowboy hats again! And to get you in the mood, check out the hot new DALLAS website! We love the opening sequence on the website, reminds us of the good ole’ days but with a refreshing modern flave!

    I am super excited about this reboot! I just hope they bring back Charlene Tilton too and give her a teenage daughter or something fun.

    This is very exciting….loved the original series
    But will it be available on another network…maybe Bravo?

    i am glad they are redoing dallas but i am ecstatic that some of the original actors will be there – that will make it a continuation of the show!

    I am so happy that Dallas is coming back! I loved the original series, and was a fan for years! I would not allow anyone or anything to interrupt me when the show was on.
