Circle Wednesday, January 17h, GH and Maura West (Ava Jerome) fans! That is when General Hospital is set to air a special standalone episode revolving around the character of Ava Jerome, as she undergoes surgery for her remaining facial scars.

According to a piece in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now,  ABC Manager of Current Series, Nathan Varni related as to what viewers can expect: “There’s some (present day) reality in the episode, but it sticks a little bit to what happens to Ava once she under goes anesthesia, and characters from the show’s past could pop up.  Anything and anybody can show up in this special episode.”

As to the GH writing serving up a special episode for West, the exec noted, “Maura West can do absolutely anything. She’s amazing and her talent is so incredible that I knew she could pull off something like this.”

So, what do you think about this “All About Ava” special episode on tap from GH?  Who do you think will pop up when Ava goes under anesthesia? Comment below!

    Harry replied

No, Ashland–speaking for myself, I don’t love to hate her. I don’t even hate Ava, but I have no emotional investment in this character.
She’s a fairly new character and as talented as Maura West is, it’s slim pickings for the vet actors so why should Ava get a whole show dedicated to her?
Moreover, I don’t even see a scar on her face so the whole externalization of her rotten soul onto her face story is lost on me. I would be fine if this story were interjected into the text of the show but an entire episode dedicated to just one character?
    No, just no.

I totally agree, plus I’d like to know what kind of anesthesia she’s getting. Usually you’re knocked out cold and wake up wondering about missing time.

Meaningful list, su, and I agree. While under the ‘influence’, Ava will be reckoning with herself, God and whatever evil has impacted her life…..Satan, in any and every for….her demons and then some. Kudos to the writers.
I, also, like the idea of peril versus beauty……the extend to which we will go….putting ourselves is such a dangerous road into the unknown, where anything can go wrong…..where there is a decided uncertainty, as to the outcome.
It is one thing to go under the knife as a matter of life or death; for health reasons—-a completely different one when it is elective surgery—we choose to take such risks for the sake of our ego.
Perhaps, it gives us a glimpse into Ava’s insecurity, where her only ‘peace’, her only ‘happiness’, her only self-esteem derives from what she sees in the mirror….her beauty. Ava is, basically, a very lonely, unhappy woman…and, it is not only because of her scars….that’s too simplistic. This loneliness, self-deprecating-inner turmoil ( of which she’s not even aware drives her) has probably been her loyal companion for years….what/who to blame?…her upbringing?…. Her family life or lack thereof?….. I am going to appreciate this….why? Because it teaches a lesson….’tis the song of humanity.

I hope so, Patrick. Maura has that wonderful quality few actors do: even if it isn’t “her scene”, she’s the one I watch anyway. Kim Zimmer had it during her prime GL years. Onscreen, Bette Davis had it, so did Barbra Streisand. They can’t help it, they’re magic.

    Celia replied

Appealing visuals on Steve and Kelly, there, Patrick. Agreed…..I was pleasantly stunned…Jason and Sam had it going….never felt that with Sam and Drew!!!!!! What a mismatch. Sam and Jason exploded with lust, passion and LOVE….
Comparing them to Julian and Alexis distorts the picture….how right you are!!
Firstly, inasmuch as I truly like Nancy as an actress…. Alexis does not have that youthful luster or ebullience inherent to carefree, abandoning love, which only youth can provide——Julian could inspire with someone younger…..with Kim, you say? I can see that—second chance at love, in one’s mature years……not too much showy-showy…keep it off screen.

No matter how rotten Ava is, Sonny is a hundred times worse…..and Carly is no babe in the woods.
This ‘thing’ would not hold any water in real life, writers are toting a bucket full of holes…….Ava would have custody outside of soapland. It just makes no sense.
I grit my teeth in frustration every time I see Sonny. I can tolerate Carly ouside of Sonny’s space, on her own, or with other characters…..
…..But, with Sonny?….when they act like a normal couple, raising kids? Oh, Lordy Lord, I feel my stomach going on the rampage.

    Kay replied

    I agree…Why???
I don’t like her character. She’s a crook that keeps getting away! When is she ever going to pay?

    Reply

    Celia replied

I disagree, kay ( very unusual for me, as typically, I always agree with you, LOL)…. this is not about how evil the character is, or how much we like or do not like her….not about our feelings, emotions etc. It is about how profoundly a protagonist engages us. Maura plays the villainess with a heart ( when she wants to) to the hilt. A perfect reincarnation of Lana Turner in “The postman Always Rings Twice”—old world acting, not the mealy-adaptation with Jessica Lange.
I can’t stand Carly, but, goodnes me, Laura is an AMAZING actress—yet, she will never hold a candle to Maura’s IT factor, in my opinion. No one on GH can….not for me.
I am fair rnough to pay tribute to those who deserve it; even Sonny if I thought Maurice was a grand actor….I can separate the two….but, this actor’s acting does not WOW me…nothing to rave about, as would Faison, Victor Newman, Victor Kiriakis, or Stefano DiMera—each has that innate ability to make a scene riveting–they have all owened their role by being multi-faceted. It is the style and talent of the actor giving palpating life to his portrayal.
    Thus is Maura/Ava.
She expounds her feelings impeccably—with her, words are not just words….every word is measured and provocative; evoking rage and pity, almost simultaneously …..our make-believe world tells us Ava is a femme fatale, a siren…yet, our conscious mind blurs that picture when Maura is on stage and captures the audience’s attention—all my nerve endings come alive just watching her mere gestures….her pace is poetry in motion—-she’s magnificent.

    Shay replied

@CeeCee…Since we are wont to carp about Carly, I must this once praise her character for the past week’s scenes with Joss…the topic regarding suitable apparel for not just girls of her daughter’s age, but all women, as well, was absolutely spot-on! It’s about time that this highly-personal choice made by each and every female enters the #MeToo conversation…exactly what one deigns to wear and the particular message it sends is something which we’ve discussed here on numerous occasions. Simply put, when one dons revealing garb, then it will most certainly provoke a certain response from the opposite sex, and if one is not willing and prepared to accept the consequences attached to that act, then all the slogans, pins and pr efforts are useless. I thought that this subject was handled quite skillfully by Laura Wright’s Carly and even though she was in a sense lecturing Joss, she also presented her with a sweet option in order to nudge her in the right direction..that was very realistic and delivered the proper message loud and clear without forcing the issue. I liked that! Furthermore, I felt that this brief vignette was far more effective than a bunch of starlets parading around in black eveningwear slit down to their navels. up to their naughty bits and with three-quarters of their cleavage exposed bemoaning the fact that there are men who actually have the audacity to sexualize them and take advantage of them via their power positions. Perhaps if they had only had a mother like Carly to guide them, they would have realized that when one dresses like a hooker, they shouldn’t be at all surprised when they are actually treated like one!

    Rebecca1 replied

Hi, Kay. Well, she kinda paid. Burns all over her body. Excruciating pain. Humiliation. Lost her daughter to Sonny and worse…Carly! Is wracked with guilt over her part in Morgan’s death. Dealing with her own aging as she competes with the beauty and youth of the daughter she loves but envies.

Ava can never pay completely…nor can Sonny or any murderer. But, Ava, has paid more than many of the less than scrupulous characters in Port Charles. She’ll have to learn to live with her guilt, her inner torment…which will probably be relieved when/if Morgan resurfaces. Doesn’t take away the murder of Connie or her part in AJ’s death. But she apparently has a conscience which is why she suffers.

In the end, if Ava survives the surgery (I hope she does; love the character) and if the surgery goes well it’ll be interesting to see if she reverts to her old ways or if she’s been transformed not only physically but morally.

The other thing I can see happening is somehow Griffin and Kiki fall for each other, Ava’s current worst fear. That would probably send her spiraling back down the dark path even if her face is perfect.

Know who hasn’t paid??? Carly. if there’s ONE character in Port Charles that hasn’t paid it’s Carly. Someone paleeeez put that woman down!

    Celia replied

    Hi, Shaybelle,
Yes, I agree with you….Carly is acting as the typical mother who micro manages her daughter’s wardrobe and “actions”. I have always maintained what a seasoned, great actress Laura is….her acting is outstanding….love her scenes sans Sonny….she adopts a different persona when in his presence…he’s an anchor around my neck, and Carly’s? LOL.
I did chuckle when Carly had Joss ‘model’ that paisley number. Oh, WOW….she’s all of fourteen!!!! Poor kid. Straight out of granny’s trunk!!
Yet, I understand how protective a mother can be….I think we women can all identify.
Now, amica cara, I am reading so much criticism and dismay towards the ‘unique’ episode concentrated on Ava ( but, we did see many ‘defunct’ characters) ….I ask you, personally…..would you have rather seen a lamentably ‘gastric’ scene with Alexis and Julian tumbling into their recreation of teen-love-oblivion?
I would love to see Julian, as Patrick suggests a run with Kim……we have really not seen him with anyone else other than Alexis, except for that two-minute scratch with Olivia. That doesn’t count. ….it’s a thought….

    Celia replied

I think some of us are missing the point….forgive me, if I am being too audacious. I mean well…in no way would I affront anyone….
I think Ava is the perfect candidate to show the evils of a human being….the flaws….the egotistical behavior, without sound justification….she is the sinner of the worst sins.
It will probably show that even those who crawl on their bellies…even the unreedemable, may be redeemed.
That is not to say I do not share all of everyone’s disdain and bitter taste in the mouth over the accolades of a most soulless character.
However, for some reason, TPTB are trying to mold Ava into a good person for Griffin’s sake?
I think it depends on her behavior from here-on-in. The same goes for Julian, albeit he’s just as despicable.
The same cannot be said for Sonny, as he keeps stepping into the same caca….we may not see his mobster inclinations on screen, but there are indications he has not stopped wielding that power, or the instinct to do harm. I listen carefully to the dialogue.

I agree. I also think that it is interesting with how Julian owns that diner now, just like Sonny owns that coffee shop of his….

    Shay replied

No affront taken, CeeCee!!! I know that you adore Maura’s acting abilities, so an hour -long showcase of her talents as Ava may be more appealing to you than others…I simply don’t see the justification for emphasizing a character who isn’t woven into the longtime fabric of GH…it was one thing with Luke and Tracy, and I could also see it for Laura, Anna…and even, God forbid, Sonny, as they’ve all been around Port Charles on-and-off for decades, and participated in some of its most iconic storylines. But Ava is a newbie who has too often been given pride of place on the canvas, and usually for the most nefarious of purposes, so whilst I agree that redemption makes for a tantalizing possibility, I find it too little, too late for this particular player. There were two great chances for a reinvention when this character was pregnant and as she later fought her supposedly fatal illness. Both plots offered her a fresh start toward becoming a better person, but instead, Ava just went right back to her usual m.o and avaricious antics…..as much as I cannot stand Morgan and don’t desire his return, what she did to him was unforgiveable…and making her pay with the pain of walking around with hellish burn scars that shall now be miraculously obliterated is hardly an appropriate penance for causing the death of another…..ditto for prizing her with a fallen priest for a paramour! As if that shall absolve her of her past sins….it only demeans the ideals for which Griffin supposedly stood before he gave them all up for this alleycat! Just as with Julian, there is simply no convenient dramatic device to undo the immense evil Ava has previously wrought…these siblings are both prime examples of writing characters into corners without any plausible means of escape…and no amount of clever revisionism or “turning over a new leaf” nonsense will erase their gory pasts and ingratiate them to a large swath of the audience.

    Shay replied

@Ashland….Well, Port Charles can never have enough “legitimate businesses,” now, can it???? (Rhetorical question….Lol.)

    JMER replied

Sorry but they do this redemption routine with so many characters (Valentin, Sonny, etc) and they keep on doing the same dastardly things. It’s just their modus operandi.

As for Griffin, if they really cared about the Devane-Lavery-Scorpios, they wouldn’t pair Griffin with Ava at all. They’ve given very little POV to the Devane-Lavery-Scorpios and the large share of it to the Jeromes, who we all know is an evil family and nemesis of the Laverys-Scorpios. This is part of their plan to keep well loved, legacy families down and give the airtime to the unrootable Corinthoses, Jeromes, Cassadines, etc, who are in no way the moral center of the show vs Hardys, Webbers, Spencers, Scorpios, Laverys, Joneses.

    Soaphound replied

Celia, as usual, your thoughtful post has me thinking & reconsidering. I was ambivalent to this, as I’m a lifelong fan of great acting and Maura “Best” can certainly handle a solo episode. But I have trouble believing (as Shay does) Ava can change. And I find Griffin’s furrowed brow/puppy dog performances with her laughable. Talk about writing a good potential character–and gorgeous actor–into a corner! But Ava is obviously here for a while, so I’m gonna go with you on this. Let’s see where Ava’s heading. As far as everyone hating Julian, I’m beyond arguing as William DeVry is the sexiest guy over 40 I’ve ever seen (had to say “over 40″ to leave room for Billy Miller). Thanks, Celia.

    Celia replied

    @Ashland.
    Hey, Ashland,
Very good point you make there, Ashland. Sonny’s outward, legitimate ‘business’ is a cover, indubitably!!!

    Celia replied

    @Soaphound.
    Hello, my friend.
I do understand how hard it is to like someone as dedpicable as Ava has been….the worst.
I, also, must confess how enraptured I am of Maura’s acting. I have known no better thespian who can be so multi-faceted….who can act worse than Saccubus, then confound the viewer by delivering such impassioned scenes to make the heart bleed… to feel pity, albeit within the dark recesses of the mind we know how despicable she can be. But, she loves, loves passionately…
She’s an enigma, and I think this was the purpose…..will she be redeemed? I will accrpt her any way, the writers present her. Cannot help myself, LOL.
You, my friend, fell under her spell, a little bit. Sadly, most will never accept the rebirth of Ava Jerome…..I get it, as I will never accept Sonny as the exemplary father, husband ( fits the unreedemable Carly to the letter), or human being. It is what it is. Matter of opinion.
    Thank you for your input….later.

    Hey, JMER,
    You’re right,
The PTB do play this redeeming tune a lot…..and, as you say, the baddies keep stepping into that sinful caca.
I have not seen Valentin do anything to hurt anyone since his shooting of Nikolas, which I still believe he and Valentin concocted the whole thing. Nikolas is alive. Please remind me if I missed anything where Valentin stepped out, again.
Also, Ava is trying, as is Julian.
The only one who can’t seem to climb that mountain is, Sonny. I can see it—his heart belongs to THE Jason and the life of a mascalzone.

Hello there, Friend! I am replying to you here, as no reply button in your reply to me…

I like the way you call out the GH writers for trying to inject religion into Sonny. It is truly disdainful and an affront to decency. As I’ve felt all along, this whole Sonny situation had its genesis with HBO’s “The Sopranos” being such a huge success. GH wanted to capitalize on that premise, but they went overboard to the point of absurdity. Further, I think that the writers are also borrowing from “The Godfather” movie series, with mobsters dutifully attending church, despite their crimes and their evil. It’s become such a contrived caricature. It has no meaning or validity. It is an insult to viewers — and to virtue. Best to you, Celia!

Oh, wait….of course, Faison….can’t get more demented than that. LOL.

I’d LOVE it if “Frodd” (okay, even though I love Franco your “Frodd” cracks me up!) had an entire episode. Would be fun to see the inner workings of his mind and the demons (no offense) that torment him.

As for Ava, I think Maura is a good enough actress to hold our attention…as well as the stories that involved her that will no doubt play a part in the episode. Could be good.

As for Ava being a relatively new character as my friend Harry lamented…it doesn’t matter (to me) which character has been on longer. Just, who has the most interesting story to tell at the time. Ava’s gone through some heavy…sh….ummmm…stuff!

I think at some point it might be interesting to devote a psychological journey through Drew’s mind as he/we learn more about his past.

I’ve said it over and over but if there’s one character on GH I want to receive payback it’s Carly. She really needs to be taken down.

Sonny “shot” AJ when he picked up Ava’s cheap $1.98 Wal Mart Special gun, which was already loaded with a bullet in the chamber and the trigger pulled, when it jammed up on Ava before Sonny even entered the room.

So as far as I’m concerned Ava killed AJ too…. assuming somebody else didn’t off him in the hospital, since he seemed to be surviving the gunshot wound at first.

And if somebody shot something into his IV at the hospital… that would have most likely been Ava too, for that matter. Because AJ heard her to confess to Connie’s murder.

Either way that death was entirely one of her construction, even if Sonny happened to be holding her defective gun when it went off.

I wish we could all look past the character’s misdeeds and look at the exemplar acting….I repeat: there’s no one on Daytime who can hold a candle to her….and, if I may be so brazen; on Prime Time.
Some do not like her, therefore, let’s throw her to the wolves?
I don’t care if her feet are not cemented into PC’s “hallowed” ground, as a vet……she is the only one who could pull it off. Why? Other than her sister, and Heather (Not familiar with other villainesses on GH), Maura is the only one with a more or less, normal brain ( not affected my mental disease) to pick. Carly could be a possible candidate, but not half as fascinating as Ava, in my opinion.
Maura brought her own light, her own style, her own aura; and it works. GH could have ‘disposed’ of her long ago….she’s here for a reason. Ratings?

Maura West is good, but she’s not that good–no one is. Soap operas are supposed to be built on an ensemble cast. I have no interest in watching an entire episode of Ava engaging in supreme naval gazing. I wouldn’t mind the storyline as long as it was juggled with other storylines but have no interest in watching one show dedicated to one actress playing one character.
Susan Lucci would always demurred when fans told her she as Erica Kane made All My Children. She asserted that AMC depends on a talented ensemble cast and not one character or actress makes the show. Please, the storyline is fine but shouldn’t dominate the entire episode.

Ava’s been wracked with guilt over Morgan’s death. And while Liv blew up the car, Morgan would never have been in the car if he hadn’t been in a-out-fof control spiral due to Ava’s switching his meds. So, yes, Ava was the catalyst, though unintentionally, that set the event in motion that led to Morgan’s death.

We did get an episode devoted to Sam when she was hallucinating from her illness. And it was well done and a great episode. I think these occasional “trips” thru a character’s mind are fun and a great vehicle to explore what’s going on in the character’s psyche if the story warrants it. Right now, Ava is having an internal moral struggle coupled with her outward insecurity…makes sense that under the knife her guilt/psychological trauma would present itself. I agree, not a big deal. I much enjoyed this episode over Carly lecturing Jocelyn on her clothes for most of the episode. That wasn’t exactly “riveting.”

  45. Anom says:

As much as I like the actress…I feel that if those in makeup didn’t slacked on the scars of her burns it couldve been more compelling. This will seem to be a lackluster. She’s already with a hot young stud and you can barely see the little light blemish on her face. She really shouldn’t be hell bent on something so small. In the eyes of the viewers she’s already been healed…so this whole storytelling of her surgery is falling flat before it even hits the screen because GH wasn’t consistent to the extent of get injuries. One moment 75% of her body is burned….then next its just the left side of the face, then it’s just a scar she’s making a big fuss about that could easily be mistaken for a birth mark.

    Reply

    Celia replied

With all fue respect, Anom, it’s about Ava’s insecurities…the surgery feeds a void in her psyche/how she perceives what’s important in life.
I believe that’s the point of the surgery…very real-life…..I know dozens of women like that—no self-esteem, yet self-serving.

Carly and Franco looked great, as a couple—visually speaking.
I remember being raked through the coals when I called Carly such a ‘name’.

    Satan,
I am a true fan of Maura West!! You cannot read anyone’s mind or discern his/her feelings, Satan, with all due respect. That is not a fair statement.
I started watching GH in May/June of 2014. Does that make me a non-fan? That’s your opinion.
Recording this soap, looking forward to watching it, sometimes with excitement for the next episode, makes me a true fan. You cannot make such blatantly general statements.
Maura West is a great contributress to this show….she deserves recognition. And, we are transported into her world which represents so many other characters on this show.
Perhaps TPTB should have engaged Sonny? ….never would he have been able to hold his own. There is a method within the ‘madness’ of using Ava. Perfection!!! If the soap gods were going to do this ‘type’ of show, then Maura is that type….definitely.
Sonny doesn’t even do the mob-king thing justice—-looks ridiculous acting the father, the husband, the counselor of life and all its goodness or dangers. I do not take this character seriously. He’s a joke.
Maurice deserves better, at this point..but, here’s one character who, in my opinion, will never see the light or the grace of God with most fans.
Griffin’s absolution and forgiveness do not count. No matter how TPTB try to patch it up, he is an excommunicated ex-priest, and as such, in the eyes of the Roman Catholic Church, Griffin is as much a sinner ( for stepping out) as Sonny, Ava, Julian etc. Griffin is a bad example of righteousness. Too bad…I like him and his too gorgeous looks, LOL.

    Rebecca1 replied

C’mon, Sat? Really? That’s just silly. Whomever watches ANY show and does so with anticipation, loyalty and enjoyent is a fan. “True” fan? Them thar’s just semantics.

Just because the writers are focusing an episode on a character who hasn’t been with the show since its inception doesn’t make it less compelling. Not everyone watching has been watching for decades and there’s no need. And no obligation. You just jump on the bandwagon if you’re so inclined and you continue from there.

Why would the writers…why SHOULD the writers only concentrate or have an episode based on a character from the past…if his/her story is not in the present. Ava’s story is now. Sonny is a relic at this point and yet many viewers can’t stand the character. So…would it be better to devote an hour to a character that many viewers feel has been given too much time as it is? How ’bout to Carly? Her character’s been on for decades, too. Me? I’d scream. Can’t stand her.

Man! People have GOT to stop taking these shows so seriously! I know I contribute a lot of comments and have a lot of opinions on stories/characters…and that’s fine. Some of us participate more and have strong opinions about characters, couples, story lines. But to say that anyone who is onboard with a story about a more recent character (with just ONE episode) about her…isn’t a TRUE fan? No. So, no. Nothing to do with being a fan. Matter of fact, if Michael Fairman hadn’t called attention to the fact that the episode was about Ava and just posted his questions about the episode like he usually does, we’d probably all just be contriuting our thoughts as usual.

C’mon. Did Carly lecturing Joss about her wardrobe glue you to your set? I couldn’t have been more bored; felt like was watching an after school special.

the actor whos’ portraying Griffin… is HOLDING HIS OWN… so that’s a very good sign.. that he’s acting with the best their is

    and yes… he’s a lot of dream

He’s a good actor, Patrick. He was on Supernatural and How To Get Away With Murder way before his role on GH. More recently on I think the now-canceled Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

He’s gorgeous but I loved his look with longer hair.

Never have I seen such judgmental people that seem to have tunnel vision. For these comments about Ava and yet you ilolize the crime lord Sonny Corinthos and his hit man Jason Morgan. In the 20 years the Sonny character has been on the air, he’s killed more people than Ava has. Apparently you only believe in forgiveness when they sport male equipment. It’s just lucky that God does not judge the way you people do. Everyone needs forgiveness at some time in their life. Ava’s surgery is elective but no one judges the millions of people who have plastic surgery only for aging and not for the removal of a scar. Maura West is the best actor in the soap community or else you would not dislike her so much. If you can extend forgiveness to a war lord, than Ava deserves the same forgiveness for less crimes. If you can’t see the value of this episode and whatever it does to explore Ava’s background and how sorry she is for her past actions, then Satan is indeed alive and living in all of you.

Ava is not redeemable in my eyes. She has done too much unapologetically. I was never a fan and will never be and I will not sit through an all Ava episode.

Bring it on! Ava is one of the few characters that have enough ‘juice’ to carry an entire episode – so much great history! She’ll be tormented – and she should be! I, for one, am enjoying the direction they’re taking her – trying hard to reform but you know she’s going to backslide because, well, soaps.

But Maura is a wonderful actress and can really pull off anything that this show throws at her. I have no doubt that this will be a really good hour of soap.

I don’t read the mags or sites anymore so when someone pops up, it’s a complete surprise to me, so I’m looking forward to the fun of discovering who will be there and who won’t. Realistically if they’d captured Sean Kanan or the actor that played Morgan, I think it would be all over the soap press. But, if they do and managed to keep it under wraps, well, good for them and score one for a return to storytelling that doesn’t depend on knowing what’s coming days and weeks in advance.

also: it occurs to me that they’ve had a lot of talk recently of Ava’s misdeeds – Connie was name checked the other day and of course Morgan is always around in conversation. Maybe this is a way for the show to remind viewers/instruct newer viewers who she is and how she’s played a role in so many lives on this show. Remember, it was Ava that ran Drew down and was the cause for him to get a new face (does Drew know that?) …. I still remember the days that they had Vicki go to Heaven on OLTL. Was a fun way to see dead characters…. and at the end, she realized that she hadn’t seen Tina which prompted the viewers to realize that she was still alive (even after going over the Falls… lol)

Thanks for answering my question, Jacob. I understand the point you’re making.

Maura West certainly delivered a great performance with this episode. Speaking of spoilers, the episode was spoiled for me by the inclusion of sanctimonious Sonny and catty Carly, but having Ava tell them both off, among others, certainly helped.

There are many of us who find Sonny and his history of crime, including murder, without repercussion appalling. It also “bugs the hell out of me!” Thank you for delineating some of his greatest “hits.” Why this despicable character continues to be the main focus of GH — and for decades — is not only a mystery, it is the main impetus for polarizing fans and it is the major all-encompassing flaw of this once great show.

    Jamesj75 replied

Jacob, I definitely agree with you about Maura West. And you make a terrific point about a show being more exciting when the viewer doesn’t know in advance about actors’ comings and goings, with the element of surprise being most impactful.

However, I feel compelled to ask: you mention that you “don’t read the mags or sites anymore so when someone pops up, it’s a complete surprise to me,” but you evidently are reading this website and learning about Ava’s special episode. So is this visit a rarity? A slip? Regards.

lol good point, James. Sort of.

I don’t think Michael’s site is really about spoilers and that’s the sites that I generally stay away from these days. I think there was a time when finding out who was coming/going on soaps was fairly easy but it seems as though the industry has clamped down on that.. maybe they’re still out there but I don’t seek them out.

I find this site more newsy and conversation inducing rather than “here’s what is going to happen next week”. I know that’s a fudgy answer but the distinction (to me) is clear.

Was nice to see Morgan today! And boo hiss on #FakeConnie !

Was nice also to hear Ava chew Carly, Sonny, and half of Port Charles out for being just as bad as she is – and that b.s. “I know who I am” is just more poo poo out of the mouth of someone whose first kill notch was getting a teenage girl hooked on drugs. No one mentions that – or that he killed AJ in cold blood, and Alexis’ sister and so on and so on. This is the only part of GH that bugs the hell out of me – somehow Sonny and Jason are better than Franco, Julien and Ava. What?

    Celia replied

Oh, Jamesj, my friend….everything you said about Sonny is written in stone with blood.
But, what sticks in the craw the most?!…….It’s the idea that Sonny is this devout R Catholic….watching him in the chapel, on his knees, talking to Griffin, as if he’s talking to the Almighty Himself is so incredibly ironic and hypocritical….what the heck is wrong with these writers?????
As I keep saying, TPTB are trying to show Sonny in a different light with a vengeance. All the lights are dark around him….. There is no light at the end of the tunnel for Sonny—-he still has blood on his mind. God does not forgive those who still seek vengeance on others; who still seek to punish others, as Sonny is doing to Ava.
This is what I am talking about, James…..I see contrition in Ava….none, whatsoever, in Sonny, or Carly!!
Keeping Avery from her real mother is cruel and inhuman. Sinful !!

Don’t get me wrong. I actually think Maura West is among daytime’s most talented actresses but the character of Ava was poorly thought out, never really developed and kind of a fish out of water from the start. I can definitely see her being killed off.

Best to MW in any case. If this episode helps give the character some real definition then that’s a good thing but if it just means she’s going out on a big note then that’s OK too.

    I guess we’ll see.

Oh, geez! This is my fifth attempt to respond to your twisting the facts. I’m trying again. Maybe the 100th time is the charm…

I don’t EVER respond to you. I do, however, read your comments and cringe. Let’s start with your never- ending “cryptic” messages that there is “one poster” who goes by “different names” who’s sole joy in life is to “stalk you” and rake you over the coals. If you only knew how exasperating it its to read those comments almost on every thread; or at least every time a poster disagrees with you or says something to you that you don’t like. LOL!!!! It’s not me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you not see that you and I have been going at it for a few years now? Have I EVER not used my name when confronting you? Am I using it now? Did I use it on the comment I sent to which your above comment is a reply to?

Get it through your head. There was one time…ONE TIME I used the name Mark. Know why? Because you were part of a days-long attack aimed at me over a comment you and some others didn’t “approve” of regarding the Jane Eliot exit interview. The “attack” went on and on. It was quite Twitter-war worthy! Finally, I used the name Mark…ONCE…(there actually was another Mark who was posting) but I used it ONCE..to defend “Rebecca1.” And then I forgot to change my name back. Frustrating and funny? Yes. Maddening that I got “caught?” Yes. Not because there’s anything even vaguely wrong in changing one’s name here even hundreds of times if they so desire; it’s a soap site and we’re all just “names” without faces here. But, no, I didn’t and don’t change my identity here because I’ve been on here for years, as have you, and though “anonymous” we still have a sense of “self” here and our views which are easily recognized. We’ve developed rapports here with different people.

So. Again. STOP CONSTANTLY MAKING YOUR INSINUATIONS to Shay, Timmm and there was at least one other on the Days board the other day. You are antagonistic and obsessive. Get me out of your mind, then I won’t have to control the impulse to respond to you or defend myself! It’s ludicrous!

By the way, do you really think that the poster who came out of nowhere, coincidentally speaks Italian and throws it in here every now and then (as do you) uses the sames words as you regarding older couples flirting as “infantile” and knows every argument you and I have had going back a few years…she just “popped in” out of the blue to champion you and Shay? LOL…if you think I’m buying that for one minute. I have my theories on who this “mystery” poster is but we’ll just keep it there. And, by the way, do you know how I had to control myself when she, too, went to Rose and tried to sway her??? Didn’t say anything; but ya, I read it.

Oh. And believe me when I tell you I regret having posted to yet another of your “past her prime” comments below. Lord knows I’ve ignored the hundreds of other times you’ve posted the same. I guess I just self-combusted after too much containment and control when reading your “one poster/many names” out to get you posts.

Deal with the fact that you may occasionally run into others who disagree with you or don’t like you. Difference is…I stay out of it. When I have a problem with you I address you directly; I don’t jump on the bandwagon or egg people on. Unlike you.

Alexis? Yep; she’s a character. Nancy Grahan? Not. And her age and her “boobs” both which you insulted, belong to both. See how that works?

    Celia replied

Oh, geez, let’s see…so, Rebecca, are you saying that Francesca Bruno and I are one and the same? She is the one to whom you are referring?
Firstly, I speak Italian, French, German, Dutch, Scandinavian language(s), and Spanish.
From what I understood, it seemed that Francesca was a fan of Mr. Fairman, but never posted because she just enjoyed reading. Yet, she said she could not take your abusive behavior towards me and Shay, any longer….see, you are the one who keeps insinuating off and on…Shat and I reply to each other according to what you say first….and, it’s always been that way. You interject into our conversation by reprimanding us….always about Alexis….
….but, going back to thst nice lady, Francesca…..
…..this was when “Becky” came on and started ridiculing her.
We use the same language? Everyone does….sooo, all those people, Maureen, Gary, Frank, Helen, Judith, Kevin etc. are all me, as well? Sadly, those posters who had been posting for years are no longer on these sites . Thanks to you. I don’t see Francesca anymore either. I wonder why.
I used the same language when Sigrid posted ( that is a norse name, like my Aunt’s)…. so am I Sigrid? Funny how you twist “events” to your own agenda.
If anyone is obsessive, it is you. The only reason I read you is because as I finished giving my little daughter a bath, my email ‘rang’….well, lo and behold it was you.
Just a few days ago you went into your regular pages and pages/chapters of writing to Jamesj, about poor you and how victimized you were. I say poor James, who is a staunch gentleman and was compelled to answer you ….why do you feel the need to have people pity you by keeping things alive? Can you not see you put yourself in that corner? And, just. a couple of weeks ago you dug into Shay, again, over Alexis. And it goes on and on.
All those people on the Jane Elliot site said you like to play the victim…..and get support by inventing fake names…..with the exception of Harry, who was loyal to you and now?…..
So, do you mean rose or Rose?……rose writes just like you….Rose writes in a different style. The only reason you question otherbpeople’s identity is because you are many people. If you posted under Mark….chances are you pist under other names as well….but, ‘Mark’ became very abusive, did he not? Just as Reed and so many others we do not see here any longer.
I insinuate nothing. I do not know you. I cannot help it if you feel persecuted…not everything on these sites is about you, dear Rebecca. You went as far as poo-pooing over my pain of losing a child, remember that?
But, knowing you, you will twist that as well.
Go ahead and have the last word….we all know it’s coming….you just can’t help yourself. I am done.
Oh, by the by….60-old women should not go around wearing necklines down to their knees. Alexis is looking smart, lately. Loved her little ensemble from the other day. Very chic. See, I call them as I see them.

I swear to G-d…you’re nuts. Honestly. I know you have some people who like you here. That’s great! I, on the other hand, think you have problems. The fact that you just persisted and wrote me once again after I explained several times…and you’re stuck on “Mark” after I explained that, too, is…nuts!

I don’t know “rose” other than our regular poster, Rose. I don’t know Mark, although I used the name, once but did see that same day there was another Mark. (or I would have chosen another name.) Does he post abusive things? Don’t know! Haven’t seen his posts since. .As said, I used the name Mark once to respond as a poster to defend me!!! LOL…after the onslaught because each time I tried under my actual name to defend myself I didn’t get anywhere. THAT WAS IT!!!! So…

I don’t know Reed. I also don’t know the two, I think women, who were not too keen on you on the Krissie/Parker exit story. I LOVED reading their criticism…but I have no idea who they are and never saw them again. And, I didn’t join in as you do. So. Either there are posters on here who don’t want to be attacked like I have been, twice now with a year in between, but feel the same way I do…and chose other names to let their feelings be known and disappear…or they were just random posters who left. No clue. But you should get one. Or several. Your insistance on holding on to your theory is over-the-top. But you feel since that ONE time it was discovered that suddenly you’re on to something…

Wait!!!! I just reread your claim that I was callous over you losing your child?!!!! WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once again, just like you did when I said I liked the Ava/Nina baby story, you insult my integrity. If ANYONE reads my comments I think they can tell I’m a compassionate, empathetic person. Most of the time I defend characters I do so by incurring psychological reasons they do what they do…the emotional trauma, etc. That comes from the way I see people in life, as well. I would NEVER dismiss a miscarriage. Matter of fact, on the very day we had our first argument and you brought that up I told you I was sorry to hear that..but you ignored that sentiment. So, where you get these things is beyond me.

What I DO remember is that a poster, who joined in the “first” attack then turned against you saying he didn’t know you…and wasn’t even sure you were anything you said you are..and that you used your personal loss for sympathy. You can look at that on the page where MF instructed everyone to be civil.

And, funny, how you end your diatribe with a judgement about Alexis/Nancy and what 60-year-old women should be wearing. At least you’re consistent.

By the way, CeeCee, I also wanted to take a moment to defend the lovely—-and very real—-Francesca Bruno…You are right, she is an extremely nice and kind woman——quite intelligent, too—-and she doesn’t deserve to be repeatedly maligned in the highly rude and brutal fashion she has been. I’ve had the pleasure of corresponding with her on a number of occasions regarding matters other than GH ones….and I would have liked to trade even more comments, however, as we’ve often gone off-topic—-like about Italian culture or politics——our posts have been moderated. After this happened a few times, I finally gave up and moved on to other threads, but I wanted her to know that she was not ignored and I hope to chat with her again in the future. Thanks for letting me “borrow” your space to point this out, mia amica!

There is no other Mark. There is a Mark Y, but he’s not your “Mark”. That’s when you were posting under that particular name and was caught with your hand in the cookie jar…..and, you were abusive, as you are now.
Infantile you say?…..I can name one hundred and one posters who have used that word. If anyone has a problem, it is you!!!!!! If it were just I, then you’d have a point, but you have insulted a slew of people over the years here….the ones with ‘guts’ came forward….who knows how many more hold their tongues. rebecca1 replied

LOL! Again! Why don’t you take a look at April 6, 2016 where MF asked us to all behave in a respectful manner. Why don’t you then look at the posters on that page, who, after joining in on your attack against me, claimed they didn’t know you and and didn’t realize you, Shay and I had a “history” and that you were using that to “attack” me. Yep. I said “lack of comprehension” regarding a general sense regarding Alexis (whatever was going on with the story at that time) And then, bam!!!! Three day attack. Even after I explained the red button that prompted me to say it., which is you and Shay and your disgusting, judgy comments about her looks/age/sexualty on the show. And even after I explained that..you made sure that that wouldn’t be enough and successfully got those 7 or 8 people to viciously, unrelentlessly, attack.Know what, Su0000 just accused someone of the same thing on a recent post about her feelings about Genie Francis; (no offense, su…just using this as an example) said he lacked comprehension. Timmm has told numerous people to “grow up!” and to not watch a soap if they don’t like it…Numerous people, unfortunately, have said curt remarks to each other, including you, many times. Many people have criticized su0000 but without you and Shay chiming in it just stops…as it should. Every “twitter” needs some toxic and you and Shay are it. Manipulative. You seem to think it’s the CeeCee/Shay hour. If ever two people were meant to find each other….

So, back to the page I reference above. Aside from some posters turning against one of their ringleaders, you, and saying they didn’t realize what they’d gotten caught up in…GASP!…there is a Mark on that page who calls you out on the sympathy card, etc. HE is the one that brought up your miscarriage and asked how does anyone know it’s true…and questioned why you keep bringing it up. He asked…for sympathy? To get people on your side?
That same Mark was in on the rampage against me, who I guess changed his mind and then went after YOU! And by the way, for those that didn’t understand what was going on, the deep resentment/hostility between you, Shay and I…and thought I was just trying to break up the “good fun”…I wonder how “fun” it would have been if they were on the receiving end. You get on your high horse for the slightest slight, i can’t even IMAGINE how you would have felt/reacted if you had been in my place. But, then, I don’t instigate that kinda ridiculous, needless crap.

On that same page…There was also an apology from you to me (after days of ripping at me) and your comment to Shay where you said you were wrong, you “could have stopped” attacking me but you didn’t. Until you did. Again. AFTER we had come to a truce and you started again. Instigated and interjected over a nasty response to my finding fault with something Jane Elliot said in her exit interview. THAT’s cause for an attack??? By anyone? Insane. Really.

So. It seems like you’re quite the manipulator. Your M.O. is to be sweet to posters to “gain their friendship”…started very early on…”My” (fill in various posters names). But then! If someone postd something you don’t like you question them, you attack and you walk on some type of “righteous” air.

I have strong opinions. As do most of us here. But I usually follow someone’s comments whom I don’t agree with by stating…I don’t agree…and then I go into why. YOU, on the other hand, like what you did with me, tried to SHAME ME because I liked the episode where Nina took Ava’s baby…and asked if I liked seeing babies harmed…liked seeing babies stuck with needles, etc. And yet, innocent sweet, self-claimed (over and over again) young CeeCee is never wrong! Not when she mocks, not when she attacks, not when she does an-about face, not when she sends messages over and over again to Shay and Timmm and anyone else she thinks will listen…that there’s a poster on here looking to start trouble… So, why did I use the word nuts? Because, you know…if the shoe fits….

And, while we’re at it, since when is nuts an insult but accusations of being “abusive, insinuation that you’re making saying I’m doing something I’m not, trying to ruing my online presence here every time you post…not insulting? So, let me get this straight…you provoke, I defend and “I’m” the one in the wrong???? Ya.

To anyone who may be reading this but doesn’t know our history and who doesn’t see the posts that I do (not everyone reads all and not everyone knows what you’re even talking about when you continually post in the midst of your comments…”Do not be fooled. The he/she of many faces is on here to cause trouble…” On and on and on.) So, if it seems like I came out of the blue to FINALLY comment to you on your once-again “past her prime” post, it was only because, as I’ve already said, I’ve controlled myself for months from posting to you at all!

Now, if you’re interested in finding out who your mystery Mark is, go look back at the thread I just posted. You can see “him” or whomever that poster is, going at you. I have no idea if it’s the same person or if he’s still on; haven’t even noticed!

Now. I’ll say it again. STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!! And by the way, I have to admit that I’m surprised that there aren’t more women appalled at you and Shay’s constant reference to age…as in too old. etc…always judgmental. But, I did and do take offense and that’s what you hate. You hate that I call you out…that I find it offensive. And, even when I explained that there are older posters on here and you saying things like ‘past her prime” “wrinkled boobs” “shouldn’t be so sexual” at THAT age, “inappropriate” for her to wear that at HER age, who wants to see that kind of passion of someone her “age”..when I pointed out that goes beyond story and character to insulting older women, that point means nothing to you. You tell me your gynecologist aunt backs up your points, your upbringing backs up your decorum etc. I’m not interested in your aunt’s opinion or how you were raised…I’m WATCHING A SOAP!!!! And if a middle-aged woman is all passionate about her man…great! Get over it! And get over your obsession with the mystery poster of many names who attacks you.

It’s not the Celia/CeeCee hour. It’s just a soap site.

    Michael Fairman…

With all due respect I have been attacked on this site for literally days on end between two to three times by Celia and Shay with some posters that come out of nowhere (not regulars). Each time it was allowed to go on for about three days before you and your moderators put a stop to it. It was absolutely hideous! I honestly don’t know how all those posts got through and if you remember correctly, they then got on you and accused you of knowing me, being me, taking sides, etc.

Now, the posts are STILL getting through, and I can understand if you or your site monitors are not aware of it..but everything I just posted is true. Celia continues to post innuendos on almost every post she makes. I can literally check the archives and send them to you. She’s constantly intimating that I’m following her, using other names to “call her out” etc and I’ve held my tongue, so to speak. However, on this side of my screen, it galls me.

So, we are not “going back to this again.” It never stopped…she’s just being subtle this time. I have not had any direct messages with her or Shay until finally, after reading yet one more (you can see on the Days of Our Lives thread regarding Tyler Christopher’s appearance, where Celia again, without mentioning my name…told a poster that she hopes the peaceful site is not disrupted now, etc etc.) because she saw I posted there.

It’s infuriating and insulting to constantly be barraged by this woman and the posters I never even heard of who join in once a year or whatever.

So, I respect you and the work you do and I enjoy posting here. Truly. But the monitors need more consistency. If this is truly to be a peaceful, fun site then constant bashing and inuendoes (how many times did the mysterious Francesca Bruno appear to attack me…I don’t even know this poster!!!) And, yet, her comments went through.

Needs to be more closely monitored and then this antagonism and “cliques’ ganging up on one wouldn’t be happening. And the “one” wouldn’t feel the need to respond.

What I found to be nauseating was seeing Sonny and Carly, but for me and others, that’s always the case. If the powers that be intended to showcase the talents of Maura West, I would say they succeeded. But they don’t need a standalone episode for that; West always delivers. For some fans (myself included), seeing Morgan, however briefly, was sweet. But storyline wasn’t really advanced in any way.

Julian , may be better served with the lovely lass… Kim. i’m so smitten and taken with her. I don’t know if I have the patience for this fight of will . abandon ?

Finn: WOW . as he shared with Alexis how his wife died just 2 years ago… of the illness and or cure he was working on? or was it .. they were both addicted to drugs ? wasn’t clear their ?

Then: he takes up with Hayden… and .. with a child he doesn’t know is alive . so that went kaput

NOW : he’s … already in love… IN LOVE no LESS ? with Anna… wow … she’s in deep already.. and it’s just not like Anna to be . as she shares with Felicia @the Gym… how it was so much fun… ??? to be taking on the drug lords? how compatible are they? FAST attraction and love lorn… for me.

    Please Anna… WAIT.

Alexis better get her head together. She is in love with lust, which is great when love is present….a love that is freely given without being fettered…a love which is not violently abusive….she’s no babe. I will never buy Julian’s, “my sister/devil made me do it”….She’s past her prime and should know better at this juncture in her life. Just say NO!! Bad example, writers!!!! What are you telling your younger viewers??????
Finn? No better. Sily, silly, silly……he and Anna are both infantile…..I thought they had overcome the silliness, but, it’s still there. Do not like this pair.

Oh, let’s see….that was a very polite comment ….addressing you whith rhetorical questions and suppositions where Nina, disillutioned woman was deranged….however, you did not see anything wrong with it..!!!!!! I have made it clear enough how I looove Nina/Michelle, but I can say, without faltering, that she was going through a “distorted” spell. I did not call you any names…nor did I attack your family. I see no one trashing me, except for Reed ( once), who came on out of nowhere, and Mark ( often), which we now know it was YOU. Lately, you’ve disputed with Harry…your buddy….
With you, it seems that what people were saying was that your bashing of other posters went on way before I was in the picture.
People just do not come out in hoardes without probable cause. You called me crazy for no reason other than calling Alexis out. She is not real…..
Plus, you said I lacked comprehension skills and attacked my entire family…..And, most importantly I do not post by a hunderd pseudonyms.
I changed to Celia because CeeCee was hacked. I said it as soon as I posted as Celia, which is my name….only my siblings and friends call me Cee.
You, on the other hand, went on a rampage and then some….but, you are never wrong, always the voice of reason….you are invincible in all things….not a humble body in your body….male or female. And, you started copying my loose writing style and picked up on my made-up phraseology. Take a look down memory lane…..
I tried and tried with you, but no sooner that Alexis was mentioned, you went into that familiar spin….I am allowed to say anything I want within reason about a character just as you do about Carly.
Now, just imagine if, God forbid, every poster said something negative about Alexis….you’d have enemies all over the place.
I amnot your enemy, I do not have any, you have placed yourself in the opposition corner….all about Alexis. Is it no wonder people think , you are either Nancy or a relative? …..but, you like dissention…it’s your bag….as someone already said to you, you troll these sites just to find a reason to bash.
I love Nina and Ava….CHARACTERS. Look what some posters say about them….do I, in return, call them names and berate then like children? No!!!! It’s their opinion. But, you have elected yourself to be the comments-police….

    LOL, CeeCee.

    Shay replied

Amen to all that, CeeCee!!! We’ve already discussed this “addiction ala Alexis” at length, so enough said about this ignominious creature and her plethora of weak-willed character faults and foibles! However, for some reason, the GH writers also seem “addicted” to the notion of presenting May-December romances where the female is the elder party. First, we had the scandalous Ava and Morgan, then the deservedly-ridiculed Alexis and Julian—-and now the highly-mismatched Ava and Griffin, as well as not-so-surprising-after-all Anna and Finn. It’s just getting plain silly. Quite frankly, I’m not as opposed to the latter as Patrick and you, since I think it could be a nice bit of lighthearted fun for both characters to take part in a fling on a short-term basis…at least there is a mutual respect and genuine affection slowly simmering there between these two very attractive people, plus I really like both the charming Michael Easton and ever-alluring Finola Hughes…their flirtations seem basically harmless to me, but as for the other couplings, you already know where I stand. When there’s an obvious difference in age and a woman can quite literally be mistaken for one’s mother, it’s time for a man to call time on his relationship and move on…especially if he harbors a desire for children. That’s just a basic physiological truth and all the caterwauling in the world cannot change that fact. Realistically speaking, Julian, Griffin and Finn are each in their prime of life, and if they have any future designs on fatherhood, then they had best find partners who can make that happen!!! Definitely calling on Dr. Kim and Kiki, respectively, for this task with “Charlie” and the fallen priest-boy…although as Finn himself has mused, perhaps he’s really not cut out for the rigors of being a parent…maybe his beloved “Roxy” is responsibility enough for this youthful man-child???? If so, his potential do-si-do with Anna is of no great consequence toward that particular end and I can graciously give them a pass on their age gap. You see, for me, it’s not so much the “what,” but the “who” and “how” that ultimately is the proof of the pudding when one makes a call on such disparate pairings.

    Shay replied

And my dear CeeCee, if we want to recall some other real “golden oldies” from the past, there’s always December 21, 2015….GH: Alexis Accepts Julian’s Proposal, and of course, one of my all time personal favorite threads, March 28, 2016, Deep Dark Secrets and Dirty Double Crosses This Week on GH!!!!! Let’s just say the treasure trove of nasty missives we’ve had lobbed at us—-and countless other posters!!!!——is positively endless, if you know where to look, given there are plenty more penned by the particular party from whence they came! (As I’m sure many of the regulars here can corroborate, since they have been oh….so….memorable!)

    Celia replied

    @Shay.
    Hey, Shay,
….on my way out, but, very quickly….I agree with everything you wrote….I have said the same for Rafe and Hope (DOOL)….. she’s a grandmother on the show and he is much younger; who, may I add, always wanted children of his own, but Hope is past her child-bearing years….
She’s a beautiful woman, but that’s neither here nor there. I don’t know what TPTB think?…. that we’re forgetful of the facts?
I like Alexis now….since she came to grips with the fact that Julian is the death of her, as it were.
The writers should show her strengths, not a simpering woman pining away, and devouring her ex with her eyes.
To do that “they” need to keep the two separated….not throw them together at every opportunity and then some.
You know what they are doing, yes? These two will end up together again. That’s fine. I just do not want to see an older woman acting out-of-her-mind, a’ la teen in puppy love….keep it behind the scenes….no one else goes as far as TPTB made her go with her insatiable sexual appetite. Not very pleasing to the eye….not at that age!!
    Ciao, bella.

    rebecca1 replied

Dear Shay…LOL! You want to go back, too?

We don’t have to look back very far to see how judgmental you are not only to older women, non-blondes, ethnic people, and child actors who you like to call “brats”…but your most recent response to james where you explained to him what a terrible experience you had in school…where for the life of you you couldn’t understand why no one liked you.

Then, you went on to say you came from a very upscale neighborhood and some “unruly minority” women attacked you. “Unruly ‘minority’ women?” Hahahaha…and you don’t even see where that’s offensive!!!!

Really. I couldn’t make this stuff up.

    Shay replied

@CeeCee……You are right, Kristian Alfonso is still quite beautiful…I haven’t watched DOOL for an absolute age, but I shall take your word for Hope’s own May-December relationship storyline as you’ve described it to me. I’m certainly not saying that such scenarios should never play out on soaps, but that they have been done to death on GH and have been too often portrayed quite unrealistically, to boot! That’s simply an apparently inconvenient fact with which some seemingly cannot deal….just like when we post our own thoughts and life experiences as we see fit. They constantly have to be twisted and misrepresented in order to create the sort of negative memes which are so obviously desired by a very few specific individuals at this website. I have seen this happen to both of us time and time again….For example, I never said that I wasn’t liked in school….I was actually quite popular, but just the same, that doesn’t mean that EVERYBODY loves you in every given situation, as I’m sure you can relate, mia amica! You always have a bad apple or two in any bushel….just as we do here….you know, bitter, jealous, resentful types who aren’t happy with their own lots in life, so they have to attack those of us who are content with what God gave us……and it can get ugly….very ugly, at times, which is what I was conveying to James when I shared with him my own accounts of being bullied after he told me of his unfortunate incidents. As for accurately describing the particular miscreants who created the most pressing problem for me, perhaps you could suggest a more “pc” manner of describing them since the unvarnished truth apparently offends those self-appointed as our thought police? As it so happened, those who harrassed me were young females from the “inner city” who lacked social graces and behaved accordingly…quite frankly, I don’t how I could have more delicately or politely worded that to still honestly and adequately detail the nature of the perpetrators and event as they actually occurred, I mean, give me a break!!!! Would slang or profanity been more preferred by today’s standards??? Too bad….I don’t go there….never have, never will! Oh well, there are certainly much worse conundrums in life that we face than having to worry about telling it like it is, eh, CeeCeeGirl? Lastly, I just wanted to add that in looking back at our wonderful—-and sometimes not so wonderful—-trip into the past here at MFSoaps, something really struck me about the posts of yesteryear….what an overwhelming sense of joie de vivre and bonhomie with which they were infused!!! It was quite something, and not just where we were concerned! Some of the same favorite names we see today were featured…Timmm, Jimh, Harry, Fanny, James and Patrick, to mention a few, but the lovely, carefree spirit in which we used to communicate with one another is now gone….it’s all tense and about walking on eggshells these days, which is so sad. Also equally striking were all those lovely people who commented then but no longer do so, and that is a great shame, too…I still miss them and their unique personalities and takes on things…how I wish they had not felt the need to depart, but I do understand why they did so…I guess the more things change, the more they remain the same, and not necessarily in a good way, either…Ah, such is life!

    Celia replied
