Those who have been eagerly awaiting the debut of Crystal Chappell’s latest web series, The Grove, finally get a taste of it in this new teaser promo released today for the first time!

In it, One Life to Live favorite Robert S. Woods provides the voice over narration, and the best part of that is he is integral to the plot of The Grove and is in the series!

What would The Grove be without Chappell and Jessica Leccia as Nico and Ivy, who play the key couple? And, if you watch the end of the promo, there looks to be a wedding for our favorite gals!

Check out who else is in the promo: The Young and the Restless’ Christian LeBlanc, Michelle Stafford, and Beth Maitland, Days of our Lives Nadia Bjorlin, and former DAYS star, Mark Hapka, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Linsey Godfrey, plus Bobbie Eakes and Jordan Clarke!

The Grove is about two family’s living, loving, and fighting in a small central California town called “The Grove”. Watch the promo after the jump and let us know what you think?

This looks BEAUTIFUL! Crystal Chappell is truly a revolutionary in this industry and “The Grove” is an even more expressive view of that! I cannot wait for it to officially launch!

The main couple is compromised of two women and they kissed a couple of times in the promo, so I would say yes, there will be a “gay story” and there will “physical stuff” to see.

LMAO! well answered. Obviously if the promo shows a gay couple kissing and on top of that they are the central couple of the story…I would expect there will be physical stuff at that.

I just do not understand why CC keeps casting herself as a lesbian in all these web shows. I find it very distasteful that she is making a career out of playing lesbians. However, I do think it is great that she is finding new and inventive ways of keeping soaps alive and for providing employment opportunities for our favourites!!

Why do you find her playing more than one lesbian character distasteful? I mean, she’s hardly making a career out if it, since she’s not getting paid and Venice is basically only maintaining itself, not turning a profit.

With mixed results, she’s catering to an underserved group of people, whose representation on television is very low. Let’s be honest, very few straight viewers are going to be willing to pay to watch a web series, when they can see straight characters and romances on television for free. Just look at the poll that Prospect Park did, when they were still trying to figure out how to get AMC and OLTL on the web. Not a lot of people were willing to pay a subscription fee and if they were it was a very low amount. This is the reason that most web series are geared to a niche audience.

What’s “all these” web shows? This is only the 2nd one. It was born out of CC being unsure that she could continue the first one. And she makes them to tell a story that gay fans of her last story on Guiding Light can relate to. Why is that distasteful? I’m straight and I love CC’s lesbian characters. Gay or straight, it’s a love story! #LoveIsLove

Personally, I find homophobia extremely distasteful. I would have greater pity for those of you who suffer from that dreadful disorder if your disease didn’t cause so much terrible harm to others. I do sincerely hope you find healing, nonetheless.

Aren’t Chappell and Leccia a couple on Chappell’s other web series, VENICE, THE SERIES? If so, how is this pairing going to be any different?

Probably the same way that their characters on Venice are different from Olivia and Natalia from GL, because they are written as different people. When Revolutionary Road came out with Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio starring together as a couple in a period drama, did you ask how it would be any different from Titanic?

These are entirely different characters, different writers, some different/additional producers and a different story than on Venice. There is an amazing amount of talent in front of and behind the camera on this pilot and I can’t wait to see it on my screen.
