The highly anticipated debut of Donna Mills on General Hospital happened on last Friday’s episode of General Hospital and continued today on the ABC soap opera.
The Knots Landing favorite, who GH head writer Ron Carlivati and executive producer Frank Valentini, sought after to play the role of Madeline Reeves who is the mother of never-before-seen or yet to be seen, Nina comes to Port Charles and wants to get her hands on all of Nina’s fortune! She believes Nina’s hubby, Silas (Michael Easton) administered the drugs that put Nina into a coma 20 years ago, and so does Madeline’s son, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey)! Yup, that’s right!
Donna Mills spoke with TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan to give some insight into her new character and some of the back-story, and what to look for during her, for now, two month story arc!
Mills related on Madeline’s story: “As I read the scripts, I keep going, ‘Really? Really?’ Madeline believes Silas married Nina for her money and family name. He didn’t want a wife, he wanted a scholarship fund. Now he’s a successful doctor and doesn’t need the money.”
But as we have come to find out, Madeline wants the moolah, and Mills added: “She is feeling kind of paranoid. Her husband died and left her and her son absolutely nothing. All the money went to Nina. So now it’s Madeline’s mission to get Silas to give up that inheritance.”
As for Madeleine’s son. Nathan, Mills revealed: “She’s very happy that Nathan has chosen to avenge his sister and that he’s trying to pin it on Silas, but she doesn’t like that he became a cop in order to do it. Madeline considers police work a very lowly, undignified profession. It’s so beneath her stature! She’s very complicated. Very screwed up. And I can’t wait to unravel the mystery as to why her husband left her without a cent.”
