We heard from so many fans on social media yesterday that they were touched and reaching for the hankies during the final scenes between Spinelli and Maxie during the last episode of Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) on General Hospital!
In it, Spinelli brings baby Connie, now going to be named baby Georgie, to see Maxie (Kirsten Storms) one last time before they leave for Portland. Due to Ellie’s (Emily Wilson) work schedule, the couple has to leave tonight. Thus, paving the way for the emotional final scenes between Spinelli and Maxie, played to perfection (for years ) by Kirsten Storms and Anderson.
GH pulled at the viewers emotional heartstrings by giving us the montage of the relationship over the years of Spixie! The duo even have a true heart to heart about their feelings for each other, and how their friendships changed their lives. Spinelli says Maxie is the first girl he truly ever loved. And with that, they share a kiss! However, Maxie realizes that kiss is not going to change the course of what is happening now. Spinelli is leaving to be with Ellie, and for now have sole custody of baby Georgie until the judge re-addresses Maxie’s parental rights six months from now.
But the real kick in the gut, that surely opened the floodgates for long time fans of the couple, was when Spinelli says that Maxie, “Will always have a piece of his heart.” That is followed by Maxie giving the two ballet slipper Christmas ornaments that were hers and her sister, Georgie’s when they were babies. She tells Spinelli she wants her daughter to have them. He replies he will take one, and that she should keep one when for when she shares Christmas with their baby. And then came the final goodbye in the doorway when Spinelli says one last time to Maxie, “Goodbye my Maximista!” Kudos to Bradford Anderson and Kirsten Storms for giving GH viewers one goodbye they will never forget!
