All over the news since yesterday has been the terrible accident of the aerilist who was performing during a preview of Bono and U2′s troubled and plagued Broadway musical, Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. According to Soap Opera Digest, Days of our Lives, Louise Sorel (Vivian) was in the audience and witnessed the horrific accident.
Sorel revealed what she saw: “It was right before the end. The mechanism broke and he flew off the end of the ramp into the pit. Some people thought it was part of the show but the next thing we heard was a woman scream and someone say ‘Call 911!’ I thought he was dead. Then the theater went black and there was silence, then an announcement, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, this is the end of the show. It was chilling. I got on the subway to go home and was just shivering from it.”
The show is said to be playing another preview performance this evening.
