18 March 30th, 2016 DAYS EP Ken Corday Enlists Wintherthorne EP Michael Caruso and Ex-DAYS and B&B’s Kyle Lowder To Make Novel LADIES OF THE LAKE An Online Series!

In a first of its kind deal, Ken Corday, Executive Producer of NBC’s Days of our Lives has enlisted Emmy nominated Michael Caruso, to adapt and produce his original novel, Ladies of the Lake, for a digital platform.

The series will be Executive Produced by Michael Caruso (under his company Michael and Barbara Caruso Productions) and former DAYS and B&B star Kyle Lowder (Ex-Brady), who also stars in the series and was instrumental in spearheading the initial concept to bring the soapy novel to the the small screen.  DAYS director and two-time Emmy winner, Sonia Blangiardo will direct the series.

Ladies of the Lake tells the story of four wealthy wives living in the exclusive gated community of Avalon. When their abusive husbands begin to turn up dead, Detective Shawn Daniels (Lowder) launches an investigation, only to discover the many secrets hidden beneath the glossy veneers of Avalon.

The script was penned by award winning writer Michael Caruso, adapted from the novel written by Ken Corday. Caruso noted in a press release: “Ken has been behind us since day one, giving us the freedom and creative control to adapt his novel. He has been incredibly generous throughout the entire process and working alongside Kyle on this has been extraordinary.  We are pulling out all the stops to whip up a really fun ride for the audience”.

Kyle Lowder said “Bringing Ken Corday’s novel to life is something that I wanted to do from the first time I read it. To have the opportunity to work with Michael Caruso and all the talent involved, both in front of and behind the camera, is truly inspiring.”

Meanwhile, Ken Corday added “When Kyle and Michael unveiled their vision for transforming Ladies of the Lake into digital episodes, I was delighted. Our creative collaboration is a burst of fresh energy which stays true to the original story and also introduces these beautiful, intelligent, complex women to a broader audience.”

Ladies of the Lake begins production next month. Additional cast announcements will be made next week. Visit and follow @LOTLSERIES1 on Twitter for more updates.

I guess all this extracurricular work for Corday explains why he only pays attention to Days when it’s up for renewal.

  2. Lou Piikes says:

This is the best news ever. Corday Productions should also get into producing online soaps for the daytime audience. Maybe this a start in that direction; fingers crossed.

    Maureen replied

Days is a lost cause. Ken Corday should just shut down production of DOOL and call it quits.

    4ever DAYS replied

DAYS isn’t a lost cause. In fact, the drama this week has been excellent! Gripping drama for the jealous gripers!!

    Jim Preston replied

Right now, Days of our Lives is fairly watchable thanks to Abigail’s visions of Ben and the supporting players around her.
But the past four months have been DREADFUL – generally speaking. This horrendous storyline about John’s strange father Lo Mein (or whatever his name was) and the ridiculously inane story of Brady diving into the ocean following a heart transplant (Huh?) to save that gal who is supposedly Maggie’s long lost daughter. I am not just being critical or negative by DOOL needs to keep moving in a stronger direction, storyline-wise. Also, it was a mistake to remove Will Horton from the canvas and Sonny. I am bored to tears watching Belle and Phillip, both of whom to me are uninteresting characters. She’s very pretty, unquestionably, but her acting technique strikes me as being vacuous.

This is AWESOME news! The new LADIES OF THE LAKE digital series looks like it’s gong to be GOOD! Loved the “DeVanity” and “Winterthorne” digital series’ by Michael Caruso. Excited for LOTL to debut!

  4. Peggy says:

    This sounds really good.

  5. Mo says:

It sounds like others will pay an active role in it, because Ken needs to pay attention to Days. The episodes this week have been better and I hope that continues.

    Jim Preston replied

Yes, thanks primarily to Kate Mansi (as Abigail) the show has improved. Thank goodness they swiftly wrapped up that ATROCIOUS storyline about John’s father, that was the worst – I couldn’t even sit through those scenes. The storyline regarding Brady looking for that gal what’s her head and diving into the ocean (oh yes, after a heart transplant, uh huh, yeah ok) was astonishingly ridiculous to the point of insulting a viewer’s intelligence.

    Mo replied

The problem is, Paul has been brainwashed so the story isn’t totally over and I dread that.

    Tim Welles replied

That’s right, Paul was partially brainwashed when they put that
3-D Viewmaster on his head and forced him to watch Mary Poppins.

  6. val says:

Haven’t watched in months. No one ever notices, anything involving John is the kiss of death. The character works best as a villain. They should have him tormenting his Teresa. Bring back Sonny and have him adopt Ariana. Then reboot the show around Sonny and his evil sibling Alex and Gabi. Hopefully, the new young man they are bringing in will be the long lost Patches, son of Mimi and Phillip K.
