Soap Opera Digest learned exclusively from Y&R’s co-head writer, Scott Hamner that when soap superstar Genie Francis hits the Genoa City canvas in late May, her character will be named “Genevieve”.
Hamner previewed, “This is going to be a very, very different character than we’ve seen Genie Francis portray.” Well, let’s hope for Francis’s sake as requested on Oprah Winfrey’s “Soap Legends” episode, that there are no victimization plans for Genie, since she clearly made it known that she is no longer interested in playing that type of role. We think, its going to be very interesting to see the new alter-ego created by one of daytime’s greats.
