Eva Longoria stopped by The Talk on Monday afternoon to promote an all new episode of her new NBC comedy series Telenovela (8:30PMET/PT) tonight. Longoria’ latest project takes a look at life in front of the camera and behind the scenes of a Spanish-speaking soap.
During Longoria’s discussion of her previous forays into soaps, when talking about former Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry’s thoughts on the difference between a daytime soap and a primetime one, Eva related that Marc always said: “The difference between daytime soaps and nighttime soaps are the men are the divas!”
When Y&R fan and The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood brought up Longoria’s “cray-cray” days as Isabella on the CBS Daytime drama, and how it helped prepare her for her role and creating Telenovela, Longoria said she used a lot of themes from her time in Genoa City: “Everything about it … all of the drama behind the scenes … who’s banging who … the young ingenue nipping at your heels … and the older actress getting pushed out of the way!”
