The great General Hospital is not included.. ”snubbed.
I will not watch, boycott in way I guess is what it is.. So not wasting a nice day on them..
And besides GH would be the only soap I’d really care about..
I will be reading the winners and loser for a month on the boards/sites whichever after anyways,..

You’re not going to watch, su000? I am sure they will be utterly devastated to learn of your boycott.

    Harry, I agree!!
The awards will most likely halt until I tune in .. lol

Thing is; these are not soap opera awards, only..
there will a ton of talk and game show stuff I never watch to care about them..
I have never watched B&B or DOOL and no GH to speak of, so that leaves Y&R for what I watch and I won’t sit through hours of talk and game show awards for Y&R….
and I am seriously thinking of dumping Y&R and giving DOOL a try.. Exciting huh..
Anyways.. we will be bombarded with the winning clips and pic etc, so no need for me to sit through it all .. lol
I hope you enjoy it, Harry and that the winners are your picks/likes..
(make pop corn and have a fun watching!

I long for the days when ATWT, AW, GL, walked the red carpet and we celebrated with SO much more

Christina Crawford would be great! Are you familiar with “The Secret Storm”? Her mother stepped in for her when she was on sick leave!

I know about Joan Crawford, and The Secret Storm. Former daytime star Jada Rowland started on the show as a young child Amy Ames and was on and off the show til the very end…they never aged her character…she then replaced Carolee Cambell as Carolee Aldrich on The Doctors serial and stayed in the part til the shows end in the early 1980s. For many years The Doctors was a top soap sandwiched between DOOLs and AW!

  4. JC says:

GH has two presenters like the other show (expect Y&R which has three). GH may of not gotten series, writing, directing but it still has SEVERAL nominations.

    Mary SF replied

They had the third most nominations after Y&R and B&B–but it seems most people only care about the “big” categories—but in the end like I always say, viewers are the winners because we get to enjoy the talents of many people day in and day out.

Will the Daytime Emmy Awards be televised this year?

    Reply

    Matthew replied

No. The show gets such low ratings and with GH being snubbed in the major categories and advertisers worried that GH fans who bring in the advertising demo won’t tune in, no one wants to carry it.

there are only 3 just 3 soaps..
I would not care to sit through all the talk and game shows stuff, not at all..
The daytime emmy soap winners videos will be all over soap land after to view ……

    good luck to all nominated!!

And- that makes me a time saver! giving me that time for a long peaceful walk :)

I will hear about and see clips/videos for GH awards, after.. I will miss nothing .. lol

    Harry replied

That would be four soaps but who’s counting?

    Matthew replied

Fitting that the emmy’s won’t be televised since GH got robbed! Best show on daytime! No question! What a joke. They should just give up on the ceremony. The nomination process is ridiculous! Why do so many actors get snubbed whenever they have a stellar year just to be nominated the following year when the material doesn’t compare to the previous eligibility period? One example would be Kelly Sullivan. Last year she submitted her rape and multiple personality scenes which were phenomenal and got shut out. This year her scenes paled in comparison and she gets the nod. The Emmy’s are DOA. Dump em!

I think Michael Muhney(Adam) of Y&R should have been nominated. Y&R gave him a raw deal. He deserved Best Actor, but wasn’t even nominated. So sad, they fired him just before Christmas, he has a wife and 3 small children. What a Christmas present. He was accused of a few things, non proven or talked about since. He wasn’t even given a fair chance to prove these things wrong. Not to proud of Y&R and there producer.

I was hoping Michael Easton and Roger Howarth would present since they weren’t nominated as much as they deserved it. GH and many GH actors were robbed this year! I hope Jason and some of the others win. Mostly, I wish it would get a network to televise it! Step up CBS! You got all the noms and have the most soaps!

Years ago the daytime Emmy Awards were a big deal and the soaps were a big deal. The soap awards seem almost meaningless, how can you nominate four shows when there are only four soaps on the air. This event has dropped tremendously in importance over the years.

    Way I see it;
The 4 soaps will get overshadowed by a slew of talk and game shows emmy nominations from ALL the networks..
The poor soaps are slipped in among them all ..

    Mary SF replied

I partly agree, but in the end these awards began and always were an inside industry way to recognize outstanding work, whether in front or behind the camera. Other industries have such awards, most are not televised or hold any interest for the general public, but I am sure the importance for those who are being honored is still there.
Honestly, I think all award shows should be private affairs over the years they became less and less about the work and more and more about who is attending and what are they wearing— I stopped watching all of them saved the Oscars, my one indulgence, but after this year’s snooze fest I might give up on that one too.

The Emmy ceremonies are to be held on Friday night, June 20th !
That gives a network around 35 days days to arrange all the fanfare for it to air, not possible if it will be worth watching..
    Thing is;
No Network even wants to air the Day Time Emmies..
Seems it is not worth their time and effort to hold/sponder the emmies..

Gone are the real daytime Emmys, when it was full of clips of the 10 soaps on air. It started becoming a treat to see a clip, or even have a host that had SOMETHING to do with soaps! Now that nobody wanted to air it, they will finally load up on the soap stars to present all the awards, including the two cancelled at same time, & left only 3 & a half soaps? #Toolittletoolate Happy for the stars to shine that night, sad for soap fans. Will NEVER forgive ABC/D!
