I would agree that OLTL should win, but even the two OLTL episodes nominated were so good IMO it would be a tough choice. I still miss OLTL.

This is an article about writing, not acting. What does Sharon have to do with this?

I enjoy Sharon Case’s acting too, but these are DIRECTORS Guild of America awards. I don’t believe actors are nominated, unless I missed something.

“Between Heaven and Hell” which, if I’m not mistaken was the original title of “One Life to Live” should win. That episode was full of honesty, humor, history, and heartbreak.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MY JILL! (Jill Mitwell “Between Heaven and Hell” ONE LIFE TO LIVE) One of the most caring, creative, collaborative, inexhaustible directors I know, and with whom I had the privilege of beginning my career as Kelly Nelson on Guiding Light, continuing through THIS EPISODE on ONE LIFE TO LIVE– which aired January 2012. Richly deserved. I am so proud and happy. Actors: ALWAYS try it her way; more often than not, you will find your fiercely defended choices (lol) melt before her brilliance. ;) jws

The ‘HEAVEN AND HELL’ was soap opera at its best. That one episode was for better than a year of B&B incestuous sstorylines. Jill Mitwell must win, since I do not watch GH.

One Life To Live “Between Heaven and Hell” must win that was hands down one of the greatest soap episodes EVER!!! And easily the best in this list. There were so many layers to it and the things done in this were absolutely ground breaking. From the way characters were faced with former evil enemies taunting them about there pasts to when the characters fought back sent those evildoers to hell and escaped. One Life To Live was nearing end and brought great homage to the shows history in which the show was originally called “Between Heaven and Hell” so to write a story arch about a place “Between Heaven and Hell” was just amazing and it was so well done and fit write in with the stories going on. I especially loved the individual ways dead characters reacted with living characters when varying between them wanting to die and go to heaven or or hell or to wanting them to go back to the living world. Also, the way it wrapped up Robert Ford’s stories of how he went from a terrible childhood to being a scumbag to being redeemed into a good man with his son and new girl friend Jessica to facing his father and his old demons to defeat his father escape and to search for help and maybe find it. They left what happened between him and the angels unknown which I think was amazing because for all we know he is alive he could be dead in heaven he could be dead in hell we don’t know if he got a decision between life or death it was just great. Then to bring back old one life to live fan faves was also great. To sum things up overall this episode of ONE LIFE TO LIVE was PHENOMENAL. Sorry to go on for so long but this episode trumps the others which are top episodes of a year but this episode was an episode of a lifetime.
