Wow, thats gotta be a first! ABC should go totally out of busines if theyd cancel GH anytime soon and all other networks, cable ect. would be even bigger fools not to pick the show up unless the ratings drop drastically and the show is not repairable. And if the show does get canned eventually, id like to see these two men do a primetime updated version of Peyton Place or create a show of their own. Congratulations to all!!!

Will June Lochart make an appearance for the shows 50th or was her char. killed off?
I know shes in her 80s now. What about Roseanne Barr in a return cameo as Jennifer Smith? Helene could use her appearance to torture Luke, and some soap viewers? lol. And bring back Holly!

For the NYSE to take note-this is huge-they don’t exactly hand invites out…

I agree. Last year when the Girl Scouts of America celebrated the 100th birthday they got to observe it at the NYSE too. The public likes to make soaps, especially daytime ones, seem small. This proves how huge an impact GH has had on our culture.

Well it sounded like a great day until you mentioned Ron was going to be there. Great producer and actors. Mediocre head writer. Hardly the type of person I’d want front and center to show up for anything besides the opening of a letter.

Wow. You can thank that “mediocre” writer for saving your beloved GH from cancellation. #truthhurts

So sick of people saying RC is a bad or “mediocre” writer. I’d like to know whom among them writes for anything but Twitter, FB or comments sections. RC and FV along with terrific actors saved GH and have brought it back from near death. 50th annniversary extravaganza, NYSE, Paley Center, 20/20 spot and just plain great soapy-soap episodes show how talented Ron and Frank are. Poo on all the rest of you who are compelled to criticize

I watch Coronation Street! I have for years and now it is on Hulu.com.

That is so cool! Love all the accolades that GH is rightfully receiving! So , soaps are becoming obsolete, eh , ABC/D? You’re looking pretty foolish now, especially with all of the joyous support of AMC’s and OLTL’s return!

I think it is awesome that GH gets to celebrate this important milestone
with the world by ringing in the opening bell at the NYSE. I didn’t think the
anniversary would be so closely followed until lately when I have been reading more plans to honor and celebrate my favorite soap. Keep up the great work.

OK, I’ve just seen the live broadcast, but who was that kid with the GH gang- Finola’s son? Also, it was strange to see Tony Geary in glasses AND a tie! I couldn’t help but notice that Genie Francis was next to Kin Shriner on the left, and Tony was all the way on the right-hmmmmm……

That’s fun! so I take it they had to go to NY to do so…. now if OLTL were still in NY they could have rung in their 44th!
