Now this should be fun and fabulous! General Hospital’s Daytime Emmy winner, Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis), will be part of the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Telecast in a very unique way, not as a nominee, but as the writer and producer of some comedy bits that will run throughout the broadcast.
TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan, got the skinny on what La Grahn has been up to! Here are a few excerpts!
Nancy on coordinating the talent in her segments: “It was so hard coordinating all the stars — the phone calls, the emails, the publicists! Let me tell ya, the ones who cooperated and made it easy-peasy — Katie Couric, Dr. Drew, Wayne Brady, Steve Harvey, Alex Trebek, the ladies from The Talk — were the real champs. But, damn, it was hard. Now I really understand what producers go through.”
Nancy on part of the shoot that happened on Hollywood Boulevard: “We were shooting there guerilla-style with these pop lock dancers who were doing all this very bizarre, body-contorting s–t that you just can’t believe. One guy held an Emmy and turned his arm 360 degrees — the kind of stuff that makes the judges squirm on So You Think You Can Dance. We also shot me going down Hollywood Boulevard with a red wagon full of Emmys trying to give them away. I’m, like, “I’ve taken the liberty of stealing Emmys from those who have so many to give to those who have none. Who wants Alex Trebek’s?” We shot so much that a lot won’t make it into the show.”
So are you looking forward to seeing what Nancy came up with on Emmy night? What do you think the bits will be? Weigh-in!
