Actor and producer Chad Allen received the honor for an award presented to an openly LGBT media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equal rights for the community. Through his acting roles and film projects, Allen has amplified the voices of LGBT community.
Most recently, the touching story of an on-screen romance with gay doctor, Kyle Julian (Adam Grimes) and his character of Eric, on the SOAPnet series, “GH: Night Shift” was another star turn for the actor.
Allen also served as a producer on the film Save Me, which offered audiences a look into the world of so-called “ex gay ministries.” The film also stars, Judith Light and was written by her husband and former “OLTL”co-star Robert Desiderio. Not only is Chad Allen an advocate as an actor and producer but he has been a vocal supporter for marriage equality in interviews with news outlets including CNN’s Larry King Live.
