97 July 9th, 2015 GENERAL HOSPITAL: A Lante Shake-Up! Dominic Zamprogna and Emme Rylan Deliver Power Performances!

Photo: @LaughingPenguin

A Lante shake-up and break-up?  That is where things appear to be heading for long-suffering and long-loving duo, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu Spencer Falconeri (Emme Rylan) after Wednesday’s episode of General Hospital!

After Lulu arrives back in Port Charles, she heads home to Dante and their child, Rocco, where things have gone off the rails!  First, Dante has had sex with Valerie (Brytni Sarpi).   And of course, Lulu left town with Dillon (Robert Palmer Watkins) to save her brother Lucky (Jonathan Jackson), and her parents Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura ( Genie Francis), and lied to Dante about the whole thing to protect her family, because the kidnapper said no cops should be involved.

Before Lulu can explain what happened and why she was with Dillon, Dante has already ripped into his wife for shacking up with Mr. Quartermaine!  After venomous words are hurled at the unsuspecting Lulu, she is completely caught off guard.  Then the conversation goes deep where Lante discusses Lulu’s need for her father’s approval and need for Spencer adventure!

Finally, Lulu assures and pleads with Dante that he can trust her, and that she did not have sex with Dillon.  She says: “Baby you can trust me, just like I trust you.”   To which Dante replied with tears in his eyes of guilt, “Except, you can’t.”

Major kudos to General Hospital stalwarts Dominic Zamprogna and Emme Rylan who delivered emotional and powerful performances in material that was able to showcase their acting talents.  Kudos also to @laughingpenguin who created this image in the post!

Now going into the rest of this week and next, do you think Dante will admit he had sex with Valerie?  Do you think he will lie to Lulu?  Is this the end of Lante? Are you digging the chemistry between Dante and Valerie and rooting for them to become a bonafide couple instead? What did you think of the performances of Dominic and Emme? Weigh-in below!

What took #GH so long to put these too front & centre? These two powerhouses should be LEADS! But why not showcase them in serious sweep period? Wrong couples and story lines foci are a huge part of why #GH is missing mark with ratings. #Lante was the last genuine ROMANCE and well built love story on the show. GH needs to get back to focusing on romance and #LoveInTheAfternoon as opposed to sex romps and quickie relationships with little or no build. Now onto putting this Humpty and Dumpty #Lante back together!

Lulu will figure it out nine months from now if you know—and im certain you do—what i mean??? I liked Val at first and was hoping Pat would be around and we’d learn more of their side of the Spenser family and see them intereact with the rest of their family like Bobbi, Lucas but its obvious she was brought in just to break up Lante…and i knew it all along—i did predict it!!!

  4. Matilda says:

Dante’s actions in all of this have been totally OOC. Dante is a cop, he’s smart, he is straight forward and always up front. This whole story has been extremely thin and contrived as is all of GH. The reasoning behind Lulu not being able to tell Dante the reason for leaving, the fact that she did leave and left with Dillon, all contrived. If there was a story written properly, if the reasoning and actions were believable, I would have no problem with it. But it is all so basic and contrived.

There is no point to Valerie other than to be there for Dante to sleep with her. Do I dig the chemistry? No. There is none. Valerie is totally useless as a character, she exists as a plot point. So far, I find her to be just about the worst Cartini creation and that’s saying something.

Dillon is on all of a month and already this has happened. There is no story. There is no logic. Throwing him into the Luke story was ridiculous, doing it so that we can pretend that he and Lulu are closer than their actual history so that Dante can jump to conclusions and sleep with Valerie. Again, no real story. (And I loved when Lulu told Dante that she and Dillon used to tag along on Luke’s adventures. Another ridiculous RC rewrite).

Dom Z’s performance was very good given the terrible material and dialogue. But the scenes, the aftermath, the confrontation, would suggest a much better story leading up to it and we didn’t get it. Just more contrived plot and characters acting stupid and OOC. And another character that you don’t want to root for. This is Cartini’s GH. It is why the show is in the tank and it isn’t going to get better with them.

Matilda, I agree with every point you made. I mean, if I traveled all the way to Canada to confront my presumed cheating spouse, I would confront her–not her clothes. It was out of character for Dante to assume the worst of Lulu and to go against his instincts which must have been screaming,”No, this is not what it appears to be!”

My only wish for this storyline would be that I wish they made Valerie her own independent character and established her before she and Dante had sex. Because as of now she looks like just another point in the plot and I do think Valerie could have potential, if written correctly.

    Jimmy replied

    AMEN!

Valerie is being written as a plot device, not as a character. She hasn’t had any meaningful story since her introduction, which is a shame because she is a long lost Spencer and has so much potential to be wasted on a story like this. The actress, however, doesn’t have the talent for the part. It’s painful watching her in scenes because it sounds like she’s just reading lines, she has no chemistry with anyone (including Dante), and she looks totally out of place.

They need to jettison this story ASAP, recast the role with a better actress, and do something meaningful with Valerie. Like, for example, who is her dad? Why was he never around, and it was just her and her mom? Maybe her father is part of the Ward family, connecting her to another core family. The point is, she should have her own story, because, like I said, she’s a SPENCER and has so much potential.

I once read someone suggest that the TPTB should make Judge Walters her father so that could tie her into the Q’s. I think that could be an interesting story. And I do agree on what you said about the recast. It’s almost painful to watch her try to be emotional.

I completely agree with you. It is painful watching Valerie. She has absolutely NO CHEMISTRY with Dante or anyone else for that matter. I just hope they get rid of her fast.

Dante has FINALLY come to life! Even though he jumped to conclusions and cheated on his wife he at least discarded Lulu’s excuses about L&L and her brothers being in danger. You know, through the years Luke and Laura’s escapades have always affected others and I love how Dante shut her up about that lame excuse due to it causing their marriage to foil. In other words, she put her brother [s] before her son and husband! Enough is a enough!

    Reply

    CeeCee replied

So, the payback is cheating on his wife, Timmm?
I can certainly understand his anger, hurt, confusion, even. I am not exculpating Lulu, by any means. There is an ocean of a difference between taking off from getting down to business. He should have trusted his wife. When she had her doubts and misgivings about Valerie, he quashed her fears…she trusted him. And, she is trusting him now, albeit he’s lying through his teeth….or, perhaps she WANTS to trust him. There is never a good excuse for cheating.
But, as Matilda pointed out, ….lame and contrived….all of it.
I think you like Valerie, so, am I wrong in assuming you have never seen her as a threat, or as sinister? I understand that, and, that’s okay. You’re allowed, Timmm. LOL. (Kidding).
I used to like her also, but she has been coveting Dante since day one. Perhaps she should find a sugar daddy, such as Sonny, so she can get a whole new set of teeth….they’re kind of costly.
I suppose Dante playing “I’ll show you mine, if you show me yours” with Valerie staved his anger and disappointment? He is not a man if he cannot think first and act later. That is the very first lesson my father gave my brothers when they were old enough to date….You don’t want to know what fears he put in us girls (and our male friends) LOL. Later, Timmm

Hi Cee Cee…okay I think I’m the one that suggested the possibility of a Ward/Valerie connection because of Edward Q’ with Mary Mae Ward during WW2. The recap as shown on a GH was a really nice and forgivable story which I’m sure is still on youtube. Briefly, Edward was a soldier in a little bar in Paris ?. Mary Mae was the singer. What a beautiful, soulful voice she had. One thing lead to another, war is over, life goes back to “normal” but Mary Mae is silently pregnant and ultimately, unknown to Edward, settles in a little house in Port Charles. Coincidentally the same house Laura wants to buy when she and Luke came back to PC after thinking they had killed Frank Miller. I also think the thought of being this settled down freaked Luke, as much as he loved Laura, the kids and wanted them to be happy in a home they could call their own.

    Whew!!! All done.

let me preface this with two points:

husband material: Dante, Patrick, Nikolas, Ned, Mac, ex-Duke
in my mind they should not be messed with

since Ned is gone, Duke is dead? … Patrick is MIA, Mac totally MIA

#2. i’m not a long time viewer… so my vested interest is ??? my own? LOL

to see characters (ie: Timmmm) “finally” come to life

Nikolas… is really truly on the darkside? I dont see that yet… whether he truly put that hit out on Hayden… but Sean beat him to the punch/hit…. he has stepped up to the plate to look out for the Cassadine waning fortune… and may in fact need ELQ…. as i’ve said… so what? it’s still the Quartermaine’ ELQ… and so be it if it’s merged with the Cassadine family… I LOVE Tyler Christopher’ acting… since the long suffering “viewers” of Fluke, Nina, (even nuJason?), and now Denise. heck… i’d add in Roger Howarth’ Franco…. gosh darned it these are big time acts.

Nikolas, has been carrying the show… with ably, LOVE HER TO BITS, Rebecca Herbst’ Liz…. bringing back Hayden is stratosphere…. I hope Nikolas and Liz convince her to play along… and that NIkolas truly does, miss her.

disgruntle: Sam…. how is it that she…. is able to figure everything out…. she’s so dim and uninteresting…. when she was telling Nikolas… “I don’t recognize who you’ve become” so expletive what …. and,,,, as she and “Jake” handily broke in to Nikolas safe…. ???? for that island to have no security ???? LOL…. I want this story to continue… I don’t want all the saintly do gooders to rally around and bust up Nikolas, Liz, and hopefully, with Hayden… what this trio can bring to our viewing pleasure…. the best part of the show

as i’ve posted before… if Jake… Liz’ son is still alive… and she should tell Jake… that he’s Jason and that their child, Jake… is alive… would go a long way to cement how much chemistry Jason and Liz share… and hopefully put to rest… that busybody Sam… OK… pelt me… but this would be a standstill to fans of the show… that it’s going to be Jason ending up with Liz and not Sam.

it seems so forced with Sam and Jake… it’s more fun to imagine what “Jake” would be doing… because of how well Billy Miller acted on Y&R and we’ve had glimpses of how fun he is to watch on GH…. just not so much with Sam and Carly. OK?

Dante: have to agree again… that Valerie is a plot point… Dante and Lulu really do have a true love thing going on…. all that they went thru to have that family… with Rocco. ??? how could Dante have thrown all that away…. i’m so with @Harry… LOL… he should have waited to confront Lulu in Canada.

two things… when Valerie told Dante, he was drunk… and she wasn’t and could have stopped it…

yet.. Dante… that following morning… still kissed her… and said that he didn’t want this to affect their “friendship”

so… watching the fallout… part of me thought that Dante himself didn’t even believe what he was saying … LOL… to Lulu.

it shouldn’t take much for Dante to realize he’s the one wrong… yet… since he’s the stronger actor of the two… I don’t know that I want to see Lulu being courted… again… as Dante waits to forgive…

OK… I don’t see Dante with Valerie, any way… so … hopefully the writing… gives these two actors… a chance… again.. to showcase their acting skill

so… to see two characters…. act out of character ? Dante and Nikolas

brings up my point… that i’m not a long timer viewer.. and seeing layers and showcase of skill being portrayed… is simply FUN

but… viewers see quality and simply need to know their menfolk… are husband material… and all that other dance stuff should remain

was referring to how LONG it took for the audience to accept ER’ nuLULU and Dante.

I really do not think of JMB’ Lulu… but it always rears itself… when we are given new material… because this couple… ER and dante have been staid… and it’s either step up to the plate or mix it up

Maxie and Nathan: when did Maxie become so boring ? that filler scene at the airport as she greeted Lulu and saw Dillan for the first time… just no life… as she recites her lines of the ole Maxie… that’s MIA

just wow… Maxie and Nathan are not REELING, either

therein that honorable mention: couples we still pine

I put Dante and Lulu and Maxie and Nathan in this category

ie: I put Michael and Sabrina as potential… I still think that… even tho she way over did it… as she mentioned (asked) Traci…. “we are friends” ? LOL several times too much… you just don’t do that to Ms. Traci

    davlestev1 replied

Dante has proven to be a UNTRUSTWORTHY as his Daddy is-If he is as noble as he claims to be he better fess up especially after the way he raked Lulu over the coals yesterday-He was screaming and ranting just like Sonny does when he doesn’t get his own way. I bet he says nothing and Val spills the beans ( I hear she tells her new buddy Jordan about scoring w Dante). I could care less about the character of Valerie. Why would they bring on a Spencer relative and have her betray her cousin who has been accepting of her and even allowed her into her home. Poor Lulu will be blindsided by this. For me “LANTE” died when Julie Berman left. I like Emme Rylan but she has NO chemistry (in my opinion) with Dominic. I hope Lulu keeps Rocco AWAY from Dante if he chooses to keep company with the homewrecker named Valerie. I see Sonny is already after Dillon in defense of his slimy son. Another case where the writers have wrecked a character. The actors did a great job yesterday but I think Lante is dead.

Emme and Dom knocked it out of the park yesterday and as someone who has invested 6 years in this couple I’m glad they’re actually getting a front burner story too bad it comes at the cost of Dante’s character and everything Lulu and Dante stood for. And even with that said I’m still rooting for Lulu and Dante because that’s the only pairing that’s rootable here.

Then the pairing might be a little more palatable for the audience on the whole. I’ve never been a Lante fan in either incarnation. Also, while Dante was wrong for jumping into bed, I have zero sympathy for Lulu. She lied at every turn and showed that getting Luke to pay attention to her was more important than her own family.

It was another great dramatic moment that Ron likes to create– it was well acted and I enjoyed every bit of it– but like always to get to that moment we have to overlook all the weak reasoning for this misunderstanding to have occurred. It came out of blue–one minute they are a happily married couple the next Dante on the most flimsy of evidence believes his wife is cheating which then gives him license to cheat himself– seems completely OOC for him– and as someone else has said, Lulu’s reasoning for not telling him the truth was rather lame as well. And if it was so dangerous, why did Luke even tell Lulu in the first place? In my opinion the build up for this misunderstanding is something more akin to what we used to see on situation comedies than a soap—but the confrontation was a great moment, and with this show I’ve just have to learn to enjoy them and never think too much about how we got there.

Yes — this seems to be the only way for DZ to get some great scenes! This is how GH is now written. There are far too many actors on this show and there is no time allotted for proper build up so you have to suspend belief. In this case, the result was a phenomenal performance by DZ.

Valerie and Dante have no chemistry and they should not become a couple. I agree with a lot of the comments above. This story made Dante look really stupid and that was unfair. I think the writers could have tested Lulu and Dante just as well with the story of Lulu running off to help Lucky and her mom and dad, without having Dante sleep with Valerie. When Valerie started on the show I liked her well enough. They did her no favors though by making her a homewrecker. She has no rooting value now and the only thing left for her is to turn up pregnant. Which of course will happen. UGH!

From the moment Valerie came to town, I figured this was the road they were going down with her, which frustrates me. Valerie is a SPENCER, but she acts like a fifth grader with a crush when she talks about Dante. And on top of that, she’s a snake slithering her way into the bed of a man married to her cousin! Who does that? Sure, Brooke Logan likes to sleep through families, but Valerie had boatloads of potential, especially given that powerful entrance she had right at the climax of the Fluke story, and THIS is what they decide to do with her?

Let alone the fact that Brytni Sarpi is a horrible actress (worse than Ryan Paevey is, IMO, and that says A LOT), and has no chemistry at all with Dante. Seriously, if this is how they intend to carry out the story, they need to recast ASAP. But I don’t even want to see another actress in the part, because Valerie is being written as a plot device, not an actual character. On today’s show, she told Jordan (who she’s known for about five minutes) that she HOPES Dante and Lulu’s marriage falls apart because she wants him for herself! She could care less about their years of happiness, that started way before anyone even knew Valerie existed.

Now, that isn’t to say that Dante is innocent in all of this. He’s supposed to be smart and honest, but the minute there’s even an inkling of Lulu cheating on him (with no real proof, nonetheless) he hops in bed with someone he’s known for three or four months? And even if Lulu was cheating on him and he knew that for a fact, does that make it okay for him to sleep with someone else just to get back at her? No way! Talk about lack of trust.

Speaking of trust, Lulu should trust Dante enough to tell him the truth so she didn’t have to lie to him. Lies destroy relationships, and even though Lulu lying didn’t force Dante to sleep with Valerie, it pushed him towards someone else because he thought his wife was having an affair. No, that wasn’t right of him, but Lulu lied directly to him.

Then there’s Dillon, who I dislike the least out of everyone invloved in this mess. He’s been on the show less than a month and already, they’re pushing Lulu and Dillon back together. We all know that eventually, they will end up together after Lulu learns the truth (probably from Valerie who will gloat about it so she can have Dante for herself) and Junior Q will be waiting on the sidelines.

It’s all so predictable, anyone who saw the way Valerie looked at Dante knew this was coming from a mile away – including Lulu. Watch, Valerie will end up pregnant because of hers and Dante’s tryst, and that’s how the truth will come out.

The only bright spot of this story is Dominic Z and Emme Rylan’s acting, which has been stellar. Finally we get to see some stronger work from Dom. But even the acting isn’t enough of a saving grace for the hot mess that this story is. Poorly written, flimsy reasoning, and out-of-character actions do not a good story make.

Loved the scenes between Emme and Dom yesterday. This is a very heavy story line! But it’s great conflict that doesn’t involve any mob wars or murders or gunfire. Just a messy affair and ultimate betrayal. I was glued to my TV screen. I can’t wait for the fall out!

Absolutely, Jenn. This is the kind of drama thousands of ordinary people experience all the time…completely realistic and heartfelt.
It is the perfect soapy storyline; betrayal, duplicity, love and forgiveness, if warranted. (Neither Dante nor Val deserves it….but…..)

The performance of Dominic and Emme was so powerful and dynamic the last 2 days were phenomenal. Val is a skasnk she always wanted Dante n the women warned him but he didn’t take it serious. When Val told Dante intentional that Lulu had a secret n Dante was suspicious about it he was so jealous and pissed at Lulu for leaving with Dillon and lying about it . Val plastered her but at Dante home and why he was drinking himself to forget what Lulu was doing he banged his wife cousin and she didn’t sop it becaz she got what she wanted all along Women like her I cannot stand especially Lulu is her cousin and took her in and tried to help her. All I can say they better not have Lulu cheat 2 wrongs don’t make it right but I can see Lulu confiding in Dillon but down deep she cannot cheat. I want lante to fight like hell and be stronger now this what I want to see, and Val gets railroaded out of PC .

Valerie has no chemistry with Dante but maybe with Dillion who is dull like her. By next week she will have morning sickness and be pregnant with Dante baby! ! This will send Lulu into Dillion bed. The writer for some reason believe in revenge sex… No respect for oneself or relationship in general.

I don’t think it’s so out of the blue. Dante did not appreciate Lulu & Johnny Z several months ago. Seeds planted. To me this is classic soap stuff–and it’s good. Dom really brought it the last 2 days.

He was devastated. He’s not going to act like a logical cop in light of what he thought. I’m not justifying sleeping with Valerie, but it makes sense in a soapy way.

And now we know Valerie is going to go slightly nutso–especially when she discovers she’s pregnant :)

Dom & Emme –and the new Dylan–he was fab today–he seemed truly afraid of Sonny–really brought it.

I agree. Dante wasn’t being his normal clear headed impartial cop investigating a crime, he was a husband being lead to believe the worst of his wife and he was in pain.

In retrospect, Lucy, you make a great point. Not only was Dylan very respectful, but TPTB deftly and dexterously shoved the fact that Sonny has a bad aura….that is, his comportment silently emanates power and control, instilling fear to those weaker than he.

LOL, I hope Valerie will not be pregnant….the baby will be born with teeth!!

I hope not too. But I fear she will. Or say she is.
I also think Lulu will go ballistic.

Especially since Lulu cannot carry a child…she’ll harbor such
anger and resentment toward Val-Trollop for getting pregnant
so easily. Lulu will finally sleep with Dylan and discover she can
conceive after all. Then low and behold Dante will see through
Val’s deception, no baby on board… Too little too late.
Hopefully Lulu has a little more respect for herself and takes
the road less traveled…… Called Restraint !

I am very old fashioned for my age, and probably too moralistic ….my upbringing dictated honor….always honor.
Thus, I, too, hope Lulu takes the less trodden path.
There is definitely trouble on the horizon, and, I suspect Val will be the one going nuts. I already said she’s tetched in the head.
    Great storyline, this will be!!!!!

Bravo to DZ and ER for outstanding performances this week. And believe it will only get better. Lulu only feels horrible for not trusthing her husband ennough to tell him what was going on with her family. All she knows is she has let Dante down and hurt/betrayed him. I feel once she really knows the truth, we will see the same kind of emotions from ER that we have seen from DZ this week. And the reverse will be seen from DZ.

HOWEVER, I HATE infidelity storylines. It seems that is the only kind of angst a writer can write for a couple to ‘shake them up’ (according to RC, what a perverse explanation). I realize soaps want the sensalization but geez, can’t a writer be more creative? Which leads me to another issue – Valerie. They could have written this from such a different POV to create the bigger angst and tell it in a way it didn’t make her into nothing short of a plot point. Which she has become. It became very obvious this storyline will follow much in the same way the Lisa Niles story was told, only quicker. Valerie was brought on as a Spencer with great momentum. But RC only writes her to have eyes for Dante. She has virtually not interacted with much of the people of PC. That is sign #!. Instead of making her into a strong character, she was made to be weak, and not being able to even move forward from her mother’s death. She overhears a conversation and instead of asking her OWN cousin, she goes directly to Dante. Sign #2. That only helps Dante lose control in what he thinks is going on. Then, when things are at its worst, after Dante has admitted that even though Lulu has done what he thinks she has done, Dante still loves Lulu more than ever. Val knows his heart isn’t anywhere but with Lulu, but still sleeps with Dante. Sign #3. Then she goes and blabs everything to Jordan and in fact, basically tells Jordan she loves Dante and believes he will divorce Lulu and be with her. Sign #4. How many signs does a person need?

This whole storyline is a sham. It made no sense from the beginning and makes no sense in the middle and I am sure will make no sense in the end. I just pray all the outcry at how stupidily and quickly it was written, they will NOT write her as pregnant. Even a fake pregnancy will be stupid. But I see that more than Val actually being pregnant. I pray Dante comes clean quick, they argue, and then make a comitted decision to work out the issues to their marriage. I hope Luke and Luara realize what they have done to Dante and Lulu’s marriage and try to help them overcome what Dante has done. Give Dante and Lulu more storylines that test their marriage but understand marriage is work and they work hard to keep it together.

Lastly, remember not all married people sleep around. It isn’t a common theme in all marriages. It is too bad TPTB at GH cannot find more creative ideas in writing scripts. GH has got to do something about some of the writing, stop the plot points and give the actors something to really act wtth. JMO

True, many married couples are faithful! Everyone on GH is dating, supposedly – Patrick and Sam are a bit awkward now, Sonny and Carly are lacking substance and that is a waste for 2 amazing actors!! Lullu and Dante are cute but they do lack some chemistry. Maxie and Nathan – where are they, tiny cameos with a few words, Alexis and Julian, = all the couples are weak right now! Sabrina and Michael are BLAH!!!
I hope Lante works it out and Valerie moves out of town or falls for someone else…

I agree with you completely! I was thinking this reminded me of Lisa Niles, too! I’m so ready for Valerie’s character to just disappear. We weren’t given enough time to care about her, so she has no rooting value. The second Lulu questioned Valerie, it was obvious Valerie was there to hurt The marriage. Why would anyone care? She’s not even “Britt”-like, where we love to hate her.

Has anyone else noticed that Valerie and nuKiki act exactly the same way?

I actually felt bad for Dante when he realized that Lulu hadn’t cheated on him. Valerie , I detest! I have since she arrived in PC and she really has no real reason to be there. She doesn’t interact with any “family” it is just poorly written and she is horrible. In actuality Lulu and Dante are the only married couple on the show right now (besides Rick and Nina LOL). Why can’t GH have a normal married couple on the show? I also predict a psycho to come out of Valerie but I’d prefer her to go home. I say this all the time, but there are too many characters on this show and the stories are mediocre. This will take until Christmas to play out…

I am soooooo happy that Dom Zamprogna and Emme Rylan FINALLY have a story they can grab ahold of and run with.
Do I like the way it’s being written, hell no. As bloated as the cast is, I’d have welcomed a new Spencer to the canvas willingly, but to use Val to cause this drama between Dante and Lulu is lame and lazy. For that I’m disappointed, but I will never be disappointed in work like I’ve seen the last few days.
The emotion I’ve seen from Dante and Lulu, the pain and guilt, Dante’s total agony at his realization of what he’s done, are the vehicle to emphasize the talent and chemistry these two actors have.
This is truly a LANTE story and will remain so.
As unfortunate as it is, the character of Val is, and has been from day one a plot point. Sad for the actress, but the character is insignificant to the continuation of Lante. She has had no real connection or interaction with anyone other than Dante and Lulu since she first appeared. And after the betrayal comes out, she will be labeled a home wrecker and town pariah by anyone who loves Lulu, and there are many. There will be no one for Val to reach out to and nowhere for her to go but to hit the bricks and move on out.
The concentration has been, is now, and will continue to be a Lulu and Dante story with them now trying to rebuild their trust in one another.
One thing I am pleased about as far as the writing goes is finally we’ve been able to see a little bit of how Dante really feels about Luke, and Lulu’s willingness to put her father first before him. For me, that has always been an issue yet he’s always pushed it down. And no one has even mentioned the fact that Lulu put her life in jeopardy without a thought to what it would have meant to her husband and her son had she been injured or killed while off “adventuring” with the parental units.

I think Dante cheating on Lulu is a not believable stroyline bc Dante was always portrayed as a good loyal guy, as opposed to when Patrick cheated on Robin, as upsetting as that was it was believable bc Patrick used to be the player that got his way around, as Dante was just never that guy.

I agree. For years he’s been written as a loyal guy, so this is OOC. Their confrontation scene was great, and DZ played it well. He made me almost understand just how angry and hurt Dante was before he cheated… Except he never would have left Canada without confronting Lulu. He never would have left Lulu at the Quartermaines with Dillon.

It will be fun watching him grovel, though.

I’m definitely not liking this story. This will be a ff for me. Plus I’m not a big Lulu/Dante fan anyway. But I still think it’s unfair to think it’s all Valerie’s fault. Many say how she latched onto Dante from the beginning. I saw Dante, consciously or not, give her more than the time of day since he was helping rescue her from Fluke. And look at her situation…she had been the long time caregiver to her mother, and lived what looked like a sheltered, uneventful life. Can you blame her for falling for Dante? I think she was emotionally starved. But she also had a strength when her mother was alive. Too bad the writers couldn’t come up with another storyline for her instead of this boring, same old, same old one.

Considering how out of character this story is, Mr. Zamprogna more than delivered this convoluted material, having his D running the gauntlet of anger, disappointment and hurt. Most impressive (and at the same time heartbreaking) was watching the dawning realization of what he’d done upon learning the truth of Ethan and Lucky’s kidnapping. One could almost feel the blood draining from his face. seeing the subtle change in his expression as he’s hit with the ramifications of his infidelity. No words, but that moment spoke volumes. This actor is underrated and under appreciated by this regime and I’m very glad that he has been brought to the forefront, despite the contrived and rushed nature of this story. It does, however, give him a chance to stretch his character into territory that, until now, has been, off limits. It may not be pleasant, but I’m quite content that as an artist he can use this to grow, push the boundries, and explore a side of his character that hasn’t been mined. It can only make him better to add more layers and depth to D. The recast L is just that: a recast. She has never moved me nor does she evoke sympathy, being little more than a miscast, generic, blonde prom queen type. She has never been L to me. But that’s just my view…..

Um, who goes to their boss — to a job you JUST started — and tells them they slept with the cop they work with? Who?! I really hope Valerie goes wacko and someone shoots her off the show. Then I hope Lulu does take up with Dillon and leaves Dante all alone. Yes, what Lulu did was stupid, but she didn’t cheat on her husband.
Bravo performances to Dom & Emme though. I did enjoy these scenes. IMHO it’s stuff like this that makes good daytime drama even if the storyline surrounding it was lame.

This is such elementary, jeuvenile, paint by numbers soap writing. This is just a painful example of how devoid of creativity soap writers are. They bring on this Valerie. We know NOTHING about this person other than she is very unstable and lacks chemistry with everyone on the canvas. Why Dante would even spend time with this person is a mystery, let alone holding her hand, and hugging her constantly at awkward and inopportune times. I am still waiting for ANYONE to make the comment “Hey Val. Your whole family is white and blonde. Youre not. Lets discuss!” As of now, Ron has NO idea who her father is. He is biding his time until he can plan a way to cement her ties tothe canvas more solidly. Character development is sadly non existent on GH.
