129 November 9th, 2016 GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jax Returns To Comfort Carly As Morgan’s Funeral Approaches!

Courtesy/ABC

November Sweeps on General Hospital has been filled with emotional storylines and emotionally-charged performances.  That continued on Wednesday’s episode of the ABC daytime drama series in several instances.  First, fan favorite Ingo Rademacher returned as Jax.  This time Jax is back in Port Charles to be there for Carly (Laura Wright) as she prepares to say goodbye to Morgan at this upcoming funeral.

In tender scenes played to perfection by Ingo and Laura Wright, Jax and Carly talk about the times when Jax was Morgan’s “dad” and how much he loved him like his own, son.  Carly is still guilt-ridden over the choices in her life, chief among them allowing Sonny back into it, and whose life in the mob she believes ultimately killed Morgan.  Nelle (Chloe Lanier) walks in on a comforting hug between two exes and seems to misinterpret what she sees!  What will she do with what she thinks she “saw”?

Sonny (Maurice Benard) talks with Griffin (Matt Cohen) inside the church. It is apparent that something very heavy is happening inside the heart and mind of Sonny.   With tears in his eyes, he tells Griffin that Duke would have been proud of him and that after Morgan’s funeral to please look after his family.  What will happen to Sonny?  Maurice Benard once again showed us Sonny’s sadness and guilt without overplaying it.

Then there is the incomparable Genie Francis (Laura)!  In scenes between Laura and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), she learns that according to the second set of documents, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) is the oldest living heir and owner of Wyndemere.   A downtrodden Laura breaks down in front of Alexis.  She realizes Nikolas’ could have died in vain.   Inconsolable, she heads back to Wyndemere preparing to move out.   When she gets there, Hayden (Rebecca Budig) shows up after being contaminated with the same mysterious illness as Finn (Michael Easton) has.   Laura leaves Hayden alone, and then Hayden passes out on the floor.

And as expected, Alexis is questioning if she has a drinking problem, especially after passing out drunk and endangering the life of her grandson, and Valentin and Nina (Michelle Stafford) reconnect, especially when she learns he is the supposed baby-daddy to young Charlotte.   Is Charlotte the answer to Nina’s prayers to raise a child?

So, what was your favorite emotional moment on Wednesday’s episode of GH? Glad Jax came back to town to support Carly in her time of need? Comment below!

Not a Jax fan so no I’m not happy he’s back. Plus I’m in the camp that believes he knows more about Nelly than he’s letting on. I can’t wait for it to come out that Sonny’s innocent and that Julian did this to frame Sonny and get rid of him. Just hope it happens before Carly does something stupid and Sonny does as well. I hope I’m wrong but I think Sonny is planning to kill himself after Morgan’s funeral.

@ Melly…Even if Sonny was or is planning on killing himself…you know he’s not going to die…we already had him in a wheelchair so I doubt they’re going back there…no..Jason will scream out…”Sonny! you’re not responsible! It wasn’t your hit!” Then Sonny…instead of having learned anything about violence will go on a rampage of revenge…

And Michael has already completely forgotten about Sabrina, just like Nikolas was barely mourned. Morgan, on the other hand, because he is a Corinthos, will be mourned dramatically for months and eventually return.

    Celia replied

So will Nikolas, come back. But, that’s a good point, John Paul.

    Rebecca1 replied

I thought about that as well John Paul. I understand Michael’s devastated…mourning..his brother. But I think having lost two people he loves back-to-back he’d be lamenting his own life…crying in despair for both. ” Sabrina…Morgan..I can’t believe I lost you both…” You’d think somewhere he’d crack and we’d see him she’ll-shocked from the cumulative effect. Instead everywhere he turns. Creeping/creepy Nell is standing in front of him with that “soft, soothing” voice that makes me want to SCREAM!

Jax is good. No matter what he does…he’s a non-violent, always with good intentions, man. Still a shark when it comes to business…uses his connections when he has to, but he usually is the one combatting crime, even his brother’s. But I do think that he probably went thru some questionable measures to get Joss her kidney…and he’s wary…or suspicious, of Nell.

  4. Violet Lemm says:

I do not think Duke would be proud of Sonny if he took the “cowards” way out. I think Sonny intends on turning himself in, possibly to Dante.

    Celia replied

Hmmmm. Good point, Violet. Does Sonny have the moxie to kill himself? Who cares about Duke?
If Sonny does not go through with this show of bravado, it definitely would not be because he is ruminating what Duke thinks about it, right now.
This entire staging is complete tomfoolery, as we know the point of gun-in-hand is moot.
He is not even thinking straight. Is he a coward? Or is he just feeling nothing, but misery?
Personally? I do not care. I think he should just go away. But, I doubt it.

I did not feel ” the funeral atmosphere”. The only one who touched me was Laura Wright. Everyone else’s acting was perfunctory.
I would love to be Sonny’s consigliere. I would steer him towards the path of righteousness. LOL.

Sorry, a Carly fan I am not. She’s falling all over Jason and Jax, letting them console her, while Sonny mourns with his exxes who give him more love and consolation than his own wife. Carly knew what Sonny’s “occupation” was , and though she whined about it constantly, she chose to stay married to him. As long as life was running smoothly, it was OK. The minute something bad happens, she’s out the door, skirts flapping. I hope when the dust settles and they find out who the real bomber was and that pathetic Morgan returns, she will go to Sonny with a half-ass apology , and he tells her what to do with it, and reminds her what “for better or worse” really means.

    Celia replied

    @Violet.
    Hi, Violet,
I am not a fan of Carly either. I agree with everything you said.
I was specifically pointing out what a wondrous and talented actress Laura Wright is!!!!! We must separate the two.
I do not think anyone can deny the fact that she can certainly emote the grieving mother. It is all relative, I suppose…..at least, for me.

    Patrick replied

the emotional beats… as it were… were played out

I do not see them as the show. it just bugs me

how can GH focus so much on this one family when they have nothing to bring as solid act

I can pinpoint only 3 times.. when it seemed there was leverage and continuity to MB’ Sonny.

    1. the brawl with Scotty
    2. his talk with Alexis
    3. his moment with Olivia

Laura Wright is trotted out for “emotional beat” lol… ok.. this is supposed to mean something after all her in your face mamma bear

    blech

I hope so too because as it stands now I detest the character. I don’t know if I’ve ever disliked a character so much. It’s not that she’s boring…I just resent her intrusion into Michael’s life…her faux concern. Although, sometimes I think she’s conflicted and feeling pangs of guilt for whatever she’s scheming…getting close to a family emotionally that she’s secretly working against. LOL..instead of being intrigued she makes me see red! It’s ridiculous that I feel that way but she just annoys me to no end.

I am not into Jax, so far. Can’t put my finger on it. Contrary to popular belief, I do not find him attractive……I know, I know, how dare I?
However, looks are not what endears a character to me, I hope I am not that shallow. I just cannot take to him…..something about Jax….you know?
Obviously, there is a method and purpose to this ‘hug’. The writers are cooking something up.
What will Nelle do with what she saw? It depends what her role is. Thus far, everything about this girl is opaque…..so obscure. Does she have a thing for Sonny, and will use this to ingratiate herself to him? Or the same could apply with Jax. Does she have feelings for Jax?
Or, ( lol), I could be completely off the mark and be something huge, staring at us. One way or another, Jax and Nelle are somehow linked…..in a BIG way.

I am so sorry to say this, but, this storyline holds no interest for me. Very boring!!
I am more involved with Valentin and Nina. I knew from the first time Charlotte’s name was mentioned that she was Valentin’s, and I said it, but, with Claudette anything is possible. I still believe Nathan and Charlotte are brother and sister.
Nina’s interest is piqued……as I said a few days ago, Valentin looks yummier and yummier to her, as Charlotte’s father. Hmmmmm!! Nina wants that little girl.

I don’t think the writers have a clear vision for Nelle. It seems that they are just throwing out loads of directions that character could possibly go. Why bring in someone new if you don’t know where she fits in? Just an opinion. Chloe is doing a good job of the in the aimless chemistry test tho

    Celia replied

You’re right, of course, robbie. If the writers DO have a clear direction at the end of the tunnel, they are certainly taking their galling time. If the storyline showed any sign of drama, I would be captivated, as I am of Valentin’s and little Charlotte’s story.
Jax, Nelle, Carly, Joss hold no interest because this story is a bust. It is not an engaging story, regardless the mystery surrounding Nelle. I am not into her, albeit she is acting the part beautifully, as you say.

I think Nelle runs to Sonny and tells him Jax is back and comforting Carly.

Chloe is a really inspiring, young actress. Nonetheless, Nelle’s subterfuge is far from inspiring.

I would like to interject that Laura Wright is incredibly credible ( intentional oxymoron) LOL.
She is soooo good!! My gosh, she makes me cry my heart out.

Kudos, milady!! You are soap royalty.

Carly – deadly in self pity in a total crying jag (constantly
    Finn = dying and miserable
    Hayden = infected dying
    Michael = miserable guilty pity
    Liz – crying
and the miserable list goes on..

that is not entertainment nor an escape..
it is bringing misery into my living room, every day. I don’t need that crap.

Just like DOOL, a show I stop watching like 2 years ago due to the same sad and lingering stories, I will have to say bye to GH.

I want to be entertain!! Infuse some light hearted fun in the stories and some great romance!!

    Patrick replied

it’s certainly a good answer to at last giving Nina ; something

just to get her out of this obsession with wanting a child… which I totally understand… because I will not rest till NIna gets what she needs to move on

I have never seen , so quickly… a new character just take over… he’s the man. Valentin OWNS this show… the energy vibe and take note of Valentin is full on HERE.

at first I was like… how many times can a child here… from 3 different men, I’m your daddy. seeing the easy rapport and comfort level with Valentin and Charlotte clinched the deal…. they belong together. and if Valentin wants Nina… and she has her motivations… so be it

    Valentin has exploded all over

who needs Sonny and Julian now ?

    Hey Patrick,
You know it, baby….Valentin came back with all the majesty due him, the second time around. He is sooooo transfixing….HOT. Old enough to be my father, lol, but who cares…..so intriguing, is he!!
As I said, as soon as Claudette informed us that she had been involved with Valentin, and was on the run from him while hiding her child to boot; it was so easy for me to come to that conclusion.
I never believed Charlotte was either Nathan’s or Griffin’s.
However, that is not to say the writers won’t steer away from Valentin as the father. We shall see.
I do believe this is the case, but, one never knows.

what is this ? a romeo and Juliet move ? each drank the potion…so to speak

the funniest part of this has to go to Brad… LOL… as he’s “complaining” to any one who’ll listen… even if it is Tracy and Liz… tho Liz was cute… “sounds like Finn is an addict”

Frank Valentini … you are getting as bad as DAYS EP Ken Corday… it’s criminal.

WHAT DO YOU SEE IN : Carly / Sonny / Jason / Sam / Alexis / Finn / Hayden
it pains me to add … Julian… want to add Franco… and def. Michael… Nell.

    Rose replied

Jimh…Sorry to hear about your stress and high blood pressure, and what Su says in her comment if you scroll up doesn’t help. For a soap veteran like yourself you know to make them work and have loyal viewers for years, you don’t want continual misery like GH has had since Fluke. We need more love, happiness, adventure, stories with legacy characters and new one’s worked in in a meaningful “logical” way, and less over-the-top violent stories. Hope you feel better. :)

    Celia replied

I didn’t notice Lucas, either, Jimmy. I have been sooo on the go this week, I have been watching peripherally; ‘in passing’, as it were. LOL.
I am still confused about what transpired between Brad and Finn…..didn’t even bother rewinding. So dumb….this strange disease afflicting Finn, and now Hayden? Strange. I am tired of the longevity of this story. FIND A CURE, ALREADY!!
It seems to me, someone on Sonny’s ‘team’ is a bomb-holding snitch.
And, Billy Miller, the tough guy, “ain’t” working for me.

Valentin is hitting fifty, GRANTLOVER. Old enough to be Natan’s father. Dr. O had made us think Victor was Nathan’s father. But, by her cryptic words Shay assumed it was Valentin…..and, I agreed.
Katherine Gati is the same age as Nancy Grahn……
As is James Stuart aroundvthe same age as William deVry. Worked for them, LOL.
But, you are right, he was never proven to be a Cassadine. It makes sense, though. I guess the proof remains to be seen; that is when Liesl and Valentin come face to face…..her reaction will tell all.
Sonny may disappear for a bit, but he is a necessary evil…..he’ll be back.

    Shay replied

@GRANTLOVER and Celia….There has been the suggestion that Anna and Valentin are siblings, as well. Hmmmm….that could be VERY interesting! As for KG and NLG being the same age, CeeCee???? The difference is that one’s character acts like an adult, albeit an occasionally criminally-insane one, whilst the other still hasn’t a clue what being mature means! And I cannot picture Dr. O. rolling around the floor during unabandoned inflagrante delicto even with a younger man….or her beloved Caesar!!!!

    Rebecca1 replied

CeeCee..I’m not sure if you have the time or inclination but if you do…try to find clips on YouTube of jax when he first arrived to Pirt Charles. Short videos of him and Brenda (Vanessa Marcil), Jax and Alexis…from back when they were in their faux marriage, Jax being a father to Morgsn to try to shield him from Sonny’s dangerous life, Jax yelling at his criminal brother Jerry for his criminal ways…Jax was the light to Sonny’s darkness. Brenda Barrett fell in love with both Sonny and Jax as did Carly. they both chose Sonny in the end over him. Now THAT ‘s implausible! ;) but, Sonny was quite the cutie back then and had the bad boy appeal…

Anyway, jax warned Brends, warned Carly, warned his best friend Alexis that Sonny was dangerous and would bring violence to their lives. That’s why it was in character for him, after he hugged Sonny ( by the way there was always a rivalry, animosity between them…Sonny tried to kill jax) but that’s why when he hugged him and felt the gun he was annoyed. Not scared, not worried for himself…but concerned because his daughter and others he loved were there…even at Mirgan’s funeral…Sonny had a gun. And then Alexis explained why… ( so, nothing shady, suspicious about max noticing the gun and being annoyed. totally in character.!

LOL…I do think we went through this before: could be deja-vu. But, I did look him up….a few episodes and all.
I simply am not attracted to him…..nor do his looks appeal to me. I do not know why.
One of my favorite words is antipathy, which I picked up years ago during one of my HUMANITIES classes……’antipatico” , opposite of “simpatico”……great Italian words which are sometimes difficult to translate.
Now, he may be a nice guy….I shall see. I do take your word for it, though. He’s never here long enough for me to form an opinion…good, or bad. But, I can see what a seasoned actor he is. He is quite the thespian.
All I feel from him is a lot of tension when around Nelle, whom has bothered me from day one, and I said so. I guess, all of us think there’s more that meets the eye about these two. And, it is about THE “kidney” in relation with everyone involved. How involved is Jax? What’s the story? Do TPTB even know?
Someone used the word “squirrelly”—-that is a perfect description.
    Later, Rebecca.

I am hoping that this means Frank, Jean and Shelly might be able to lure Ingo back full-time to the soap, because Carly and Jax were the ultimate in relationship goals. My favorite moments on the episode were watching the scenes between Laura and Alexis. Those 2 ladies know how to rock when they are with anybody but put them together and it makes for an Emmy winning reel for both actresses whether it’s for lead or supporting actress. Hey, Shay,
I intimated that Valentin and Anna had been lovers ( I know…tres impossible) , and Griffin is their child. Or, Valentin got cozy with one of Anna’s sisters, ergo, the reason he looks familiar to her.
So much is put on our collective plates, Shay; we come up we so many possible scenarios.
    I suppose that’s a good thing.
As far as Liesl doing the rough and tumble with Valentin? How else would she have begotten Nathan? You had said that if not Victor, then the worst of the Cassadines could only be Valentin. Even if he is younger; their rock ‘n roll is still viable, n’est-ce pas?
Nonetheless, something is missing in this story. It is starting ti get as convoluted as Loco as Lukie-Flukie. I get bored very fast when storylines go around in circles.
Sometimes I feel I am watching a school play written by fifth graders.

    Celia replied

    @Shay.
    Sorry, Shay, but: PS.
If Valentin and Dr. O were involved, TPTB could ‘adjust’ the age-thing as they did with Alexis and Julian, where Alexis is younger than Julian.
The thing is, Liesl and Valentin aren’t palatable as a couple, to me.
But, if memory serves me right, you had suggested that he may have taken ‘advantage’ of her.
The age thing kind of hurts when the girl is younger, as well. As you know, my husband is four years older, which is nothing now. But, when a girl is 14 and the boy she has a crush on is 18, that’s a big difference. He use to say to me, “Come back when you grow up, girl”( the song).
My acceptance of Alexis was a gradual thing. Instead of the character, I began looking at the actress. Before I started watching GH, I was not familiar with Nancy Grahn, so I really wasn’t interested one way or the other.
I did not think her ensembles were right for the courtroom. However, perhaps that is Alexis…..her personality. As much loved as Julian and Alexis are by the fans, i like her better without him.
Because I hold no resentment any longer, I can appreciate both the character and the actress now.
Not as much as I love Nina and Maxie, with a tinge of Anna and Laura ( i know Nina has a very dubious role), but, I do not become annoyed by Alexis any longer.
    Ciao, bella.

    Shay replied

Hey there, CeeCeeGirl! Yes, I still maintain that whatever “involvement” between Valentin and Dr. O. that transpired was not of the consensual variety, hence the “age” thing is hardly an issue under such circumstances. Of course, I could be totally wrong in that assumption…just have to “wait and see” on that one. As for the possible link shared by Valentin and Anna? He could have been involved with her twin sister Alex (from AMC) or an even more plausible explanation is that they have the same mother (once portrayed by Samantha Eggar) who just happened to be named….ta da…”Charlotte!” At least that would provide a storyline evidenced by some forethought and creativity, although I still get the distinct impression they are just making up this scenario as they go along ala the Fluke example you have mentioned. In terms of Alexis, yes, she’ll always be a thorn in my side….I just don’t like her and probably never will….my antipathy regarding her forever grows, but perhaps it’s because I so fondly recall NLG’s incredible, charismatic Julia on “Santa Barbara” and feel her Alexis will never come up to snuff to that iconic character….she is but a pale and inadequate imitation with far too many shortcomings. I guess you just had to be there…LOL. Furthermore, I agree with your assessment of Laura, Anna and Maxie….all classic GH superchicks in their own imitable fashion, each with their own strengths and frailties, but always welcome in Port Charles. Not so much Nina….need I say more? I think not! Lastly, as far as your notion about Sonny’s inability to join the priesthood? You are forgetting we are in a parallel religious universe when it come to this soap’s highly-abridged and amended version of Catholicism….in the span of a week, we could have Father Corinthos materialize via an online Doctoral Degree in Divinity, a special dispensation from “Il Papa” and an immediate assignment as Head Pastor of St. Timothy’s….just saying. And while we’re at it, he may even have the unlikely ability to swing a place for Carly to join him in the rectory….I know, I know, the ultimate sacrilege, but we have been there before with this show now, haven’t we????

    Celia replied

Oh, Shay, mia bella, you crack me up.
Sonny and Carly in the rectory—ahhh, the happy, moll -nun and the mob Monseigneur.
    What a gun-totin’ pair!!
Yeah, I’m done getting annoyed at the writing…..Griffin etc. I have a long list of misguided concepts and innumerable liberties these writers take with religion…..specifically Roman Catholocism which is vastly different from the Byzantine ( Greek/Eastern orthodox). There are a few priests, a cardinal and bishop in my family….not to mention a couple of nuns.

I wish I had had the pleasure of knowing Nancy Grahn in a different ambiance. But, Alexis’ vulnerability now, is quite endearing to me.
I am looking forward to see how her ‘sisterly’ relationship with Valentin pans out. I find this guy fascinating. I am so glad he’s back. I’d like to be kept on my toes and get away from the soap doldrums. How intractable is he? Can Nina ‘domesticate’ him?
Although so much has been blowing in the wind about Valentin, he’s actually a tabula rasa…..as we really base our knowledge of him on speculation only, and not facts. Then again, I have not much of a Cassadine history.
The greatest twist would be if he ends up being a good Cassadine.
On the other hand, he could be in league with Nikolas, who is not dead….and, they are up to something. And, the “Charlotte” concept, you mention, is definitely something to cultivate.
You cannot imagine how I have longed just this very thig, Shay…..discussing characters with you, albeit I may seem callow, at times. LOL
    Later, cara.

    Shay replied

Oh, CeeCee….I’ve missed our “discussions,” too….I’m trying to make up for lost time this week! I know you are always quite busy, but do yourself a great favor when opportunity permits and take a gander at “Santa Barbara’s” Julia and Mason sometime…..now THERE’S a supercouple!!! When NLG arrived on that soap as “Julia Wainwright,” she was the formerly awkward, overweight, ugly-duckling younger sister of the rich, beautiful and glamorous “Augusta Lockridge” (played by DOOL’s Louise Sorel….) yet had somehow managed to become a brainy, hard-bodied, successful lawyer in her own right. Her character was really competent, no-nonsense and hardcore when it came to not suffering fools gladly—especially the male ones—-but she finally met her match and soulmate in Mason Capwell (Lane Davies) and they were utterly sublime together! Not in an easy-going, lovey-dovey sense….they were often challenged and separated through the many vicissitudes of soap life, but they were just always meant for each other and would make their way back time and time again. Mason was an acerbic, wealthy, highly-flawed and damaged bad boy with deep-seated parental issues….he often messed up to Julia’s vast disappointment—his demons were such that he really couldn’t help himself—but he was not a mobster or psychopath like the merry band of miscreants that GH’s Alexis cannot seem to resist, no matter the dire and repeated consequences of her constantly bad choices. Perhaps once you watch Julia, you will see why I find NLG’s current character to be so exasperating, ridiculous and lacking in my eyes….the difference between these two females is like night and day. I actually once surmised that if Julia had totally gone off the deep end and completely lost both her mojo and her man, she could have possibly been Alexis, but I truly cannot imagine her ever falling so far…she was such a strong, together character, no matter what life threw at her….she became so much more than a mere survivor, limping from disaster to disaster!!!! As for “Father Sonny,” glad you liked the vivid imagery…LOL…hey, one can never say never on GH when it comes to their interpretation of the Catholic faith…to say they play fast and loose with it is a gross understatement! (And, no, I shall not expound, but I do believe this is but another area where we could enjoy a most enjoyable and profound conversation….fashion, politics, literature, history, etc..etc…!) But a quick aside here…speaking of Claire Labine and Ryan’s Hope? Even though I only watched the tail end of that serial, it never ceased to amaze how the Irish-Catholic sensibilities were approached with such a great respect, sensitivity and sense of fidelity…she was a real stickler for that…..my how times have changed! Anyway, I’m not enough up-to-speed to further comment on Valentin….especially since I am somewhat skeptical his story will mesh all that much with the former Cassadines of yore, but I suppose we shall have to wait and see what’s in store with this mysterious dude. I’m just getting back to “real life” after the election, so maybe next time I’ll have more to say about him, but it probably would not surprise you to know that I’m less than thrilled with his pairing with Nina….there’s been too much desperate shuffling with her character trying to find a romantic fit for her, and I don’t feel like this is “The One” for her either…..to me, it seems likes she is another misfit character—like the happily-departed Sabs—who the showrunners are taking stabs in the dark to find a partner that works….then again, I could say the same for Hayden with Finn. I guess that’s just me….as my previous comments attest, I remember the days of the genuine supercouples and these temporary hookups and relationships of storywriting convenience we see on GH simply don’t cut it for me! Until next time!

What I thought was funny today when Alexis swore to Sam that she had not drank while she had Danny with her, then implied that Lauren drank the whole bottle of wine by herself. I read a few weeks ago that she runs down Hayden in a drunken fog. I wonder when that is supposed to happen, after Finn saves her life, and then she gets run down by Alexis? Sounds kind of crazy, to say the least.

    Hi, Rebecca,
I will not start sparring with you. We have a new President. We should think about tamping down the fires, not stoking them. I am truly appalled at the incendiary and inflammatory extreme actions of the rioters.
We should count our lucky stars we live here, instead in other arts of the world where babies are butchered on a daily basis.
Enough is enough I say. This is not a tragedy. The people have spoken, obviously.
To me, a tragedy is losing a child; watching those St. Jude’s ads with children and cancer.
I have said this so many times before. Everyone should visit a children’s hospital. Their pain and plight will set anyone straight.
In two days will be the fourth anniversary of my little boy’s death. We need to get our priorities straight; all of us.
What makes these people any different of what they are accusing Trump? He too, has a child….impressionable. That’s his dad.
What I witness is pathetic. All these professors enable their students to act like animals. No mid-terms? Seriously? I would never encourage any of my students to act so profanely.
Hillary Clinton lost two times. What does this tell us?
Let’s give this man a chance. Perhaps the sun won’t shine for you, Rebecca. But, my parents always told me that we mold our destiny. And, the strong will survive. I have.
Peace, Rebecca. I really mean that.

    Shay replied

Exactly, CeeCee……”It is what it is.” Quite possibly, nobody was more devastated than I was after the 2012 election results….I truly believed with my whole heart and soul that Mitt Romney—a good man, but ultimately a highly ineffectual GOP standard bearer without the gumption and strength to fight and win for our side—was going to be my next president, yet alas, it simply was not the case. I was absolutely crushed and for about a week took to my bed in misery and despair, but certainly not the streets in protest and violence. Because that’s what mature adults do…they find a way to accept both defeat and victory with an equal measure of grace and civility! Or in more stark terms, to quote Laura Ingraham, one must learn to just “Suck it up, Buttercup!”

    Celia replied

    @Shay.
    Hey, Shay,
I am neither Republican nor Democratic. I am an Independent. I vote for whomever tops/ tips the scale for me. Hillary’s was just too heavy. I am sick of all these critics—-most do not even care to look into the facts—the bias is so transparent ……the media, Hollywood etc.
I actually voted for Obama in 2012—-i felt for Romney as I do for Hillary. You, on the other hand, feel differently. I will not argue over it with you. It was your choice, as an American citizen.
For the love of Jove; to cry over it is just sooo out of the realm of reality to me. They mourn?
Have these people never known true suffering?

Shay, there truly is no point because the select few will never see past the tip of their nose.
I love Laura Ingraham myself—-straight shooter; a mother, a wife and so ‘disgustingly’ SMART (LOL…that’s a compliment).
But, my favorite is Greg Gutfeld ( THE FIVE) and his Saturday/ Sunday shows. He is so entertaining with his nonsensical analogies, metaphors and euphemisms….he should take his stuff on the road, or the comedy stage.

And, for those who worry so much for this country? Mosul is a direct result of the Clinton/ Obama administration, just as Trump said. The open borders have allowed terror to come into our country to rampage, slaughter and massacre innocent people.
Checks and balances, Shay….checks and balances are in place. Isn’t that the first thing we learned in American History class?

    Rebecca1 replied

CeeCee…I want to say something to you and I hope you hear me. Not defensively, but with an open mind which I know you can do. I also know you enough to know you can be a bit too quick to think you’re being insulted…so I hope you take this as a means to understanding…

Your response regarding people’s “mourning” the election results…feeling depressed, angry, etc…was to discount them with an assumption that they/myself included, don’t know what real, grief, loss, suffering is. And then you referred to your loss. that’s an assumptive statement, an insensitive statement, an arrogant statement. Do I sound harsh? I’m sorry, but it was all that. I can assure you that almost everyone that voted has lost someone or multiple people to death…have experienced personal heartache and loss, have watched helplessly as people they loved withered and died from incurable illness. I did. I’ve known much loss…no one needs a lecture on “they should go to Shriner’s etc…” Particularly from those who voted against Trump for the insensitive man he presents himself to be. Most people who have experienced suffering, loss, pain, whips have compassion, were appalled when he mocked the disabled. There are MANY disabled children at Shriner’s.I hope none of them saw Trump do his mocking dance…

We “mourn” because what a President stands for effects our lives directly and indirectly. You speak of grief, loss, suffering? There are families who don’t make six figures, who don’t have doctors in their famiy, people who will be DIRECTLY effected by the loss of their health care. You don’t seem to have to worry about that for yourself or your family; you’re not sitting at home wondering what’s going to happen to you and your loved ones. You don’t have a disabled child, feel the hurt that a parent who does, feels. The president of the United States is a powerful leader who effects the air we breathe with his environmental decisions, the foods and the chemicals that are allowed into those foods, the effect our pollution has on our environment,. He determines a woman’s right to govern her own body,. He determines how much struggling families will be taxed, if the minimum wage will go up, if older people will still get medicareand social security. If you’re not effected by ANY of those things…you don!t understand. We take for granted that nothing major has taken away any of those things in the last eight years, but suddenly,, a volatile man who speaks of hate, is impulsive, manipulative and seemingly non compassionate or sensitive to others plight, who has instilled fear and riled up white supremacists…look how they’ve emerged since his campaign, look how they celebrate him, look at the amount of swastikas that are popping up…look up Bannon who Trump has chosen to be in his cabinet. It is worthy of despair and fear for many. And worry and anger. If Trump performs a miracle and becomes a humanitarian…which in his seventy years he’s showed no evidence of…compare him to Mark Zuckerberg and Mayor Mike Bloomberg..both billionaires who have donated billions to charity and humanitarian causes…

You speak of research…well…some who bpvoted for trump either didn!t do theirs, Don!t care about the issues, Don!t understand the issues or aren’t concerned with the issues because they feel “safe” from his issues.

I would like to retain the rapport we’ve developed. If I thought you as I do of many Trump’s supporters..starting with the ALT right and the klan…and their!s no denying..they all came out for him…I would pn’t care to further my friendship with you here. If you choose to not continue with that, I respect your decision. But I hope you might get another perspective from my comments here to you.

Come on out Harry!

Sigh, it was devastating. I just wrote a long response here. I hope it “makes the cut” but it falls on deaf ears anyway. What the Trumpsters can’t grasp is that this isn’t about ” sore losers” (which is hilarious and hypocritical in and of itself since Trump basically admitted he wouldn’t!t accept the results if he lost…cause then he’d have to say it was “rigged.” ) He wouldn’t have been as gracious as Hillary…but then he never could be. What they fail to understand is all that’s at stake with a power-crazed, narcissistic, infantile man who lives only for money, power and attention and , who has no experience other than reality TV and real estate. Healthcare, the environment, global warming, wildlife protection, dealing with world leaders, commander-in-chief if the military…REALLY? This man who ran a hate campaign similar to Hitler? They also have missed the fact that there hasn’t been this take-it-to-the streets demonstrations, reactions from most artists, musicians, actors, scholars, writers, Other Republicans, past presidents…ALL realizing what a dangerous and frightening road this is. Do they not wonder why no other candidate has received so much attention and respect from the white supremacists? Has any presidential candidate used words like pussy, fat pig…is being sued for fraud in the university scandal…there’s so much wrong with this picture and they think it’s just being “sore losers.” It’s their arrogance and stupidity. So, to answer your question, I have NEVER been so worried and wary of a president-to-be. apparently, neither have millions of others. And the kicker is he LOST the popular vote. The people have spoken and Hillary won. But for the electoral…absolute catastrophic happening. I know you, Harry and others on this site feel the same.

    I love color
    I love and accept LGBT

it’s truly startling that every other country despite their economic woes.. DO NOT , in my estimation put so much strength and waste in choosing to obsess about race and gay livelihood. why ? I just do not believe that … this country is at the point of spiral… and the world is knowing … and will have the last laugh… because good ole USA couldn’t get past bigotry and hate. such shame.

I will always believe that if these two issues were united

the Republican platform… continually makes these personal issues first and foremost… and bash the less than… being middle and lower classes for not adhering to and following

it’s all intentionally laid out by Paul Ryan and all his followers… who bellow about what our rights and wrongs are

I truly hope that Donald Trump has an awakening … that formalizes in his mindset that people truly are on … to share this earth

I pray his sole focus is the economy and that his business sense takes precedent over people of color and let us all lead our personal lives . Jeez louise… Roe vs. wade… it’s staggering what the republicans chose …

the votes that were not considered , that did not speak out… and had already made their minds up… and went with “change” thought it better to let the media play out and maligned my want… I’ve thought that perhaps this was the way the older working class voted… for Trump to tell the government that YES we are worried about jobs and the economy. that’s what I think was well intentioned… and now… by giving rise to the fears of … respectfully.. of people protesting … nevertheless want a voice more than ever before.

i’m rambling… but I wanted to put out their that I’m reading these posts…

it’s up to the people… speaking up more than ever before… and YES I still think the democratic party indeed does have leaders

    Bill Clinton
    Hillary Clinton
    Elizabeth Warden
    Bernie Sanders
    PLUS….

to keep us informed…what can I say… other than… the one thing that truly astounds me… even though Trump , becoming a Republican… has , what appears is full control of the government… with majorities in both the house and senate…

WOW are the republicans going to grandstand when they get that one supreme court appointee that’s going to waylay and stop any and all progress “ALL LIVES MATTER” ( this is my one fear)

    God Bless America

I’m sorely disappointed in what’s happened to General Hospital this past year….
I like Su000, have not smiled or laughed over anything that’s been written since
Ron C was shown the door….ABC’s made a monumental error in judgment by
not trying to pair Ron w/ an equally talented co-head writer that was well versed
in character development…..that’s what they should have tried FIRST!!! before
Saddling us with the “Snooze Queens” poor choice.
The show is still choppy, chop, chop, characters and storylines R going nowhere
(I would like to say FAST) but that’s a JOKE, these never ending useless tales
R forgettable, if only we were so lucky!! Again…..a HUGE mistake is this over
inflated cast of unexceptional actors who need time in the “ACTORS STUDIO”.
I won’t name names so Mr. Fairman won’t be too upset w/ me.
The actors who R worthy need no intro or hoopla they R simply that talented…
However I must mention them, simply because they make the show bearable
Under these trying circumstances. IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER…. Maura W,
Laura W, Kathleen G (under used), Genie F, Fiona H, Richard B ( wasted his
talent on another poor storyline) William D (ditto on what they did to Julian),
Michael E ( prospect park & abc ruined our chances of ever getting Mcbain back),
Roger H…(seeing him aimlessly roaming about is tortuous)….. All these talented
Individuals would most likely have moved on to other soaps if there were more than
3 others on the air & no room for them….But now that Y&R has cleared the deck you
never know……….FRANK w/ all do respect….Let’s undo one bad mistake, PLEASE,
PLEASE, Strike up a deal w/ Steve Burton so he can return to G H.. If Billy M. Stays
on make him A.J. blame it all on Helena, Now that’s believable.

Agreed, Fanny. I like that idea. I said this so many times before, Billy Miller is terrible as Jason. Not that I knew Steve as Jason, but he does have a following.
The Helena notion is so inspirational. Makes sense. What a brainstorm of an idea, Fanny!!!!! Just love it.

    @Celia…dare I hope CeeCee????? If not, apologies…
After watching Steve B. for 21 yrs as Jason it was hard
to let go and say Adeiu… However when it was announced
that Billy M. was taking over the role, I thought this could
possibly work… It started out O.K…Unfortunately that was
short lived, for me Billy M. has remained awkward, the fit
never quite right… Yes, the long drawn out reveal was a
factor, poor writing, disconnecting “Jason” from who he
truly is… Down to his core, he no longer is who he once was.
Not to mention how many characters it’s affected across
the board… Hey, he came, he tried, he didn’t conquer….
    C’est la vie❗️

Hi Fanny..yes, a few of us suggested that. Not sure if you were a OLTL fan…but along the line of the two Todds when Roger came back. Would be really interesting because Sam is now in love with THIS Jason and having his baby. I think it would be an amazing storyline..,though truth be told In the best possible scenario I’d rather have Sean Kanan back as AJ.

Hi Rebecca, I watched OLTL enough to really enjoy Roger’s portrayal
of Todd…Great character actor. Frank & Ron were wrong in using Roger
to resurrect Franco, they painted him into a corner and isolated him
from interesting & intelligent Storylines. Except for Dr. O’s friendship
but currently that’s limited to discussing Elizabeth….. Talk about
wasting superior talent. What were they thinking…Franco was always
meant to be a transient character.
If only Frank chose to rid the show of all the unnecessary driftwood….
He’d have enough in his budget to hire both Steve & Sean back.

    Hi, Fanny,
Yes, dear friend, it is I, CeeCee. ……just a little snag with my ‘other’ email address.
Now, Billy Miller will always be one of my favorite actors; but, not as Jason. You describe the ‘fit’ perfectly. That is exactly how I feel.
What are the chances Steve will be back? TPTB should listen to you, as your idea tops any of theirs. LOL.
I am so glad to see your name again and ‘speaking’ with you.
    Soon, my lady.

@Celia/CeeCee…I’m so very HAPPY it is you, I’ve missed
    your resounding sweetness…..
TPTB should at least have a sit down w/ Steve and see if
it’s even feasible to get him back… He was only working
10/12 consecutive days a month on Y&R, which worked
out well for him so the rest of the time could be spent in
Tennessee w/ his family. Bottom line…Frank can make
this happened if he wants it bad enough‼️

    Hi, my lovely lady,
Thank you for your warmth. I appreciated more than you know.
Yes, I would definitely like to see Steve as Jason. I did not like him as Dylan very much until recently.
So, I have developed a degree of admiration for him. So, if TPTB can make it happen; I am all for it.
By the same token, I wish Miller would go back to Y&R as Billy A.
    A bientot, ma chere.

Not a Jax fan but maybe now we will find out who Nelle really is and her mission. I knew Sonny did not “kill” his son plus I think the role is going to be back and something is going to be really wrong with him, sinister.
