FOX is still looking for their hit fashion world soap opera to bring to primetime audiences! And now it has been announced that the network has bought a new scripted drama about the world of high fashion from American’s Next Top Model co-developer/executive producer Ken Mok!
The soap is titled Scarlatti and is being written by former 90210 scribe, Marjorie David. The show will center on a multi-generational dynasty struggling for control of their billion-dollar fashion empire! Sounds a bit like The Bold and the Beautiful to us!
According to Deadline.com, “For veteran unscripted producer Mok, this marks a return to his scripted roots. He was director of current programming at NBC and director of comedy development for ABC before he joined MTV as VP of MTV TV Prods. where he started overseeing and producing reality shows, including Top Model, Stylista and Pussycat Dolls Present. Scarlatti reunites Mok with Fox chairman Kevin Reilly who worked together as junior executives at NBC. Mok has occasionally developed script projects, including a Dane Cook comedy at UPN, but will now make a more concerted effort in the arena.”
So soapers, what do you think about the concept of Scarlatti? Would you be apt to tune-in to this? Let us know!
