  1. Barbara from Atlanta says:

Alas, Siobhan Finneran (who played O’Brien, the manipulative lady’s maid to Cora for the first 3 seasons) is not listed. This show really lost something when O’Brien was written off, taking a job as a lady’s maid in India. I was hoping that we would get another scene or two with her.

O’Brien was the perfect “bad but not completely evil” character on the show and Finneran was excellent in the part. Things were just not as interesting when O’Brien wasn’t there to stir the pot. Thomas Barrow was also a good “bad” character but he couldn’t carry it as well without friend/enemy O’Brien mixing it up as well.

So you’re saying that Downton Abbey was one character for you? A minor character?

    Barbara from Atlanta replied

I’m NOT saying that at all. I enjoyed the show very much. However, I thought the show really lost some of its appeal when O’Brien left.

There are a LOT of good characters on the show. There were very few characters who were as good at being BAD as O’Brien. She kept everyone on guard.

    Carolina replied

I always wanted to watch this but not if they only delivered 12-15 episodes per season.

“Game of Thrones” only gives us ten and six years in, I still can’t forgive them.

I cannot believe it’s ending! Such a beautiful show, from production to wardrobe, acting & scripts. I will truly miss this masterpiece!!

  3. Rapids says:

I’m hoping Edythe finds happiness and can tell the world about her little girl. I also hope Tom returns for good to run the estate.
This show has been such a treasure but they are smart to go out on top, just like the HBO and Showtime shows generally do. Maybe they can do some specials in years to come to catch up on everyone.

Having already seen the entire last series… i am quite certain i did not see Rose in the finale episode.

    Mark Y replied

Isn’t there a episode that airs on Christmad Day in the UK? That will be the final episode.

    btian replied

I stand corrected. You are right. I haven’t seen that episode. Lets hope Rose will be in it.

    Shay replied

@brian….Rose is featured in the final episode to be presented on Christmas Day in the UK….it’s already been revealed in the British press.

  5. JANET says:

I am looking forward to this show. I wish it wasn’t the last one I love the show and all the characters. Must be because one person is responsabale for it. Too many cooks spoil the broth. I thought I read the women who played O”Brien wanted out. she didn’t want to play it anymore.
