Days of our Lives will soon be called “Daytime Emmy winners of our Lives”! All weekend long, and as the week started this Monday, reports abound have been posted and circulated that Vincent Irizarry, who has quite the daytime drama series resume, is bringing his A-game to the infused NBC soap opera as the show pumps up through its upcoming 50th anniversary in November and beyond!
This afternoon Yahoo TV officially confirmed all reports! According to the entertainment outlet, Irizarry will play “a character with strong connections to the Kiriakis family.” The actor began taping earlier this month in August, but will not make his on-screen debut till sometime in early 2016.
TV Line then followed suit revealing more Intel, which included that Irizarry’s character name is Deimos and he will debut in mid-January.
Vincent, who got his soap opera start as anti-hero Lujack and later Nick on Guiding Light once played opposite Judi Evans’ Beth Raines, and may have the opportunity to work with her again if Salem’s Adrienne is the mix with Irizarry’s DAYS character.
The popular soap veteran also appeared Santa Barbara, played Dr. Evil – David Hayward on All My Children, and also appeared as David Chow on The Young and the Restless.
Irizarry will join other new Salem Daytime Emmy winners added to the cast that includes ; A Martinez and Jordi Vilasuso, along with DAYS long time cast members: Eric Martsolf and Suzanne Rogers who have previous won the gold, and Tamara Braun, who is reprising her Emmy-winning role as Ava Vitali later this year.
