10 January 11th, 2016 Eva Longoria Visits THE TALK & Dishes On How Her Time On Y&R Prepared Her For TELENOVELA!

Eva Longoria stopped by The Talk on Monday afternoon to promote an all new episode of her new NBC comedy series Telenovela (8:30PMET/PT) tonight.  Longoria’ latest project  takes a look at life in front of the camera and behind the scenes of a Spanish-speaking soap.

During Longoria’s discussion of her previous forays into soaps, when talking about former Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry’s thoughts on the difference between a daytime soap and a primetime one, Eva related that Marc always said: “The difference between daytime soaps and nighttime soaps are the men are the divas!”

When Y&R fan and The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood brought up Longoria’s “cray-cray” days as Isabella on the CBS Daytime drama, and how it helped prepare her for her role and creating Telenovela, Longoria said she used a lot of themes from her time in Genoa City: “Everything about it  …  all of the drama behind the scenes … who’s banging who … the young ingenue nipping at your heels … and the older actress getting pushed out of the way!”

Watch what Eva said during her segment on The Talk after the jump!  Then let us know: do you agree with Marc Cherry’s assessment that men are the biggest divas on daytime soaps?  Do you remember Eva as Paul’s (Doug Davidson) wife, Isabella?  Her thoughts on her time at Y&R? Are you enjoying Telenovela? Comment below!

I tried to watch Telenovela, give it chance
I found it to be to be spoofing soaps or stupid, something not right about it.

    I dunno, perhaps I’ll have another look-see

  2. Melissa says:

I can absolutely believe daytime men are the divas. They drive story (look at Sonny on GH); hold out for better contracts (Eric Braedonon Y&R); and demand changes to scripts (Geary on GH). But are they worth it?

  3. Mo says:

I didn’t watch Y&R when it was on.

I was looking forward to Eva’s show and wanted to love it, but I don’t. I couldn’t get through the second episode.

    Donna replied

The show is terrible, and Eva is a slut whore in real life.

    DYLAN replied

And you know her SO well to pass that kind of judgment. Settle your kettle and don’t post such disgusting things about another human being!

    Helen replied

I have to agree with you Donna. Eva is a slut, the woman gets around. LOL.

    Mo replied

I meant when SHE was on. LOL

  4. Melissa says:

I just watched Telenovela last night and really liked it. Thought it was genuinely funny and had a lot of heart. Yes it spoofed soaps but, let’s face it, soaps are kind of spoof worthy.

I love this show! It is really campy, like a cross between Soap and Dynasty. It is very tongue-in-cheek. My hubby watches it too, and we laugh out loud every time.

    Give it a try!
