General Hospital favorite and pop/rock star Rick Springfield (Ex-Noah Drake) is heading over to the CW’s Supernatural for its 12th season! The casting news was announced over the weekend during the series San Diego Comic-Con panel.
According to Deadline, Springfield will play a minion of Lucifer for a multi-episode arc. Supernatural’s EP Robert Singer described Springfield’s character as “a rock star who’s a little bit on the down side” and ready for a comeback. The former rocker as portrayed by Springfield becomes a “vessel” for Lucifer.
As GH fans know, Rick has portrayed Dr. Noah Drake on and off since the 80′s, and who’s on-screens on was Dr. Patrick Drake (formerly played by Jason Thompson). Springfield is known for his many pop hits including “Jessie’s Girl”, and “I’ve Done Everything For You”. He recently appeared in the motion picture Ricki and The Flash with Meryl Streep, and continues to record and tour.
Rick joins another former soap alum Jensen Ackles (Ex-Eric, DAYS) who stars in Supernatural along with Jared Padalecki. The series returns on October 13th for its new season beginning at 9PMET Thursday’s on the CW.
