343 March 28th, 2016 Deep Dark Secrets and Dirty Double Crossers This Week On General Hospital!

Courtesy/ABC

It looks to be a week of revelations on ABC’s Daytime Emmy nominated General Hospital.  In the latest promo for the daytime drama series, Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) is seen asking her mother Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn): “Would it be so bad if I’m gay?”

Meanwhile, Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) is about to read the riot act to Hayden (Rebecca Budig) in what looks to be about her true identify and her deceit. The dark prince unleashes his anger: “You’ve been lying to me the whole time!”  But Hayden has a major retaliation, “You tried to have me killed!”

Later, the voice-over announce in the promo says, “Let the blindsiding begin” when Nina (Michelle Stafford), who has been trying to save Crimson, appears to have knowledge that it is Julian (William deVry) who is trying to make his own publication go under.  Nina exclaims: “Oh, my God. It’s you!”  But is that really how this scene will go down?

Watch the latest promo for GH after the jump!  Then share your thoughts on how you would like these stories to play out: Will Alexis accept Kristina’s sexuality?  Will Nikolas and Hayden reveal all of their double crosses to one another and still stay together?  Will Julian get his comeuppance? Comment below!

All secrets are deep. Some become dark. This week on #GH.

They were great on Monday, although why can’t we have a good old knockdown, dragout catfight? Please?

    Shay replied

I do believe that may be on the way, Peggy, although sans the lily pond (ala Krystal and Alexis, as you referenced below….) it may be a tad less satisfying!

    Frank replied

The catbox stinks- time for a fight!

    Maureen replied

I must say it would be so damned refreshing and I want full-on smack down with broken dishes, torn gowns, hair-pulling and if somehow Laura is put in the mix and Dr. O and Monica- yes Monica is still damned mad at not being chief of staff and might as well bring in Sam to get her pound of flesh, too. Epiphany could storm in and go off as well.

    Maureen replied

One slap is all we got. Sad.

    Frank replied

One slap- come on- why can’t we have some non-mafia, non-gunshot, non-fatal violence.

    Shay replied

@Maureen….Your scenario sounds more like a prison riot ala “Women in Chains!” And while you’re at it, the always up for a fight Heather Webber and Carly should be thrown in for good measure, too….they’re both substantial sorts who look like they could throw some mighty good punches!

    Rose replied

Oh dear…I guess I’m odd-cat out on this one. Not interested in girls/women in a cat fight. As tempting as it may be to haul off and hit someone it diminishes the cleverness of female folk to make life “uncomfortable.” Can take a little longer, but I like more subtle, unpredictable things like Helena’s cups of tea. Not nice but there’s always GH to fix someone up.

By the way if it’s cat fights for “ladies,” is it dog fights for guys?

    Shay replied

I hear what you are saying, Rose….I’m more of a “tea and crumpets” ladylike type myself, too, but I think a bit of fictional “women (in chains) gone wild” wish fulfillment never hurt anyone! As for your query about the male equivalent of a “catfight?” Let’s just say that I should think it would also be a “c-fight,” as in “roosters?”….I was trying to think of a way to put that in a genteel manner, and failed miserably the first time around….Thought I’d take another crack at it…..LOL.

    Norma replied

Shay Shay Shame on you!! Love it. I love you too Rose- you are the classic poisoner aka arsenic and old lace- and the intricate and subtle and extreme cleverness– I so love that and ok last time I remember something along those lines was Heather’s first murder of Diana Taylor- perhaps that is not a good example because she did stab her- but she was so clever and scheming to be able to get in and out of the mental hospital after giving someone a dose of LSD then drinking it herself by mistake if memory serves and oftentimes the service is slow.

    Alexis Davis Jerome replied

Allright already! I will take one for the team. Or take the team.

  2. Patsy Messenger says:

    Shay replied

Hey, Patsy….All’s fair in love and war….I’m no fan of Julian’s, per se, but neither do I care a whit for the gullible, sex-obsessed Alexis nor Nina Clue(less) and her little vanity project. Both of these women are playing with fire, so if they get burned??? Sobeit!

I saw a familiar face the other day on the Big Valley. It comes on every day on one of the antique networks, which appeals to my demographic. I love that show and Miss -good grief her name slips my mind but she was quite famous as a film actress before the show. The Barkley family and she is the head of the family and oh my goodness she throws down when it comes to saving herself, or her ranch or her sons or daughter. Sorry I digress, but the familiar face was Miss Jeanne Cooper and she was fabulous and then I checked and I believe she was in 2 episodes as many actors came on more than once. She had nothing to do with General Hospital, but if she did, I am sure she would have teamed together with Barbara Stanwyck and kicked some mob butt and also would have lynched Miss Alexis Davis and her pathetic sycophantic coterie of miscreants. Just sayin’

    Shay replied

Why yes, Norma, I remember Miss Barbara Stanwyck from her later work in “The Colbys” and “The Thorn Birds!” Formidable woman, she….a totally gutsy, tough-as-nails broad who could have single-handedly cleaned up Port Charles in one fell swoop….beginning specifically with the Davis hussy!!!! As for that similarly strident @$$kicker, the much-missed Jeanne Cooper, when she passed there were numerous vintage Westerns featuring her guest appearances that were presented together as a tribute. Since cowboy shows aren’t my thing, I didn’t partake of the programming, but I did enjoy the promo montage featuring Miss Cooper….later, I happened upon her whilst channel chasing as she guest starred in an episode of “Daniel Boone!” (Who “was a man, yes, a BIG man…..with an eye like an eagle” and…..a really spiffy coonskin cap!!!!!)

    Alexis Davis Jerome replied

Let’s get back to Daniel Boone, please.

    Mark replied

Hey was that Chaz Bono on Bold as the minister last week? He looked way good like lost weight and seemed to kind of radiate peace and happiness or he is a good actor.

    rebecca1 replied

Hi Patsy. I actually like Julian too. But if you’re referring to Crimson only, he hasn’t deceived Alexis. The two of them decided to let the magazine fail further because it was becoming a financial liability. They both just assumed it would sink further under Nina’s editorial reign…i think it’s been a great segue into Nina’s emotional, professional growth…

IF he actually ever hurt Alexis intentionally…lol…as I’m typing this looks like he just got back in the mob…sigh…STIlL dont want them to split. Love Alexis…and she’s so in love….and so it goes in soapdom….

    Robert C. replied

    Abruzzfan replied

I like Alexis and Julian together too. They are two great soap characters. I love that they are both Sam’s parents and have history together.

  3. Frank says:

Alexis should have no problem accepting her daughter’s sexuality. I mean come on, the woman has slept with half the men in town and 3 daughters by 3 men and none of them leaders in the community. I hope Laura finds what she is looking for and somehow gets an interesting story out of this.

    Reply

    nancy dillingham replied

    I’m with you re Laura!

    Reply

    Shay replied

Excellent point, Frank….LOL! Besides, you just know that since the writers love to paint Alexis as the great liberal savior of Port Charles that there’s no way she would ever be anything but accepting of Kristina, although it would be much more refreshing and less predictable were it otherwise. Take Cher, for example….with her anything goes lifestyle, she’s seen and done it all, and yet, famously had a huge problem with her daughter and her identity issues, and even threw her out of her house, whilst the more conservative Sonny Bono was the one who showed compassion and unconditional love for his child. That would be a much better twist in this situation, as well….let St. Sonny Corinthos be the parent that gives his offspring the support she needs, especially since I still maintain that what Kristina may have is not so much confusion about where her affections lie as much as “mommy issues.” Given that since Parker is so much older, I believe that her need for maternal love and approval is what drew Kristina to her….something that she was missing at home. Were she really disposed towards females, I cannot help but believe that she would have long had a clue before now.

    Reply

    CeeCee replied

That’s exactly what I said, Shay, in an earlier post. I intimated that I found it surprising Kristina did not come to grips with her sexuality long before now.
You, as a long-time fan of GH, among everyone else ( except for myself), have known the character for a while. Is this a new development?
I can see how your assumption would make sense. Kristina is looking for a mother-figure in Parker.
Alexis, no matter what a great mom she is purported to be, lacks what it takes to be a nurturing parent. She spent most of her time in bed.

    Peggy replied

Touche’ Shay! Yep yep yep! Yes, too bad Cher can’t turn back time ’cause she was horrid about the whole thing with Chaz and frankly I wonder if her huge, huge gay fanbase didn’t have something to do with getting her to snap the hell out of it. And I do love Cher. Alexis slept with Shawn, too and wasn’t Sam conceived in a car? I would rather see one of Sonny’s son be gay as Sonny seems phobic to me in reality. Speaking of small hands, one can google and get the scoop on that. Again, Monica is my vote to swim in the ladypond and with Meredith Baxter.

    Peggy replied

Or, Plan B, First, isn’t Parker’s wife a doctor? Hmmm, that is certainly convenient, isn’t it? Second, Alexis needs to be done with Julian and sorry, but he needs to be killed off. Alexis can leave town to meet with Parker and chat with her in order to assuage her concerns and also to get away from Julian after his latest lies and deceptions are exposed- and Ned is soon to arrive and help this along–oh shoot- Alexis slept with Ned, too. Anyway, while visiting Parker, Alexis dreams and we flashback to her college days and dalliances and next thing you know Jed’s a millionaire and Alexis and Parker share more than tea and scones. Which leads to her wife leaving and moving to Port Charles and her befriending Kristina.

    Shay replied

@CeeCee…..As far back as I can remember, Kristina was a rebel and a brat…..probably a huge cry for attention, particularly from her clueless mother, but there was never a sign that she was anything but boy crazy….she crushed on the too-old-for-her Ethan Lovett and falsely accused him of abuse, played fauxmance footsie with Johnny Z., stuck by and put up with physical battering from her schoolgirl squeeze, Keifer Bauer and then married her college partner, Trey, for a phony reality show, although she eventually developed genuine feelings for him, despite the fact he was Joe Scully Jr.’s son and had initially been set up by his father to get to Sonny through his difficult daughter. There was never a hint that Krissie was anything but hetero, especially when she was played by the beautiful and sexy Lindsay Morgan. Hence to suddenly bring this storyline around to such an about face is really quite disingenuous from my perspective. Having said that, I did notice your post on the previous GH post in regard to the lovely and gracious Miss Constance Towers….I agree she is one great lady! I’ve long admired her, as we have discussed before. There are simply not enough grande dames of soap operas to look up to and emulate these days. I shudder to think who would be left in Port Charles to assume Helena’s elegant mantle were she to permanently go away….there are so few classy femmes left….other than the magnificent Anna, I’m at a loss to think of any!!!! (Although Diane Miller does make for one sassy and sophisticated presence….I do so enjoy her too brief appearances!)

    Peggy replied

She might of had a clue but it was locked in the chest.

    CeeCee replied

    Thank you, Shay.
So, my assumption was correct; there was no evidence of Kristina ‘liking’ other girls. I also figured she always had a perplexing attitude, to say the least.
So, Kristina, more or less, ran amok. As unrestrained as her mother, mayhap?
    Maureen called it.
And, yes….I preferred Lindsey Morgan, myself. I thought the character was so much more mature….more authentic.

    Shay replied

You’re welcome, CeeCeeGirl! And yes, your assumption was correct….Kristina was always a difficult drama queen, never a ray of sunshine as is her sister, Molly. But most definitely interested in the opposite sex—just like her wanton mother—-and when portrayed by the more physically mature Lindsay Morgan, very attractive and seemingly comfortable in her own skin as far as appealing to men….therefore, to revert back to this strange and sullen awkward teenage version of Kristina and having her suddenly falling for a female professor twice her age(?) truly lacks in character consistency and seriously smacks of those aforementioned “mommy issues,” which would certainly be understandable given the maternal figure in question.

    Shay replied

@Peggy…..My, oh my, you are a delight! Such cheeky comments here, there and everywhere! I’m just trying to keep up with you!!!!! We certainly seem to be on the same page where Alexis is concerned, although I don’t envision her as a “tea and scones” type….I think she’d skip directly to the hard liquor and mixed nuts ala your highly detailed “Plan B” scenario!….Lol. As per your other vivid suggestions? I do believe Tracy would be a better dipper in that proverbial “ladypond,” being a madcap heiress and all, and whilst Sonny may be possibly alright with Kristina’s Sapphic sojourns, I don’t think the macho man in him would feel the same way were his male progeny to follow suit….gotta keep spreading them Corinthos seeds around, don’t you know???

    Rose replied

Shay…coincidentally I saw a movie from “a few years ago” on TCM’s today with Constance Towers. She always has had a presence, plus she could sing, dance and be sultry. This might be a fantasy, but wish she could turn everything upside down and still make a cameo at the Nurses Ball.

    Alexis Davis Jerome replied

    Frank replied

    Or Diana Taylor

    Frank replied

@Ellen- I would hope Ned picks back up with Olivia. I know split personality has been done and done, but if Laura somehow stumbled into a Helena trickbag and it induced Lorena to come to life- I would eat that like candy. A bad bad Genie who packs a pistol and is a tramp but not her fault cause she’s cray-cray. A younger Nikki Smith and no other personas, just one bad bad girl that wants to have fun and be promiscuous and drink and she re-opens the disco and it becomes THE place for shady men and a great happy hour buffet as well.

    Shay replied

How about “Bill Eckert’s” reconstructed corpse attired in that snazzy prison orange garb so familiar from his Elm Street basement days?

    Peggy replied

Timm I just can’t take Faison at all- my issues- he is still alive isn’t he? I mean we thought Anna and Robert killed him but they took him to prison? Is that right? Liesel was so devoted and he treated Britt like crap too. He only wanted Anna and did a lot of sick stuff. Ok so basically every man I have been with and don’t want to see it on tv. But if you really want him at Disneyland with us, well, ok.

    Maureen replied

    CeeCee replied

Lol. St. Alexis mon derriere, Maureen. As Insaid to Shay, you called it! It seems to me her girls reared themselves….hither and yon.

    Shay replied

Oh, I hear you, Maureen….Alexis is second only to Carly when it comes to being the perpetually self-appointed “Mother of the Year” in Port Charles. What some people seem to forget is that her bright solution to Krissie’s challenges has always been to repeatedly send her away in the guise of obtaining an “excellent education,” when we all know it was just a ploy to get her problem child out of her hair so she could continue her merry bed-hopping. It’s no wonder that Kristina remains a lost and immature girl looking for affection and maternal validation from an alternative female source….she certainly found precious little at home, even when she was there!

    Alexis Davis Jerome replied

Just how many is too many? Perhaps I am not Martha Stewart, I never claimed to be. But the day is not over.

    CeeCee replied

Awwwww, Frank….a new man for Liesl? But, but, but her heart belongs to Faison-daddy. Her one true love. Oh, how I miss the insanity he brought to Port Chatles.
Imagine Liesl, Faison and Britt together…..what a treat that would be! They would just have their everyday, ordinary talks about body-snatching, baby-switching and hiding in catacombs…LOL.
Seriously, though….I do agree, I love Dr. O. She definitely needs a love life to soften her up; yet, I don’t know if I would welcome the personality switch. Such a beautiful woman….gorgeous hair!!!!

    Maureen replied

I miss the rubber masks- ala mission impossible. I love Dr. O too- I hate Faison and she was so devoted to him and his treatment of her so horrid and degrading. I hope she wins her Emmy, though I found Winterthorne to be not so good. Britt back would be good and since we are all wondering where we are going with Laura- I have no problem pairing her up with Liesel or bring Shawn back and have him and Laura- I am liking the show a lot as of late but hurry up with Laura.

    CeeCee replied

    @Maureen.
Dr. O is one in a million. I never tire of her.
Hmmmm, Maureen. Shawn and Laura? I guess it could work. I mean, she is accustomed to that lifestyle. I just want her happy.
Sean has been a guest, a few times, on CBS’s CSI CYBER. He was great…I hope he keeps recurring.

    Frank replied

Can you see her in a drindl dress and pigtails on a flowery swing? Cause I can. Singing A-tisket-a-tasket – a prescription pad in her basket. I am more than ready for my turn to write GH and my co-writers are here on MF soaps.

    UNIQUE writing.

    CeeCee replied

    @Frank.
Gee, Frank, i answered your post as visions of Liesl as you described her singing….but it di not make it. Strange. But, my correction of UNIQUE made it. Go figure. Without my previous post, ‘ unique’ makes no sense. Why do ‘they’ do that.
Anyway, you are hilarious, and you would be the perfect candidate to write Liesl a storyline.

    Shay replied

Hey there, CeeCeeGirl! Regarding Miss Towers……yes, she is a very accomplished woman, she has even had operatic training and experience….so very cultured and talented! I love her life story….especially her romance with her handsome and equally-impressive husband, actor, businessman and diplomat, John Gavin……now THAT’S a supercouple! What a shame he never shared the GH soundstage with his gracious wife as the lethal Helena’s leading man! As for this legendary “Ice Queen” making an unscheduled appearance at the NB? That would be simply delicious, particularly if she were to “do a duet” with our dear Dr. O.!!!! Having said that, speaking of soap grande dames in their younger years, I happened upon the late, great Jeanne Cooper in an episode of “The Untouchables” over this past weekend….she played a chorus girl/mob moll who Robert Stack’s Ness was trying to get to testify about her man’s underworld activities. It was quite something to see her way back before she became the sun, cigs and gin-soaked Mrs. Chancellor…she looked so soft and lovely….however, that trademark husky voice was already unmistakably part of her persona. Whatta woman!

    CeeCee replied

    @Shay.
    WOW, My Shay!!!!!!!
What a history! I am now truly in awe of Ms Towers. Married to John Gavin, you say?
Remember when I told you my paternal grandparents ( who live on Martha’s Vineyard) have the most extensive film library? They are old movie aficionados.
Well, John Gavin; what a hottie hunk!! I have seen quite a few of his movies: MIDNIGHT LACE; A BREATH OF SCANDAL; THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE…..etc!!!! I enjoy those old movies do much more than some of today’s fare.
Thank you for that info. I had no idea.
Helena and Liesl. Oh boy!!! That would blow my mind with glee. Ciao.

    Rose replied

Hi CeeCee…just to add about Constance Towers…I mentioned it to Shay when in one of those comments that gets lost…I had just watched an older movie on TCM where “Helena” danced, sang and was quit sultry. I had never seen that side of her, but “yes” if there was a way the writers could invent a way to have her be part of the Nurses Ball that would be so fun. Bet your families film library has some real finds, too.

I would like to personally thank you for coming to the aid of my sister, Peggy, after she was the victim of a heinous hit-and-run by a serial drunk driver who with the help of her attorney has avoided prosecution for several prior horrifying incidents. I saw the videos of the incident and your bravery in pulling her- and as you know she is far from petite-from the street and to see she was backing up to come at the both of you was horrifying. I’m sure you only took her purse to hold it, thought there are several new credit card charges-regardless- my sister is in intensive care in GH and suffered a stroke in additon to her other injuries. All she ever wanted was a few laughs and a good story and has always been a champion of the underdog and mental illness- most especially, her own. Thank you, Miss CeeCee.

    CeeCee replied

    @Notma.
    Hello, Norma.
Pleased to make your acquaintance. But, it is I who must thank you and Peggy for speaking up.
Some people, as you have witnessed here, are very insensitive….calling others psychologically crippled ( to paraphrase), is way out of line. However, the majority wins, Norma. There are very affable, kind, intelligent, knowledgeable funny, , fun-loving people on this site.
I am so sorry about Peggy’s suffering, and, where this venue should be a light, friendly, and perhaps therapeutic place to visit, the lines become blurred, at times, due to a handful of people who seek attention by hurling insults.
I doubt very much this was Mr. Fairman’s intention.
But, Norma, I have found that, for the most part, there is no tension….we tend to look the other way and continue, when “dissension” rears its ugly head.
I hope to the Almighty that Peggy recovers fully, in all ways, and not to be deterred from visiting this site. She’s wonderful and we enjoy her comments very much.
    Enjoy your day. Peace.

    CeeCee replied

    @Rose.
    Hey, Rose.
Actually, by coincidence, I saw the same movie a few days ago. Just a day or two before the movie, Constance had an interview discussing the up-coming showing of said movie.
She is certainly the opposite of the devious Helena. So straightforward and honest, is Mrs. Gavin ( thanks Shay. Lol).
What an eloquent, knowledgeable, sophisticated and classy lady.
I am so glad someone else other than myself watches TCM. Loooove old movies.
    Thanks, Rose.

    Shay replied

@CeeCee (and Rose!)….One more footnote about the magnificent Constance Towers…..in the late 1970′s, she appeared on Broadway as “Anna” opposite the legendary Yul Brynner in “The King and I.” There is a cast recording, so perhaps you could locate one of her musical performances on YouTube.

I am inserting myself into the drama. I have responded with my indignation and disgust. I enjoy your humor writing -and just to speak on that I have seen such witty over-the-top repartee going on and have really enjoyed it but seems it is how can I say this- not understood or taken the wrong way – I am not trying to insult anyone whatsoever i am just asking does anyone see any humor in this the longest thread in history- I see none in your nemesis- feeble attempts followed by more and more oh my – before she came and rained debbiedowner- did anyone at all see the humor or enjoy it? Seems like newbies are not welcome- I am new posting here but I don’t scare easy, sorry. Not.

    Shay replied

@Helen….I do believe you were referring to Miss Olivia de Havilland, who, by the way, is still alive and kicking in Paris at the young age of 99!!!! I never viewed the film to which you alluded—but I am aware of the harrowing plot—so it’s a darn good bet that Joan Fontaine had it in her private collection and probably wore out more than one VCR watching it over and over again…..especially those torture scenes! As for Helena’s Constance Towers, I’ve seen no news regarding her permanent departure from GH, so I continue to live in hope she shall make a return engagement to Port Charles! Oh, and welcome to the “drama!”

    Norma replied

I have enjoyed our little chats- you and a few others on here but the comments on people who post here keep coming and increasing and I so want to lash out but I am just going to walk away as it is futile and they are ruining the fun for me. Thanks to you and others.

@Frank…..Did you see the Halloween episode of a few years back when Faison and Liesl celebrated the holiday in their own inimitable fashion whilst holed up at Wyndemere? Ok- so GH has community outreach to the looney bin and prison so on that day Heather already knows of it and is prepared with her hidden nurses uniform and Carly is donating sandwiches from the hotel- help me out here- ex hooker Bobbie might be a contender. Chain chain chain!!

Very impressive, Shay. To think that I had never heard of Constance Towers until two years ago.
Anna….on Broadway, with Yul Brynner; the Pharaoh!! He co-starred with Charleston Heston in THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, yes?
I had no clue how famous Ms Towers actually is.
Yes, thanks, I will check that out….definitely.

    Roland B replied

Humor and wit so delightful you are.

    Helen replied

Has anyone read any interviews or anything regarding Constance Towers- I mean is it not safe to say that once you are killed off or quit or fired some sort of announcement is made and so forth? Because I am thinking Helena is not dead but I know that could just be wishful thinking. Women in chains and prison riot I love and would like to see even here on this site. I hate westerns and pretty much the genre- but there is something different about- I just realized what it is- it is the women in chains syndrome- Barbara Stanwyck in that show is seriously put through hell and always always emerges victorious Victoria Barkley. I present for consideration “Lady in a Cage” can’t remember the actress but she is a nasty old woman who becomes trapped in the elevator in her home- the elevator is like a cage and thugs including a young James Caan break in and poke at her with sticks.

@Jimh, I miss Britt with Nick, too. There was substance in their togetherness, including the bond with Spencer. Hayden and Nick are interesting, but Britt managed to pull more out of Nick, more nuances, more layers, Hayden/Rachel really seems to bring Nick’s intense sexual desires out. Is that enough, I think not. #bringBrittback4Nick

    I agree, Jeremy.
At the beginning, when the lovemaking between Hayden and Nik was fresh, they were steamy and hot together. The thrill is gone for me….
I still love Hayden/Rebecca. I am not into Nik, at all…but, I enjoyed him and Britt as a couple.
And, of course, there was a special bond and rapport between Spencer and Britt, I agree.
However, I would say that’s because we have not seen Spencer and Hayden interact as he and Britt did. Those two were together more often than not.
We never saw a friendship develop between Hayden and Spencer.
The interesting and challenging twist would be if Hayden and Jason ended up together. I said as much months ago.

Yes, Jeremy, YES!!!! Bring Britt back, and NOW!!!! Not only was she a much better fit with Nik than the annoying Hayden, Rachel, whatever!—but as CeeCee has pointed out, Dr. Westbourne had a most special relationship with Spencer. Plus….I so miss her superior snarking sessions with Brad and mixing it up with her mutter!!!! Britt’s delights were multi-faceted, since she was so many things to different people! Bring her back, indeed!

(Some one on one scenes with Finn—and his beloved Roxy—would also not go amiss….two off-the-wall creatures—okay, make that three if you wanna include the lizard—sparring away would make for jolly good fun!)

Britt is an OB/GYN and this storyline would cause so much drama- remember when the soaps delved into the fray- if Kristina maybe possibly being gay is controversial and a big deal then no wonder soaps are dying. It is empty of all struggling drama..
It is not intriguing, mysterious or exciting, it is ‘lame !

    then we have;
Nina, having knowledge that it is Julian who is trying to make his own publication go under.
Nina exclaims: “Oh, my God. It’s you!”

C’mon that ^^^^ is so much junk.. A empty story.
The story is a big stupid nothing. It is not intriguing, mysterious or exciting, it is ‘lame !

    then we have;
Nikolas about to read the riot act to Hayden in what looks to be about her true identity and her deceit. The dark prince unleashes his anger: “You’ve been lying to me the whole time!” But Hayden has a major retaliation, “You tried to have me killed!”

that ^^^ is so not dramatic..
It is a very bland story for any Cassidine to be in.
It has dragged on into a boring mess going nowhere.

If that is all J&S has to offer as their best writing well, it is pathetic for General Hospital to lose its’ soul of everything it once was- it used to be the highest most adventurous soap and it saddens me how terribly GH has been gutted from its trademark of suspenseful adventure drama..

I would like to see sorasing shown -like a Helena torture-I mean kidnap a few of the kids-like Ava’s- and show them in one of those weird Cassadine body machines crying and then little Avery is 19.

I’m sure some of the attorneys and their claques could possible have the clap and I am not speaking of applause. Seriously though, HIV is really only disease that has been covered – correct me if I am wrong or feel free to attack me or my children or my hair and make-up. Herpes is another no-cure and it is humiliating and painful and hepatitis C as well. We used to get informed and educated and we do just a little bit now, and always product placement is involved it seems.

And, what an honorable man, he is!!!! If Hayden had died, he would have been a murderer and have gotten away with it. Proletariat, is he; regardless his blue blood.

Why she did not slap Liz back and the two of them really fight- Liz a fungus or parasite always feeding off someone else’s man- Nik asked her to marry him but no she did not want him. I have the hots for Scotty Baldwin and she flat-out rejected him again yesterday. How does she support herself I would like to know. She does not come from a wealthy family and has not held a job since the disco. She doesn’t even pay rent or have an apartment. I will agree to her being put down but she must first take responsibility for all of Heather Webber’s crimes and set her free to live and love Scotty and eat BLTs and kill and kill again. When does her Dr. son come up for parole, anyway- long past due.

    Frank replied

Where would she go though? She was kicked out of Genoa City, so that leaves Los Angeles or Salem. She hasn’t had a romance with anyone since her 2 minute marriage to Scott. I think Laura realizing she is gay would be so profound and realistic and interesting- much more so than Kristina. But it is all about demographics, I guess. If all she discovers from her new search is a bus ticket out of town then -well the least they can do is pack her a picnic lunch.

    Maureen replied

They did let her go- quite awhile ago. Only nobody told her. Helena is trying to send her a clue.

    nancy dillingham replied

Genie has begged to “fit” back into GH for years! Genie has proved that she has acting chops–since she was 14 years old with tons of dialogue and improv! The fault is in the writing, not in the actor or in the acting.
Not figure out what to do with the most central, iconic actress on the show?? How hard can that be? Come on! Are you KIDDING me????!!!!!

    Dave M replied

I would like to see her get a personality of her own besides being a mom to her kids and when she is packing a pistol and wearing black leather she is hot. She was a strong character- or was she really? Who falls in love with their creepy disco rapist and follows him around like a puppy? I say make her the new Helena- she certainly has plenty of reasons to be pissed and we have no uber female villian as Ava is becoming mother of the year- and she plays it well.

    Norma replied

Do you mean like Mr. Ed? I love classic tv but that talking horse seems super-creepy to me and I can’t watch the show. I don’t think his career went far, speaking of one trick ponies and I do love the term- I never saw him in another show after he starred in his own. But it would seem to me- and I am often wrong- that if they can lead a horse to water and teach him to talk as well, that there is hope for Laura on General Hospital. Wilbur!!!

    Norma replied

See, I had always thought a one trick pony was hooker lingo for an older, tired one that would not do matinees.

    Maureen replied

How about where in the world is Laura/Carmen San Diego? Oh wait they kind of already did that, too. They have killed off or gotten rid of every uber bitch -except Tracy, who is not a villain- Ava now seems to be going goodie 2 shoes- Make Genie do bad things! Helena lasted how many decades- since Liz first played her- well do something with her and a personality that is not just mommie as her kids are all well into adulthood.

  7. Lin says:

I think Alexis would try to be open minded about Kristina. I think she would be accepting, though surprised. Actually Krisitna appears to be bisexual, which would perhaps be hardr for Alexis to accept. I hope that Nina is careful how she approaches Julian who is dangerous and could close down Crimson. She needs to be sneaky and figure out a winning strategy. She needs to consult someone who knows about business.

I think Nina will figure it out. She is beginning to remind me more and more of Phyllis…..which means, Nina will not be Julian’s scapegoat.
In the end, it will be Julian who bites Nina’s dust.

Nonetheless, I am afraid Nina missed the boat on this one. Poor thing!!

    Frank replied

I would kill to see Johnny Zachara paroled – he could be confined to house arrest and he and Nina marry and have a baby and have killer love scenes and he stays home and cares for the baby. I know Nina is older, but they are both wounded children in so many ways and I want him and her to grow up together- Franco and her is not doing it for me at all.

    CeeCee replied

    @Frank.
Johnny Zaccara is one gorgeous, sexy man. If only….
I was sooo into Nina and Franco….but, something in Franco changed. I am beginning to lose interest in the character….not Roger; never Roger.
I think Nina is too good for him….only because she adores him, wholly and completely, and, he does not reciprocate her unconditional love. It’s his way or the highway.
He is more or less, sponging off her….what a man!

    Shay replied

@CeeCee….Or in lieu of Julian, there is always that default “who’s your daddy?” one-shot option….Sonny!!!! His paternity “track record” is even more prodigious than Julian’s!

    Peggy replied

I like Roger ok but making him Franco and all- it is not working for me with him and Nina and yes he is I guess freeloading- although he does have a job at GH. Liz can have him. Or Dr. O – now she and he- perhaps a great pairing and both have skeletons up the wazoo but could cook schnitzel and canoodle-and adopt a poodle.

    CeeCee replied

    @Peggy.
    Hey, Peggy,
I never thought about it, but, you have a point. I like the idea of Franco and Liesl, as a couple. Good call. I mean, they seem to have an amicable, and easy-going relationship….soooo, it could work.

Oh, your very derisive rhyming did not go unnoticed. Love it.
A poodle would be great since Franco has no interest adopting the human kind.

I’d just like a writer who understood pacing, long term story, and the definition of plot twist.

I’m still reeling from that “shocking” reveal that Hayden Barnes is really Rachel Berlin the daughter of Raymond Berlin (how many times did the writers throw that into that script like it meant something). That reveal was the definition of “who cares?” We’d never heard of Raymond Berlin and Ponzi scheme plots are so two years ago. Talk about a while lot of building up to nothing.

As for Kristina’s sexuality, I find it hard to invest in anything Jean and Shelly serve up because I always fqeel like so much of it is written from episode to episode with no end game in sight. Instead of that embarrassing breast feeding storyline, the show should have Kristina come out as lesbian and then have Mayor Lomax introduce a religious freedom bill that would allow discrimination against LGBTQ citizens. Alexis could wrestle with her feelings about her gay daughter while standing up to fight for her Kristina’s right to be treated like everyone else. Nina could do a CRIMSON cover story, Julian could be in Lomax’s corner causing a rift with both Lucas and his new bride, Brad and Lucas could be evicted from their apartment for being a same sex couple, Dante and Nathan could be called out to keep the peace at a protest, and through it all Brad could just be crazy adorable. (Seems almost implausible that there wasn’t a mention of the coffee business or mob turf in that whole plot, huh? It can be done, GH…)

As for Nicholas — I’m guessing that he is kicking himself for dumping Britt and marrying Rachel Berlin daughter of Raymond Berlin. Lisl Obrecht has to be looking a lot better as a potential in-law compared to Raymond Berlin, father of Rachel Berlin (yes, THAT Rachel Berlin, daughter of Raymond Berlin).

Oh, thank you, Alan! I’m glad to know that I’m not the one who was totally nonplussed to discover Hayden’s true identity was Rachel Berlin, you know, daughter of Raymond Berlin!!!! Who and what the????? For months on end, we were teased and tantalized with the notion that this annoyingly smug, often pointless, character was linked to someone that seemingly was part of GH history, in other words, a person that we had actually heard of before and may have even known on the canvas at some past moment in time??? The clues were definitely sparse, but the implications were that she was attached to somebody that mattered in the scheme of all things Port Charles….and what do we get???? An arrogant missy who has insinuated herself into both ELQ and Cassadine family business with absolutely no relation to any other legacy character…..well, isn’t that special? Personally, I don’t care if this Raymond Berlin “madoff” with others’ millions….even if that includes that of dorky dupe Scotty Baldwin! Especially since it means that we either have offscreen characters looming large in a story that wasn’t all that spectacular from the get-go, or we have the unsavory prospect of “Rachel’s ‘rents” turning up in town at some time in the future…needless to say, neither one of those options thrills me.

Just having the character was controversial and at one point -his name was Steven. Steven got pissy and they were all at the big huge dining room table and he insisted they go around the table and say “Steven is gay”. Of course, a few episodes later, I believe he was back with Sammy Joe, his ex-baby mama.
But they did not then have a scene where they all sat at the table and said “Steven is not gay.”

I said I felt both sides in the case seemed to do their very best. That was it. Immediately I was told I was the problem and so forth and I replied not to put words in my mouth and it got worse. I blocked her and deleted the comment, thus deleting hers but it was scary and weird to me and I see it on here, too and can only hope it brings to light that mental illness often goes undiagnosed- or untreated.

you know, I am going to change the channel. there was some fun here, but someone was jealous and resentful and it has just spewed all over and we have not gotten to out lists of pruning, or opening the communicable disease clinic and hair restoration foundation and I enjoyed the story-within-a-story humor but even that is misconstrued or not understood and the darklady tries to engage but misses her mark and feels ostracized yet she is herself doing this. You engage others with an interesting dialogue, and people respond to that. But it does seem even besides the dark characters in the story within and they whip out facts and figures and so forth so ready to battle a poster or a character or actor- and not woven in any fabric of humor or compelling drama- minus them is basic I like or don’t and most often don’t. Thoughts?

I don’t want to say anything bad about the hospital, but in the spirit of co-operation would just like to mention I did not see a lot of handwashing or use of hand sanitizers. I raced to the hospital as soon as I heard my sister had been what I know believe to be purposely mowed down by a psychopath. But even at 90 miles an hour, I could not get ahead of another vehicle that -well it seemed to be chasing the ambulance. Of course it was an attorney.

Well he needs to stay on his meds, and having watched Valley of the Dolls several times, I feel more than qualified to prescribe even more “dolls” for the troubled man with the new luxurious mane. And in loving homage to my dear sister Peggy, who always believed that if a particular character was not quite working, instead of changing the channel or the writers, change the sex of the character. And since his meds have made a eunuch of him, this is truly a win-win. Also, once on a heavy- duty estrogen regime, in addition to his mood stabilizers and anti-psychotics- yes dolls, lovey, dolls- one of the side-effects of the ladymakers is – a long, lush, luxurious head of hair.

I think truly, MF loves soaps and we are a soap on here and I am embracing that as my mantra until my character is killed off. When posts don’t make it, it means for that episode we are not cutting the mustard and must -it is a non-verbal clue from the director and I am presently on re-curring and want to get contract but we all know any contract can be broken. Since many here can not differentiate between fiction and reality- dive into the pool like Shelly Winters in the Poseidon Adventure- any Chuck Pratt fancies himself the Irwin Allen of soaps but Irwin not only was a dedicated master with impeccable attention to detail- he made sure the characters had an interesting and believable story. I tire of the haters and the basic up or down votes on who did what to whom and instead desire to bring my Morgan Fairchild to the forefront on this the only stage that can support my weight. Speaking of, she was not a nice nice lady on The City and I speak the truth and mean behind the scenes- scenes that had to be filmed through a filter as she wanted to appear as young and vital as possible or heads would roll. I tend to wonder at the perception of some of rhe posters on this page. I don’t know if it’s because they aren’t familiar with Alexis due to being a recent viewer, have memory loss…or just lack psychological depth and perception.

Alexis had children by different fathers. Yes. So did Carly, Olivia, Elizabeth, Ava, Sabrina, Tracy…who else? Sure I’ m leaving someone (s) out. So why is there once again an Alexis-bashing conversation?

Nooooo…Kristina is not turning to women because of mommy issues…either she is gay, bi…or still suffering the residuals of the abuse she suffered when she was physically and emotionally abused…put into the hospital after being severely beaten by her ex boyfriend. Kristina then went on to obsess over Luke’s too-old-for her son Ethan and lied that he abused her too when he tried to let her down easy…and THEN Kristina went on to marry Trey and tried to blackmail Alexis and Sonny into letting him film a mob-related reality show about their family.

It was well established that NONE of Kristina’s acting out troubles were because of Alexis or her mothering skills. It was estabished Kristina had “daddy issues.” Because Alexis tried to shield Kdistina from Sonny and the mob, Kristin felt rejected, unloved and neglected by Sonny. She was constantly trying to hurt him to get his attention and notice her.

Through it all, Alexis was nothing but maternal, nurturing and supportive as always. Her children always came first in her heart and she was never promiscuous…unless you consider a single adult woman dating to be so. I don’t believe she has ever cheated on anyone…and was married to Ric, Molly’s father…who cheated on HER with Sam…while she had lung cancer! And STILL she forgave her daughter..and continues to be a devoted mother to her as well.

What Alexis said to Kristina today when told Parker was a woman was perfectly reasonable and supportive. She didn’t freak out or judge, she rightly pointed out Parker didn’t know Kristina’s troubled history with men and how it might explain the safety and attraction she might feel for a woman. I think Kristina should have thanked her mom for listening and just explained she was confused herself as to what her newfound attraction means…

    Alexis. Great female soap character….

Or, perhaps some of the posters on this page have a different view or opinion, which I believe is the purpose of the page – where we are invited to express these and when we do, if they are not in alignment with some other poster, are then treated to a complimentary shaming, psychiatric consult and their intelligence questioned. Why is that? Guess I lack the depth and perception to figure it out, but we of lesser minds still feel the pain when thrown under the bus.

It’s the same as Nikki Newman hitting the bottle each time Victor looks at her askance.
Thank you, my friend, for saying it for me.

    Rebecca1 replied

Actually Peggy…you’re right. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and in the best case scenario…without insults, snark or arguments. We’re all here to discuss fictional shows and fictional characters and you would think it wouldn’t…or couldn’t …ever get personal. But it has. And it does..

Interesting how everyone has different buttons that when pushed will respond. You were insulted and angry at my post. So…you responded angrily in kind. And that’s my point. If a poster were to continuously bash a gay character…if inferences were made about a gay character that were seen as derogatory, stereotypical, presumptuous, judgmental…I’m betting there would be some angry responses and nastiness surfacing. Same if something was said about a character’s race or religion. Probably would go from fun to hostile pretty fast. Same with age. And by extension, Alexis.

I have repeatedly been put off, offended and incensed about the ageist comments towards this character. Being in my 40′s…and female…I resent the CONSTANT references to Alexis bring too old to have and want sex…being described as amoral and sexually not normal for being such “at her age” and hearing about her “wrinkled” chest that shouldn’t be shown. No one but me has responded to the ridiculous insulting comments which is aimed yes, at a fictional character, but with the declaration that REAL women over a certain age are no longer sexually active, bordering on sexual addiction if they act like Alexis “at her age” , etc. Call this my hot button. I see red. You want to talk about or question how certain comments get through? Question how repeated ageist comments that insult mature women and insult an actor’s actual body get through!

So, if you and other posters were offended…I’m wondering where all the defensive indignation is when mature women, albeit represented by a fictional character, Alexis, is. Constantly defined by her age. My response was the product of the tiresome insinuations…that persist by a few posters on a regular basis. Those of you who got tied up in my reaction of THOSE insinuations repeated on many pages…got caught up in my Pavlovian response to that.

If not familiar with the ongoing Alexis age…sex debate…then, yes my comment seems out of the blue. I stand by my comment, but it was not directed at those who disagree on the character solely…just the few who have consistently made it about age. Gay, straight. Race, religion. Age. All hot topics. Depends which one you feel strongly enough to react to.

    CeeCee replied

    Oh, dear Peggy,
The point is THE LIES!THE TWISTING OF WORDS!! Where I and a couple others have said that a woman of a certain age should keep herself dignified, as it goes against everything that I know as being moral and dignified. My opinion. I do not care if this person sees red, purple or green. That is how I feel.
My mother is a lawyer. She does not go into the courtroom with her bosom exposed. And, I am sure she and my father still have sex. No one ever said a woman should not have sex after a certain age. This person took words out of context, as usual, and placed them here and there for her own benefit. Methinks she doth protest too much??? WHY???? Oh, yeah, she’s angered. But her insults should be accepted without a word and with a grain of salt? HA!!
Something else I do not understand how snyone can write 4 pages on the same boring litany against another person is beyond me. And, why was that allowed in print?
But, to fixate on one fictitious character while hurling insults at other posters, leaves one much to dpeculate. Big, fat issues!!!!!!!
The best thing to do, Peggy, is to ignore. But, no matter how hard we try, there is another post smack in our faces. I said this before, this person is either Nancy herself, a relative, or she simply LOVES the dallying lifestyle.
Is this poster going to take each and everyone of us on? I am sure there are more out there who feel as we do. How many times can this person repeat the same manure?
I am just grateful to you guys for coming forward to express what was coming to this person after almost two years of insolence against myself and Shay.
So, LET IT GO! Not worth it, my love.

I am done with the comments section. Michael Fairman invites all of us to share our wishes or thoughts or opinions on here- where we discuss fictional characters on television. And when we do, out come people with a different take or favorite or a character- fictional- from tv- and then come the bullys who can tell others how stupid or wrong they are or to move on and so forth. I see facebook pages and twitter feeds devoted to nasty vitriol and attacking others- all over, again, fictional characters from tv shows. Since you have elected yourself as the true Alexis historian, perhaps align with her nuturing, supportive non-judgemental qualities of which you speak. Since Alexis didn’t freak out or JUDGE why are you? I think Alexis would most certainly stand for freedom of speech and Nancy Lee Grahn’s twitter would seem to be in step with that as well.

I love Michael Fairman on air on soaps and his interviews and scoops and easy on the eyes and would watch him on a soap, for sure. But this playground does not seem safe so I do not participate. I understand comments are moderated, and from reading daily seems some don’t make it through. I would respectfully request clarity on this, as I was under the impression that the shows, characters, actors, all involved- were fair game for fans of whomever or non-fans of whomever. But more and more I see those that do say what they like or don’t are then immediately slammed with warnings or rude mean snarky comments on their thoughts, their lives or intelligence. And yes, I fear that so I refrain. But hit me with your best shots because this is still USA and each and every one of us is entitled to an opinion no matter how much you or I agree or disagree. Perhaps my comment will be filtered out but I implore that we have a safe place for all and a welcoming place and I can not help but think that is what Mr. Fairman would want on his playground and would so love to hear from him. Thank you.

Everyone on this thread…Here we go again about Alexis. Seems soaps have special characters that seem to provoke a lot of discussion. Alexis is one. I think everyone’s had their say. Let’s move on. Let me add…nice to see new contributor names lately.

I know you can say whatever you want (if it gets by the moderators), but what I have noticed recently, IMO, is that comments on several stories have been bordering on being less than “forgiving” in expressing their points of view towards each other and characters (writers set us up for this).

Maybe it’s the hangover I’ve got from the real world “opinions” going on now, but let’s maintain the general respect for each other, and how each of us can see things a little differently from our own biases. And who knows you may pick up something you hadn’t considered. From what I read MF is better than real and other sites for this. :)

Alexis is a great character, and I enjoy her as well as many others. I don’t post on here but this conversation and Barbara’s fear of posting comment mirrors my own ambivalence. I did not see Alexis bashing in the comments on this particular page- what i saw was some playful catty swats at her and other soap characters and it was in a thread of some of the most witty repartee- let’s see Laura must go- why no defense of her? I respect your right to your opinions, but your responses to those that respond to you seem contrived and Alexis is not a minority nor a real person even and you are the one that took it to a personal level- there was not a hint of that or of any malice but instead I read comments that were fresh and different as opposed to the usual I hate this writer or this and bla bla- it went further with people chiming in silly and funny things to be found in the trunk and what not. A smart attorney such as Alexis Davis I would think would want to win the jury over to her side- not alienate them and insult their intelligence- which in turn sways folks against her, so in your fervor to protect her- and many many of us on here are 50 and 60 plus years old and would like to see Monica have a lover- I am all for characters marginalized due to age to get whatever they can. Take care.

Dave M and others. Can’t promise, but I hope this is my last word on the two camps that have comments on Alexis. I have seen the friction happening since the beginning, which is a while back. At the time I responded my feelings about what I saw re: how ladies over a certain age should dress and behave.

I also saw the writers setting Alexis up for comments from those who feel very uncomfortable with these. And even the writers have been modifying past Alexis with new Alexis, especially since she got married.

But after a while I saw, depending on the episode, friction could flare up again, each side defending themselves and their positions on the same issues, with maybe a little more understanding with some about others points of view.

So I stopped. I had my say. It’s just not worth getting into a tizzy every time Alexis comes up. So I just quit talking about it. No one’s “winning” even though they have their right to keep the subject and how they feel alive.

The point is not Alexis is it? The point became insulting those posters whose opinions did not align with another certain poster. The name calling. The bashing of my husband when he came to my defense. I am his wife. This poster even took on my sister. She is a warrior. Likes to instigate. Well, it is about time these responses are arising in tandem.
Perhaps, now the insults will stop. But, I wouldn’t count on it. It’s an affliction. There’s no other explanation.
To enumerate, taking note, of every time I disagreed with another poster, very courteously, may, I add….is weird to me. Who does that? Who goes through old posts and picks out older comments from other posters?
So, while I appreciate your peaceable words, the attacks have never stopped. And, it’s only when Alexis is discussed , which infuriates this person….no one else. What’s up with that!!
If I am to be insulted, i will defend myself. My mama didn’t ‘raise’ no chicken.

CeeCee..cut it already. You must have responded fifteen times over one post. Let me congratulate you. A handful of people have come out of the woodworks to respond not once, not twice, but over and over with the most off-the-wall comments that have yet to post on this site. I get if some were put off…we’ve had this before on this site….with different people at different times. And as someone pointed out it happens everywhere online. Facebook, twitter, sites about primetime shows…sites about Trump vs Clinton, etc.

I said my peace, explained my reaction, was pleaant to those who were offended…and let it go. Because I’ve told you this before…in the scope of life…this is NOTHING compared to real problems…

But you can’t stop. You’re on a crusade. Each peryson that responded, you had to addtess personally. You keep referring to me as if I can’t “hear” you…and you instigate and antagonize and want to ensure that people are on your “team.” Take Rose for example. I thanked her for her neutrality and objeyctivity…you had to give a whole speech about you and Shay, etc. Did I mention you to Rose? Did I mention your name at all? No.

You keep repeating over and over again how everyone is entitled to their own opinion…and should not be attacked. Do you have selective recall? Do you remember that you and I were friendly out here until I gave my opinion that I thought the Nina-Ava episode where Nina went beserk and tried to take Ava’s baby was terrific. I thought it was greatly acted and a very intense, dare I say the word again…psychological intense scene of Nina’s unraveling. It was difficult to watch, very emotional…but still, i thought it great drama even though it was brutal. You didn’t allow me my opinion, you didnt respect my opinion, you didnt just disagree wirh my opinion. You accused me of enjoying babies being hurt! You attackyed me and accused me of something horrific because I was gripped by a soap scene! Where was your “everyone has a right to disagree or have hervown opinion” then?

Do you even realize the things you say? How you twist them? Who has tbeir husband and sister get involved in a spat on a soap site? Who needs that backup on a soap site!? And the kicker is you attacked me!!!! Then you tell me…”my friends are reading your comments and rhey’re laughing at you…my husband said…and then your sister, who is not a poster here, tells me she got on just to scream at me! And I attacked THEM!?

Oh..this was good too. Everytime someone says something unpleasant to you you tell people it’s me using another name! It’s so beyond juvenile and paranoid…someone by the name of G implied you were pregnant…and you’re telling Rose you think it’s me. You have no idea how many times I’ve had to hold myself back from posting a response when I’ve read stuff like that from you…I ignore it. Until now…because you’re still at it!

Oh. Yes…we’re the same height and weight. Yes, I love to dance. I wrote that I believe to Rose while explaining something and what did you do? You posted that you and your sister thought I was lying because how could I possibly be the same height, weight and like ro dance…just like you!

I am seeing comments about women 40 and over and gays on here that seem pretty harsh. Not gay not a woman not into hassles. I like seeing all types portray like real people but over 40 and gays are just supposed to be in the background I don’t like it. And the haters write those letters and keep the status quo I think.

Today was a banner day – I am enjoying the pace and we are about to have some action. Ava bringing Kiki to see Morgan was so touching to me and then Carly gets right in her face-but that is Carly- Remember -anybody- Lana Turner, Johnny Stompanado, and what happened in Hollywood? I would so embrace Julian’s dark side brought forefront- and it does seem we might be headed there. It is time for Alexis Davis to pay the piper. Anyone willing to chip in?

    Reply

    CeeCee replied

Sure, Maureen. I do not know much except what I have seen for the last couple of years, and from what others have said. ……which is; Alexis has had many lovers, whether in love with them or not, and she has an unrealistically greedy sexual appetite.
I do remember one specific peccadillo: she had a one night stand with Ned while professing to be sooooo in love with Julian, who did the same thing with Olivia. How does a woman be so intimate with man without being in love with him?
The difference is, we do not see Olivia spend so much time in bed.
So, is Alexis to pay the piper for having no regard/self-respect for her body? Or, does she pay the piper for enabling and sleeping with a hoodlum/carbonaro/bandito, and putting him before her girls?
    Is this chipping-in? LOL.

I have truly guffawed and to me these naughty boys and gals lead you into play with them and you are always kind and – I eagerly await your thoughts and what you are going to get into next and I hope that does not seem weird to you- I mean it with nothing but sincere appreciation and I love your adventures with the other writers on here and extremely witty, bright sometimes bawdy- the most outstanding and interesting of comments in a dynamic I have read nowhere else and God bless.

We be old, Mo. Lana Turner, Madame X, discovered in Schwabs drugstore if memory serves- signed to MGM and a star is born. The sweater girl, I believe. Pick up years later and Lana is divorced and mother to teen-age daughter Cheryl and dating “reputed mobster” Johnny Stompanado. He was a big creep and dangerous and started abusing Lana once she chilled on him and baby girl picked up a pistol and killed Johnny. The trial was life imitating art and scandalous and many wondered if Cheryl had actually covered for her mother. Lana played with fire and felt the heat- scorching- but in this drama, the mobster got a sweet taste of his own medicine and to see that in some way played out on GH would be most welcome to me.

She may be intelligent–but has not been written as a funny, complicated character lately–earlier on, lately, not so much, er, not at all. But Nancy has to play it like it lays, doesn’t she? After all, she is in that dreaded category of “older actress” and probably feels (sigh!) lucky to be working. More’s the pity!

    Rose replied

What Alexis and history has shown is that even for the most intelligent, etc of women love can be blind. At least Carly has always understood Sonny can’t change his stripes. But Alexis? Wonder why writers always have always given her a diet of the bad boys except Jax and Ned?

    Dave M replied

I can’t speak for Maureen, but my take on this comment was she was being over-the-top dramatic like they often are in the soaps- no diss on Alexis but surely you have heard other soap characters- “they must pay for this.” But also, for Alexis to take Julian at his word- and who wouldn’t want to- he is charming and handsome and he does love her i think but has been lying to her and she accepts it- which often happens when one is in love–I am not dissing Alexis so please don’t attack me.

  17. rebecca1 says:

Okay…I’m going to repeat this once more. I have already stated where my comment came from. It was a reaction to the CONSTANT reference to the character’s, Alexis…age. One particular poster, who is taking such joy at the negative reactions to my post…knows quite well the comments she’s written for months and months…that Alexis was too old to want or have so much sex “at her age”…not normal for ” her age”…it’s biologically proven….her cleavage is WRINKLED, she shouldnt be concentrating on love but at this time of her life her focus should be on her children and grandson and she should be home knitting booties. These comments are just some of the highlights. I expressed my different opinion and told this poster that love and sex…passion, lust, doesnt stop at 40…the poster is 29. She didnt agree…said love, sex ,goals werre for younger people…and someone like Alexis…someone her age…though “sexually capable” til death..is no longer much of a sexual being because of age and hormones…

Now. I respectfully, over and over explained that was not so…and and since Im in my forties and closer in age to the character .as are my friends that age and older…that sex doesn’t end or have to wane. And that Alexis is not “oversexed!” bordering on sexual addiction as this poster said. So, each time she repeats these things and feels validated when other posters disparage rhe character it pushes my button…

So. Though no one on THIS page other than said poster who referred to her as “oversexed” again…because of her age…said anything age-relayed…it got tied in to the history. Honestly? For all the poster’s declarations that she never said these things…I really wish we had dates and posts to show that she did…and still does…and as a female over 40, the comments are ageist and insulting. Because if Alexis…a fictional character of a certain age is considered old, sexually addicted for still being sexual, wrinkled and should be home knitting booties…the implication is offensive to all mature women . You can feel as I do or not. But if any poster consistantly diparaged a group you identify with, you too might be on the defensive.

    I stand by my opinion…

As for my generalized statement about psychological analysis…ya…I really am amazed at times how differently a character is perceived. Morgan is another example…he’s been called spoiled, selfish, whiney, etc…when it’s been obvious for a long time tgat not only did he live in Muchael’s shadow…he’s been suffering from mental illness. Still, people found fault. Others called Emma spoiled and a brat. Is everyone entitled to his-her opinion? Yep. Just sometimes it astounds…

I am new here and since home Friday have spent several hours reading, eating, chain-smoking. It is 4 am. I read Michael Fairman’s personal story about how he was bullied and turned to the soaps, as did I. Been crying and I don’t cry often or share online ever. Terrified. I have been so profoundly -I don’t know but I see other people that I can so relate to in an environment of my stories that have been a part of my life since as long as I can remember. I remember making friends with an older woman who was gay, as I knew I was and so ashamed and so clueless and she went into the bookstore- and it was not a dirty one just the regular type and there was a new book out that was like a primer for gays and I was too afraid to buy it so she did for me. Maybe that seems stupid or sissified to you. I too am afraid- I never have the desire to share my thoughts or to be ridiculed or engage. But this site and this whatever it is. I have tried to sleep and I think of Barbara or another on here also afraid but has since just let out his voice in such an amusing way. I did have a point I thought but am so poised for being ridiculed I hard time to type my words.
What a wild ride I have gotten on to and am holding on tight because I do not know where it will go next. This is Rodney King, OJ, Mary Tyler Moore – I thought it was one thing and then it was another- like I thought how funny and oh no and what and – dinner and a movie and a mystery and a car accident that was not an accident. And I am in Llanview and Port Charles and Genoa City. Thrilling and scary and so very entertaining and educating as I find I am not alone in so many of my thoughts and feelings and that is such a release. And now I can not seem to make sense I apologize. But thank you.

Your heartfelt contributions have made for an absolutely fascinating thread full of creativity, wit, and a gamut of sincere emotions. Reading all these new posts from you has been such a pleasurable, exhilarating experience, and I hope that the overwhelmingly positive responses you have received from the MFSoaps regulars will bring you back for more! Nobody should ever be made to feel reluctant to state their own unique opinions here just because of a few less than gracious reactions that I’ve—or even my good friends CeeCee and Timmm—have received. Overall, my time spent here has been really, truly lovely, as have been the vast majority of people that I’ve encountered during these past couple of years. Therefore, it utterly saddens me to think that anyone could have been dissuaded from participating due to the concern that they may likewise be subjected to the same sort of sorry treatment offered up by only the minutest of numbers, especially when such occurrences are certainly not indicative of the usually enjoyable and highly affable atmosphere that pervades this website…. not the least because of the fine, hospitable example set by Mr. Fairman himself. Finally, whilst there have admittedly been isolated incidents that have caused even an outgoing, gregarious type as myself to be given temporary pause, I’ve always chosen to rise above them, since I have too much fondness and respect for the many superb individuals that regularly frequent this website. To abandon them because of the occasional spoilsport would not only be a disservice to those special souls, but to myself, as well. So, to anyone who still may feel a bit unsure about joining this grand ongoing conversation on all things soaps, I say make that leap and the sooner, the better!!!!! You’re in for a rewarding and wonderful time. Goodnight all!!!!!

So what if you rip their physical features to shreds all in the name of humor, cause, after all, you’re the epitome of goodness and just the right poster to reach out…

But yes, by all means, carry on…you of proper etiquette and non-offensive ways. It really is amusing to see how long you can keep this going…after all, you were there for round one….

    Alexis Davis Jerome replied

I love humor -even if it is occasionally at my expense. Being in the public eye, I and my co-workers are judged and criticized by the press and public as a matter of course. We all have our fans and our detractors. Even on daytime television, which pays a pittance compared to primetime, etc- I am a millionaire. I will take the trade–off. I have fame, fortune, and a wonderful life and no amount of zings or swipes is going to get me down and I certainly getting in a few of my own- believe me. Sometimes that can backfire, but drink and tweet and learn. I was enjoying what I honestly felt was a great fun thread of jokes and rhymes and memories of classic dramas and some swipes at me and others- well this is a site to do that and nothing was abusive or that sort of dialogue -in my opinion it was lighthearted breezy wordplay. But one of the reasons I enjoy the law- it was questioned why do adults need rules on here? Why indeed. While most follow the speedlimit- more and more refuse to- not only not following the speedlimit, but forging their own agenda and highways and biways meant to demean and attack the other drivers on this road. Or they incessantly and disturbingly promote an agenda that I believe is only to incite and hurt, as they want to feel powerful in some way and pain brings immediate results at assuaging their own hurts that run so deep. So I would- as was previously voiced- ask for clarity or a claritin as my allergies are killing me. Nice to have a playground, but the bullies on here make me want to run off, from here and to my shows which I can love or hate and all that we do, but not personally attacked when I do.

Something about this quite lengthy page -well several things have really just made me think. First, I guess- the folks that have faced their fears- and is not that what soaps for decades have done- brought things to light and made us feel okay and not so alone and a sense of family no matter how screwed-up our real or soap families are. I now can see how Ron Carlavati is trashed by so many- because some of his wit and humor went right over their heads. Who speaks with JFP or CP or RC or anyone else even remotely connected to the industry even the craft services tables- well the only one I am sure is MF and the rest of you insiders on these pages and in the know and so powerful- feed the hungry and shelter the homeless for your next big feat. Toodles!

That was simply heartfelt, very altruistic writing, Rhonda. So true and sincere; I heard and felt every word. You speak the same language, as so many on this board.
Re: “feed the hungry and shelter the homeless”. How gallant and charitable, your words!!
I dedicate much of my time doing just that. It is very rewarding.
My heart has been wounded and lost something very precious ( my baby boy), but, I have blessed with two more healthy children, and so much more, in my life. I support those who need who need food, shelter and medical attention.
Coming to these sites and being welcomed by most is like taking a healthy breather. Mr. Fairman is the best….he knows when he’s had enough…LOL.
I do not participate in Facebook or Twitter or any other type of social media. Too precipitous.
Good health to you, and thank you!

Many strange disease throughout the years on soaps. Anne Tyler had toxoplasmosis. I don’t recall Munchausen’s by proxy syndrome on the soaps, but a rather bizarre on-line offshoot of the sydrome seems to be spreading and is the suffered takes on the identity of the fictional character- yet without good writing they themselves bemoan- they veer into attacking other real folks or can only fixate on one fictional character or actor who must either be sainted or fired or mated with another. As college classes on the soaps were created, I am so hopeful they will study these soapmutant syndromes and perhaps give the sufferers- both their victims and themselves- relief.

There is only one poster on this page that exhibits stalker symptoms. It is not Dave or CeeCee or Shay. So, I guess it will now be me, is that how it works? Since we are now calling out people by name Rebecca of Nastibrooke Farms- you espouse how wretched it is that actors are poked fun at and you throw in mental illness and every possible tug-at-the heart and cuddly kittens- in your hillbilly highway to hell one-man campaign to malign and while you grasp at your straws and what seems tenuous hold on reality- certainly any shred of decency has long-since been torn asunder- but how you are here to stand up to those that say such terrible, hurtful things- and now I will be added to your hitlist as well. Seems most of the folks -most- on here are reasonable and intelligent- and are not lining up in agreement with you in any way shape or form- yet even that is a conspiracy.

I can not believe this! Whatever is going on here- and I am convinced it is this and then it is that and I am suffering from the worst alleriges and feel horrible but I drag out of bed to see what has happened next on here. I am addicted, I am fascinated, I am completely blown away and I have not led a sheltered life. I am incensed, laughing, crying–without a doubt, this is the best daytime, anytime on air on soaps on steroids drama and I say BRAVO! At this point, I could care less about the daytime Emmys– I think this site deserves some emmys and I will announce my picks for nominations but most certainly Michael Fairman for best in Direction, Writing, and Editing- as the “characters” on here and their “lines” and the drama- I mean it seriously something so damned unique, informative, educational, irrational, delightful. I put forth that we name this town- Fairman City or Fairview or Fairman Valley and I wholeheartedly embrace the most delightful cast – and I can not see their faces but I have already in my mind’s eye assigned these people faces and personalities as they reveal themselves here before us so spectacularly. And this does not just “Happen”. I would swear there are TV writers and actors on here and if not certainly meets the caliber if not exceeds. I want to keep going on- jeez Louise I am so loving this!

This was a boring town until a few weeks ago- and then came the invaders and all bets are off! And then it was funny and out-of-the-box and then –AND THEN- along comes the vilian- and at first I thought this and that and then want to leave but peek in and then realize- every damn good drama has a least one- and we are live witness to the townsfolk- we ARE the townsfolk- and many that have resided here for years have fled this tornado- some have tried to hold on but are blown away and then this same storm blows in new folks who immediately claim this town as theirs and build up their homesteads and then another storm- am I daffed or does anyone see this as glorious drama that I do and pray and beg for more or will the tornado take me???

Sides taken against the invasion- many long-term alliances crumble and outspoken suddenly silent- turning away- waiting for it to blow over but it keeps storming and then calms, the victims tallied and buried or hospitalized and just when we most assured it is over and safe and who it that at the door?

Just love this. But seems the townfolk have jumped ship and don’t care to stand up to bashers and haters. I applaud the few that refuse to be bullied, shamed and attacked and often for reasons that seem mighty strange. And there is more than one villain in the mix here and they are offensive but seem to have no problem getting their digs in at others on a daily basis and is that just to keep things interesting? We never get the satisfaction of -well we don’t on the soaps anymore either, really- the villains are in jail for a week at most and pardoned or ill and released and not killed off or run out of town or really any consequences for their actions.

@Mark….As my good friend, CeeCee, has already noted, we’re experiencing but a short hiatus in this ongoing saga…believe you me, we’ve been here time and time again, and this long-standing continuing drama will simply not abate…stay tuned!!! Oh, and glad you have joined this party—better late than never!—-even if we do need to restock the refreshment table. Not to worry….plenty more of those chips on the way, I assure you!

This is the Fairman International Institute for the Dramatic Arts! Comparable to Julliard, and The place to learn ones craft-be it acting, casting, writing, producing, directing-etc. The best and brightest from these halls have gone on to many places, including rehab and jail. All are welcomed here- thanks to generous grants from the various foundations in Genoa City and beyond. Many fail to attend the classes- and amazingly have found careers within these hallowed halls where they make our casting decisions and have creative control of their bladders. The school is most generous, welcoming, and forgiving, but there are rules and when repeatedly violated, a transfer is often made to a lesser school where the discipline is most barbarian, one could say “shocking” in its treatments of naughty thespians. An “Ivy” league school with some method acting that results in electrifying performances.
