Those who have been watching SOAPnet’s General Hospital 50 year marathon of classic episodes over the 5 decades of the iconic soap,  are still reaching for the hankies and awe-struck by the heartbreaking story of BJ and Maxie!

Today, General Hospital’s Ron Carlivati revealed via his Twitter page, a scene between Jackie Zeman (Bobbie) and Kristina Wagner (Felicia) that did not make it to air that was scripted for the episode where many of the ladies of Port Charles were getting ready in the Metro Court Suite to attend the Nurses’ Ball (Thursday’s episode).

As you will see after the jump, the deleted scene includes Bobbie and Felicia reminiscing about their daughters which concludes with Felicia saying: “Every day I am so grateful for the gift you gave us.”  Bobbie:  You gave us the greatest gift, too. Without Maxie, I wouldn’t have a piece of BJ to hold onto.”    Check it out,  and then let us know if you were touched by it?

I agree this scene should have been in but I’d keep Brenda and Carly and lose every scene with Richard Simmons, he’s the only thing I’m not enjoying from the Nurses Ball

Didn’t need the scenes with Richard Simmons they should have been cut down..I think Bobbie & Felicia talking about BJ & Maxie is more important. And
this story is relivant to GH” history……Didn’t like the scenes with Richard Simmons much at all. He was trying to ruin the nurses ball!

How could you cut out such an important moment that works both now and then, it ties so much together making the years melt away. I remember the scene in the hospital as BJ’s parents said goodbye to their sweet child. One of the most enduring moments of the show!

BJ’s death was such an iconic GH moment. I really wish this scene hadn’t been omitted but thank Ron for bringing it to light, if only in the written form. Perhaps they plan to mention this/have a scene similar to this later down the line or further in Maxie’s pregnancy? Just seems too important not to say. With Bobbie & Felicia remaining on the canvas, perhaps the scene is yet to come.

I’m getting weepy just reading the script. I can’t imagine watching the scene. Sorry it had to get cut, but that happens with every episode :( It’s the nature of the beast. A 1 hour TV show has about 16 mins of commercials.

Regardless of the deleted scenes, THANK YOU GH for a fantastic 50th Anniversary! The love and respect being shown to the show, it’s history and the fans is heart warming and SO appreciated. We never thought the Nurses Ball would be back….. THANK YOU #Cartini :)

Sometimes the better stuff gets cut…this shouldve made it in… Maybe its not to late to add it later…maybe Bobbi could help deliver Maxis baby and she and Felicia couldve a similar conversation then?

OK, great. Why would he admit to CUTTING an important scene that fans would have preferred over a prolonged Sabrina make-over? Unlike others I have no problem with Patrick and Sabrina, because Kimberly ISN’T coming back — her choice. But…for the 50th, the BJ/Maxie storyline is one of the MOST crucial in GH’s entire history. So, um…why admit — or brag(?) — that you couldn’t fit in this crucial scene referencing that story and get us all annoyed about what was deemed more important than this scene, but actually isn’t. Really bizarre P.R. here!!!!

SO FAR, THE NURSES BALL IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. THANKS FOR ALL THE MEMORIES OF THE PAST,PRESENT, AND POSSIBLY THE FUTURE COMING UP UNTIL THE NURSES BALL IS DONE FOR NOW, TWO DAYS LEFT? TPTB HAS DONE A GREAT JOB SHARING ALL OF US FANS THROUGH THE 50 YEARS. JUST GLAD THAT I’M STILL ALIVE TO BE ENJOYING THEM AGAIN. CAN’T WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW.

I so wish this made it into the final cut!! That would have been a very appropriate, heartfelt conversation & way to pay homage to the BJ storyline that still continues.

Sad and ironic that the unselfish gift that was BJ’s heart hasn’t transfered to Maxie being unselfishly honest about the baby she’s carrying for her best friend L and her husband D as really being Spinelli’ s. (At least, this is the general consensus that it is his.) And not telling Spinelli that it is his child is also selfish. On another note, despite my annoyance (and yes, I admit anger), with Maxie’s deception, it doesn’t lessen the fact that this scene featuring Felicia and Bobbie, would have been, for myself, much more satisfying to see as it relates to one of GH’s greatest, most touching stories ever. I would take this angle over the, yes , I’ll say it, juvenile scenario that has been Sabrina and Patrick.

I have to agree with you….

    especially… since… alll involved…. know…. Lulu can’t carry…. and is relying on “her” “best friend”…. ???

    oh Maxie….

can we “blame” her growing up without her parents? i’m grasping to explain Maxies’ immature antics….

thus far… the one saving grace… her telling Frisco… She loves Mac….

and yet… we have Bobbie and Felicia exclaiming how Maxie has blossomed….

Spinelli as the “father”… has a right to know…

maybe… as some fans have thought…. could Brit have lied to Maxie… ? and once again… Maxie is on the lam… and again… unacountable for her actions….

I have been thoroughly enjoying GH for months. Ron and Frank bring characters with rich history back into the fold and feature them in new situations, interacting with new characters. Previous regimes have ignored core characters and featured many new faces. Ron & Frank did the same thing on OLTL. Every soap should take note. :)

    No big deal..
I think RC released it to watch all the complainers BWM (bitch whine & moan :)

All the happenings of the past 50 years can not be put in a 36 minute show, but at the least we were able to remember it by RC bringing that to us, even if in writing. ..

I think all that has been brought to us has been awesome and I loved the flashbacks, the vets, the memories and the heartfelt moments, and more to come Monday..

I would have cut all the Sabrina scenes and Brenda throwing food. Sometimes there is a reason to bitch, whine and moan.

Are they listening though? That is the question. Thankfully Connie/Kate seems to be gone, so I think they do hear the viewers.

I cannot imagine why this was cut! Surely not in favor of Spinelli’s song and dance routine (She blinded me with science), or even Max the ventriloquist (Sp?) hurling insults at Frisco, which I think was silly and so out of character for Max, at least in my opinion.

This should have been left in, especially since the actual episode played both weekends in the marathon, and i cried both times. I sobbed so heavy when it first aired.. Maybe a full length internet episode could be made and air for us fan and they could include all the deleted scenes!! How about TPTB????

I certainly understand why longtime viewers of the show might be upset this reference was not put into the show, but to be honest, as a newbie- I would not have any idea what they were talking about. And perhaps that is why it didn’t make the cut in favor for scenes that were either about present day Port Charles, or scenes where in the dialogue a newer fan could learn the history of the characters during the conversation.

However I thought it was classy that the writer shared it in this format, obviously he wanted long time fans to know he didn’t forget that bit of history, so perhaps if there is ever a DVD copy of these anniversary shows they might include the scene in that.

That would have been amazing. I wonder if RC has a say of what gets kept and what gets cut from his scripts. If he doesn’t than I think him posting this was his way of sharing a beautiful scene that the writers wanted to give us but got edited out somewhere down the line.

I do not want this anniversary to end! Such excitement! Seeing clips, past episodes, and nods to hostiry has brought back so much in my memory. These characters are like family and they bring forth people, visions, times from my life as I take the trip down memory lane.

What is wonderful about soaps is that they allow us to revisit “family” when real life cannot. I do pray many of these actors and characters do not fade as GH moves into Year 51 and beyond.

I too would have preferred to have seen this scene and the one that was shot but never aired between Bobbie and Lucy than see Brenda and Carly act like children at the Nurse’s Ball. First of all, I had a hard time believing that Brenda, one of Robin’s best friends, would be so disrespectful. It would have been more believable coming from Carly. Loved however the pictures of Jessie and Amy that they showed at the beginning of the ball.

Why is everyone acting like they just killed off all of the major characters from the show. When it comes to editing and flow of the show, many times shows as well as feature films have to cut some really nice moments. Especially if the one moment doesn’t really evolve into longer scene or carry another storyline. It WAS a great moment. And apparently Ron thought it was great enough to post it do we could see it even if it didn’t make it to air.
Maybe some people should look up the definition of “fans” or “supporters”. GH has been getting great ratings and major Primetime publicity. They’ve brought bak fan favorites, the nurses ball, fixed some wrongs made by previous writing teams…..damn, cut one scene and STILL post it for fans to see, knowing they’d appreciate it and instead of being happy to see something so sweet, they get turned on. lol.

I am very disappointed in the fact that they didn’t air this. That would have shown the history of the show. I think even the newbies who haven’t watched this show for years have heard about the heart transplant. Or they have been living under a rock. I love Mac but I tuned out the mr mumbles marbles and what he had to say. What were tptb thinking.. all this Brenda garbage and I like Brenda. enough. That’s 3 for 3 they dumped and that was a mistake. Are the suits at it again?
Wake up FrankenRon, the fans think you are doing a great job. They could have taken out the whole red carpet bull and written some more like this. Why a red carpet this wasn’t the emmys or Oscars! More entertainment on stage less bull. Starr could have been a guest singing under the name of Kirsten Alderson. Steven webber entertains, why were these people gone before the show. I was hoping B.Barash would sing and play the piano, what do we get Sonny ,Brenda and Carley acting like idiots. Molly has sung on the show. Guess I should shut up at least we got some semblance of the ball.

well, I did see bits on the 20/20 show – from the old BJ/Maxie storyline. I d didn’t feel slighted… the scene especially where Felicia had just found out that the heart Maxie was getting was BJ’s realizing that BJ had died… as she wailed and slid to the floor in the hospital hallway… breaks my heart anytime I see it!
