POP is a rerun channel, the programming is bottom of the barrel and not worth paying for lol
you can watch the soaps on their internet network and other places including DVRing them, recording, or On Demand and others..
No need to pay for POP to watch your soap … :)

    Benigno replied

su0000: Pop is a general entertainment channel but it does offer some really neat original programming (Schitt’s Creek, Big Brother After Dark, frequent entertainment specials) and marathons for Survivor, The Amazing Race and a number of CW shows. :D

    su0000 replied

    I have Comcast..
POP is on a high pay tier ..
I’m not going to put out $$$$ (to go higher up) to have POP .. lol
POP is a low budget rerun channel that also shows now 2 soaps that I can watch online 7/24
((I believe they are also on – on demand ..

If your cable provider has an ala-carte package, you can just order a smaller number of channels that you’d intend to subscribe and watch,

Anyone know if it’s available on Direct TV?

    Hi, Julie.
Pop is on Directv Channel 273 but it is only available in some of the higher priced packages.
Wish Pop would now add General Hospital even though I don’t currently have it in my economy package.
I still miss Soapnet and wish some channel(s) would air classic soaps from the past like Santa Barbara (my all-time favorite), Another World, As The World Turns and One Life To Live.

    blake replied

Yeah it’s on my Direct TV.

IA with whoever said that Pop has become the new Soapnet, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m so glad to see Pop value soap operas and re-air classic primetime shows from the ’80s and ’90s. As for DOOL, I can’t wait for all the returning vets, and now it will be easier to watch!

This is why DAYS is no longer available on Hulu.

Since downgraded on Direct TV no longer can get POP. So watch Days on Hulu if miss it during the day, but episode is not until next day. Days doesn’t show on Hulu Plus on TV, have to go to hulu.com on computer which then switches over to NBC.com I noticed when it plays. Although I pay to not have commercials on Hulu Plus, on the internet version that switches over to NBC.com have to put up with the stupid commercials. Don’t think that is fair at all. Think heard NBC is the one that controls this.

I wish GH would be broadcast on POP along with the other 3 remaining soaps. POP is affiliated with CBS so it’s unlikely, but it would be great especially with all the breaking news interrupting daytime programming.

Wow! That’s great news! Wish they would add GH & old episodes of AMC & OLTL. I have always often thought it would be great to rerun a series from the very beginning. For those of us too young to remember or had to work during years prior to the invention of recording devices! It’s like losing a chunk of memory… I started watching in high school around the time Luke raped Laura on GH…1979ish…along came adulthood, marriage, babies, jobs & couldn’t watch. Started watching again off & on over the years, have been watching faithfully again since no longer working 2005/6ish & I get so frustrated when a storyline has ties or reference to the past of episodes & characters I never got to see! Anyway, that’s my opinion & I hope PopTV considers adding the ABC soaps to its nightly line up like the old SOAP channel, would be great for the entire genre!!!

On Dish Network, POP is channel 117. It does carry some original programming. One of my favorites, the Canadian comedy “Schitt’s Creek” with Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara, is on the network. It also aired “Queens of Drama,” a “reality” show about former daytime divas trying to put together a new soap for the CW. Donna Mills headed the cast. Right now, as a CBS-owned network, it broadcasts “Big Brother After Dark” most nights, which I think is the most god-awful thing on television but to each his or her own!

Well they aren’t marketing this very well because it took going to Hulu to watch, finding out I was being diverted to NBC.com, then just being curious enough to find out why and searching Google until I found this article on the 3rd result page. I’m worried because I have a busy enough life that I can’t watch the show every day and Hulu was great for that. I would binge watch several episodes even up to the point of the episode that was leaving the site. Will there still be several episodes on the website? Will my On Demand have several episodes on Pop? I’ve always wanted NBC to have several episodes on their On Demand.

I never understood why TV networks, such as Pop or SoapNet, broadcast same-day episodes. Doesn’t everyone have at least a VCR, a DVR, or Internet access to watch those episodes on their respective network Web sites?

I agree with others that it would be more entertaining to show older episodes of these and other shows. If it was soap operas, I would love to see classic episodes of shows that aren’t on anymore, or older episodes of shows currently still on the air. (Wouldn’t it have been fun to watch 50 classic episodes of Days of our Lives to celebrate its 50 year anniversary?)

If not soap operas, there are plenty of other shows that would be great to see on TV again, that were important parts of pop culture over the years. Murphy Brown? Miami Vice? Sure there are many others.

However, we don’t need to see shows that are already on other networks. How many networks have to show the Golden Girls and act like they are “the” network to rebroadcast these episodes?

PLEASE KEEP IT AS PART OF THE LINEUP. I HAVE TO WORK AND I LOVE IT WATCHING IT ON ACTUAL TV INSTEAD OF THE COMPUTER.

You can watch it on xfinity demand if you have that. Most of the time I watch it on my iPad or iPhone.

Just want to add I did see the show today during it’s air time at 1 – I may be the only person, but I liked the Rafe/Hope scenes. Perhaps, anything is better than the murder, ugly, dark scenes they have been showing.

Also, Chad was outstanding when he was crying and said good bye to Abby – so realistic, heartfelt, and true emotion. Show was better today than I have seen Ina long time. Keep the romance coming – stay away from murder, violence, meanness.

Why did POP stop carrying Days of Our Lives? Not everyone can be home during the day. My first blame was COMCAST.. They are getting too big and too expensive
. Can’t POP work something out with them for evening (daily reruns?) It certainly makes one keep looking around for new carriers and user friendly networks.

    Thanks for your consideration.
