7 March 27th, 2012 Daytime Emmys: NATAS to Reveal More Updates Tomorrow!

The internet today has been abuzz with the difficulties NATAS has been facing finding a home for this year’s Daytime Emmys ,which according to TV Guide are set for June 23rd, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and far away from the Vegas Strip,  which is a good thing according to several  key daytime actors, and us!

Then, this afternoon NATAS put out a tweet on their Daytime Emmys Twitter page announcing, “Daytime Emmy Awards.  Save The Dates to be announced tomorrow! STAY TUNED!”   We also hear rumblings that more information about the ceremonies could be revealed at that time.

Regarding the Vegas  Emmy production backlash, Daytime Emmy winner, General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) stated, ” If the awards can’t air with dignity, they shouldn’t air at all.”   While Daytime Emmy winner, Peter Bergman (Jack) of The Young and the Restless went on to say in regards to last year’s telecast, “It was a vulgar Vegas nightmare.  The awards need to return to what they were years ago, a private, elegant event.”

Nominations will be announced on May 4th, and On-Air On-Soaps has faith that awards will be presented in some form this year, and hopefully in a proper forum to recognize the amazing talents in the entire spectrum of the daytime television field, which is badly needed in this current climate of cancellations.  We know many soapers, would be devastated if All My Children and One Life to Live do not get to be honored for the body of the work over the last four decades.

More to follow!

Last years emmys were a joke ,I couldnt wait for it to be over it was like a circus ,just awful, and to make things worse the 2 or 3 hours it was on the bold and the beautiful and the young and the restless were crammed down our throats and the other 4 soaps on abc and nbc were ignored and the music sucked, who ever was in charge of programming should never be allowed near a award show again it was the longest and the most boring emmy awards I have ever watched. This is the last year for all my children and one life to live and I will hate it if we cant watch it .Even though I will have to by an extra box of tissues because even the mention of one life to live will upset me.And if one life to live doesnt win anything again this year it will upset me even more.

glad it will be in LA this time… can you imagine Vegas giving AMC and OLTL a tribute? that probably would have included Elvis and a bunch of showgirls!

Robin is alive & someone has her captive which looks like a hosp. room… Who really got burned to death because it wasn’t Robin.. If you watched today’s show(Tues. 3/27) you know she is alive…Could it be Faison holding her ??? Anna & Roberts old arch enemey……………….From so many years ago………….OLTL & AMC better win some emmy awards.. It would be a disgrace if they didn’t win something !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well to be honest…they awards at Vegas were bad and as much as I love watching my favorites win (or sadly sometimes lose) I don’t want the actual performers/writers/directors etc. to go through another Vegas telecast SO I’m happy to see they will at least be taking place in LA.
