41 December 17th, 2013 GENERAL HOSPITAL: Bradford Anderson’s Finale! An Emotional Spinelli Says,”Goodbye My Maximista!”

Courtesy/ABC

We heard from so many fans on social media yesterday that they were touched and reaching for the hankies during the final scenes between Spinelli and Maxie during the last episode of Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) on General Hospital!

In it, Spinelli brings baby Connie, now going to be named baby Georgie, to see Maxie (Kirsten Storms) one last time before they leave for Portland.  Due to Ellie’s  (Emily Wilson) work schedule, the couple has to leave tonight.   Thus, paving the way for the emotional final scenes between Spinelli and Maxie, played to perfection (for years ) by Kirsten Storms and Anderson.

GH pulled at the viewers emotional heartstrings by giving us the montage of the relationship over the years of Spixie!  The duo even have a true heart to heart about their feelings for each other,  and how their friendships changed their lives.  Spinelli says Maxie is the first girl he truly ever loved.  And with that, they share a kiss!   However, Maxie realizes that kiss is not going to change the course of what is happening now.  Spinelli is leaving to be with Ellie, and for now have sole custody of baby Georgie until the judge re-addresses Maxie’s parental rights six months from now.

But the real kick in the gut, that surely opened the floodgates for long time fans of the couple, was when Spinelli says that Maxie, “Will always have a piece of his heart.”   That is followed by Maxie giving the two ballet slipper Christmas ornaments that were hers and her sister, Georgie’s when they were babies.   She tells Spinelli she wants her daughter to have them.   He replies he will take one, and that she should keep one when for when she shares Christmas with their baby.    And then came the final goodbye in the doorway when Spinelli says one last time to Maxie, “Goodbye my Maximista!”  Kudos to Bradford Anderson and Kirsten Storms for giving GH viewers one goodbye they will never forget!

Watch the final scenes below courtesy of GHloveTV! Then, let us know, what did you think about Spinelli and Maxie’s final scenes?  Were you choked up? Did you shed some tears?

I dont know about Ellie but im certain Spin might agree to some guest appearances in the future when Maxi is allowed visitation rights to the baby…unless Ellie and Spin end up missing after a plane crash and the baby, who survives, is eventually returned to Maxi!

I love Spinelli. He is the most unique actor I have ever seen. He is the whole package. He is funny, dramatic, emotional, believable, unique, I could go on and on and anybody that has watched him knows what I am saying is the truth. He will not be replaced. Bradford played him as only he can do. I keep losing what I love about daytime television, eventually there will be nothing left worth watching. Blessings to you Bradford in all that you do, you will be missed.

Daytime television is losing it’s hold. Not so sure I’ll record the show to watch later anymore. Not a good move for them to do this……

I thought the show was great. Bradford Anderson and Kirsten Storms did a great job. The scenes were excellent. That said, why or why did GH rush this exit. I am very unset about that. Spinelli (and Bradford) should have been allowed several days to leave town and say goodbye to his friends. Since Ellie was flying, she did not need his help. He has many, many friends in Port Charles and things to take care of before he would leave. I’m sure he has things, money in the bank, etc. This was ridiculously fast. Reminds me of a scene I just saw on soapnet where Marcie and Michael leave LLanview in a day. What on earth were the powers to be thinking when they decided to get rid of Spinelli. Yes, there were some great episodes and drama. But I’m angry they got rid of the character. The plane better not crash.

Someday we will see Spin again :)
FV and RC do not kill off charterers of ‘value’ ….
    He didn’t kill’
Faison (no way is he dead)
    Jerry
    Heather
    SB left, no body
Anyway.. FV and RC do not kill-off the great ones..
Robin was killed because KMc wanted to be killed-off, but yet FV and RC could let her be dead (what a shame) and kept her alive..
so, Spin might very well return someday.. :)

Really liked the way he grew into a real ‘man’ over the years…. hope they give it some time and lure him back with a terrific story once Kristen comes back from her maternity leave!

They somehow “work” as a couple

I am so very sad to have Bradford leaving… I love the character Spinelli and I adore Kirsten’s character Maxie. Am a huge SPIXIE fan and am so sad we are not gooing to get SPIXIE again. Bradford is so very talented and I am happy for him if this is what he wants. I will miss Spinelli incredibly!

Bradford did a stunning job on Monday’s show… as did Kirsten!!! Whoever did the montage of SPIXIE made me very happy… there were two scenes from one of my favorite shows… 12/23/08… the Spinelli/Maxie and Santa episode… that I will be watching before Christmas as it is soooooo good!

I hope Bradford comes back with Georgie in the near future!!!

As for Emily’s character Ellie… she did a very good job… but I couldn’t root for her because I wanted SPIXIE back again!!!

I wish Bradford and Emily the best of luck and hope they find work very soon!!!

This is the way to do a send off. Wanting more, but all that a scene could be. And and an open door for the future. And a reminder that friendships is the core of any relationship and can even survive soap opera twists and turns.

That was a fantastic goodbye scene, very moving and gut wrenching. It’s just too bad that we have to lose an actor of Bradford’s calibre but I can understand his leaving. these actors have to earn a living. They can’t be put on the back burner for months at a time and hope to support a family.

Sorry to see him go. As someone who “found” GH again Nov. 2012 after years of not watching, his character was new to me and took a while to appreciate. But later, I did and now I will miss Spinelli.
