8 April 21st, 2011 FIRST LOOK: Y&R’s Genie Francis pic from CBS Daytime Photo Shoot!

Check this out! CBS tweeted this afternoon a fantastic shot from a new and first CBS photo shoot with Genie Francis and Daniel Goddard. Genie looks amazing! We can’t wait as her new alter-ego Genevieve, Cane’s mum,  to hit the ground running on The Young and the Restless, and how she plays into the canvas.

Fantastic news for daytime in a very difficult time in the genre, to welcome a true soap icon, the legendary Francis back to the fold.   Brilliant move from the number one soap on the air.

Hope you are all gearing up for the Cane story and what is really going down?  We all want some answers! Looks like Y&R is ready to give some and more.

    Let’s face it…there is only one Genie Francis, and as much as I will miss Susan Lucci, Erika Slezak, and Robin Strasser, Genie is herself a true daytime legend. Haven’t watched “Young and Restless” since the mid ’90′s, but I am coming back to it big time. The day Genie debuts we are having a “I Dream of Genie” party celebrating Miss Francis’ return to daytime.

    Wow…hard to imagine that actually happening, but I definitely agree. I’m happy enough with Genie alone, but adding both Francis and Lucci would make ‘Y&R’ THE definition of soap. With that much power, and some fine writing, I can’t imagine anything else would even come close.

    Will love to have her back on daytime, but the picture just confirms it – she’s too young to play Cane’s mom – there is only 9 years difference between Genie and Daniel – and she looks younger than her age. And 16 years between Genie and TR – it’s gonna be strange. Sorta like Jessica Leccia being the mother of all those fully grown Ford brothers on OLTL….
